But, no regrets.

Just one step away from resurrecting Lord Jie Luo.

The closer it got to such a mont, the more intense and unbearable the impulse beca in Rose Vesper’s chest.

Normally, in such dangerous situations, Rose Vesper chose to have others take action while she herself would command from a position of safety, reaping the fruits of victory.

But now she had to face the danger herself, after all, she no longer had the ability to command Asina and Catherine.

Rose Vesper’s strength had nearly fully recovered, and though it was not as overwhelming as when she crushed Augustus, she had indeed returned to her strongest state. This did not even account for her bloodline, which seed to have been fully activated, making her even stronger than the Holy Daughter. Yet even so, Rose Vesper had to move carefully through the mist.

She and Aili stood at the prow and stern respectively, their Strength fully unleashed, carefully sensing everything around them. She had to not only look for the rmaid but also guard against any terror that might strike from the fog.

What made Rose Vesper feel both troubled and endangered was that her perception was severely limited within the mist, barely extending beyond what her eyes could see.

Ti seed to fade away in the mist.

Whether it was day or night, it was always a dull blur, and Rose Vesper did not know how long she had been sailing through this fog.

Perhaps, less than a day? Or perhaps, a very long ti had passed...

The sea within the mist seed like a purely dead world.

No cries of seabirds, no fish jumping above the water, no rippling waves... Nothing at all, the entire world seed to be imrsed in stillness and deathly silence.

That emptiness, desolation, and eerie atmosphere most readily triggered people’s fear.

Rose Vesper finally understood that the most unbearable thing in such a place was not thirst or hunger, nor the monsters that could erge at any ti, but... the maddening loneliness.

And then, the ever-increasing oppression and sense of loss due to the lack of findings.

As ti of unknown length passed, she encountered nothing, suffered not even a single attack, and as for the rmaid, Rose Vesper had never seen any trace.

Rose Vesper knew that obtaining the rmaid’s Heart would not be easy, and she was prepared to wander here for a long ti. Her storage ring was also filled with enough food.

But the oppression and sense of loss still grew by the day.

Perhaps many of the predecessors who explored the Endless Sea died under such torture, did they not?

She did not even know her current location...

On the prow, Rose Vesper took a deep breath, her small hand over her chest as she tried hard to calm the irritation within, controlling emotions was the most important thing in the Endless Sea.

Thud...

Just then, the first unusual sound in this long while suddenly reached Rose Vesper’s ears.

The ship beneath her swayed slightly, and finally, ripples spread across the sea, which had been as still as a dead pool, as if the bow had struck sothing.

Though it was a very slight disturbance, the motion jolted Rose Vesper awake, and she stood up with a swoosh, excitent flickering in her golden eyes.

Her heartbeat accelerated, and even her breathing beca sowhat rapid.

It had not been easy.

With a trembling heart, Rose Vesper looked towards the front of the prow, and then her beautiful face instantly took on a weird expression.

She had never expected to see such a scene.

If the prow had struck even an ugly Demon, Rose Vesper would have accepted it, but... she had never imagined that at this very mont, there would be a woman... floating on the surface of the sea just at the prow?

Indeed, that was a woman.

Even more, a rather beautiful woman, whose hair seed not to have been grood for quite so ti, ssy strands framing her face. Her clothes were tattered, but the woman had not bothered to change them.

She floated on the water’s surface, still as a fish long dead.

Even when the little boat struck her, she remained motionless, as if she had passed away... Her pretty face bore a hint of languor.

In the midst of the endless sea, shrouded in a mysterious aura, how was it possible to encounter a woman who seed to have been dead for a very long ti?

Even with Rose Vesper’s astuteness, she couldn’t make sense of the situation.

Could it be a demon from the deep reaches of the Endless Sea? In such a mystical place, it wouldn’t be surprising for so weird beings to possess shape-shifting abilities.

Could this woman be a rmaid, perhaps?

Although rmaids were said to possess the upper body of a human and the tail of a fish, different from this woman’s appearance, who could guarantee this wasn’t an illusion created by a rmaid?

Yet, if it were an illusion, Rose Vesper did not believe that a re rmaid could confound her.

Or could this be a human explorer like herself who ultimately t her demise here in the Endless Sea?

In an instant, many thoughts surfaced in Rose Vesper’s mind. If the woman was just another human who had been exploring the Endless Sea and had died there, then she held no significance for Rose Vesper.

Rose Vesper initially wanted to let the corpse be, but after so deliberation, she still ordered Aili to retrieve the woman’s body from the water.

Perhaps, on the woman’s corpse, they might find so useful clues, such as notes left behind from her exploration that could save them from taking unnecessary detours.

However, when Rose Vesper examined the body, she frustratingly found nothing on the woman except for a long dress - not even a storage ring, sothing every adventurer from Sky Do Continent would typically carry.

Let alone any notes or the like.

The lack of findings soured Rose Vesper’s mood considerably, and in her annoyance, she considered throwing the woman’s corpse back into the sea... Yet, oddly enough, the woman seed as though she had been dead for so ti.

Logically, the body should have decomposed by now, emitting a pungent stench of decay, or might even have been consud by sea creatures already.

In reality, though, the woman’s skin was cold but still smooth and elastic.

Rose Vesper pushed the body, intending to toss it back into the sea, but in that mont, she suddenly felt a faint vibration.

Her pupils contracted sharply, eyes suddenly fixating on the woman’s chest.

Her bosom was slowly descending.

Was that, a heartbeat?

The woman still had a heartbeat? Was she still alive?

This sudden discovery put Rose Vesper on high alert. She signaled to Aili with her eyes, and they both prepared for combat. In such a place, it was better to be cautious, right?

Those golden eyes stared intensely at the body of the woman, and after a long while, the woman’s heart finally beat again... The frequency of her heartbeat was unimaginably low.

It was nothing like the heart rate of any normal living being, and coupled with that languid face, Rose Vesper had a weird feeling... that the woman seed too lazy to even beat her heart.

What in the world?

A heartbeat is the most normal, instinctive response of any living being. It’s not sothing that can be controlled. How could soone be too lazy to beat their heart?

What unsettled Rose Vesper even more was that the woman’s languorous aura began to spread, even affecting her. Suddenly, Rose Vesper also felt a languid sensation wash over her, as if nothing in the world was worth caring about.
