In the Confession Room behind him, Qin Chu was taken aback by what he heard.

To be fair, Augustus was the most cunning and difficult to deal with among these people.

He was very powerful, ticulous, and had even noticed Angelica’s assignnt to be on the lookout for inner palace activities.

Augustus’s deductions about the Hero were quite reasonable, even though they were only partly the cause; indeed, Qin Chu had considered such things.

But what surprised Qin Chu even more was the situation with Rose Vesper.

That woman, truly ruthless.

Silf, Asina, and Catherine hadn’t brought back any intelligence indicating Rose Vesper was preparing to make a move against him. Thus, there could only be one possibility: the news about uniting everyone to conspire against the Hero was rely a smokescreen let out by Rose Vesper on purpose.

Despite Rose Vesper’s actions being very covert for so ti, concealing them from Augustus, the old fox, was virtually impossible.

This seemingly pure and innocent Holy Daughter intelligently accounted for this and decided that since she couldn’t deceive Augustus, she might as well divert his attention elsewhere.

She deliberately exposed to Augustus her plan to assassinate the Second Generation Brave Warrior and resurrect the First Generation Brave, utilizing her affection for Jie Luo to leave him completely unsuspecting, entirely unaware that her recent sches were all directed at him.

Even if the resurrection of Jie Luo ca to light later, Rose Vesper could easily claim it was a rumour spread by soone unknown, a slander.

A little coquetry and the matter could be glossed over.

Qin Chu knew all too well that the woman, Rose Vesper, was very skilled at acting coy.

Moreover, by that ti, Rose Vesper would likely have completely taken control of the Holy Court, and even if there were doubts, no one would be able to do anything to her.

On his part, Saint Monica had already been subdued.

Augustus even thought he could pull Saint Monica over to be his ally...

Qin Chu suddenly felt a bit sorry for Augustus.

He was extrely curious about how the future events would unfold.

Augustus was waiting for Saint Monica’s reply, and although she had pondered for a long ti, he was not in a hurry, aware that it was not sothing that could be decided in a short span.

After a long while, Saint Monica heaved a sigh, "I can join forces with you, but if I sense any kind of issue, I’ll terminate our cooperation at any mont."

A smile finally appeared on Augustus’s wrinkled face as he was quite satisfied with such a response from Saint Monica.

After all, such matters weren’t sothing you could just join or withdraw from by simply saying so, right?

"Then, I will take my leave for now, and after I return, I will make a detailed plan. If there’s any movent on Rose Vesper’s part, I will notify you."

This ti, Saint Monica didn’t even extend the courtesy of seeing her guest out.

Augustus didn’t mind either, knowing that Saint Monica was carefully mulling over the matter. He was magnanimous and wouldn’t quibble over such trifles.

After leaving the Holy Hall, Augustus looked up at the night sky outside.

The drizzle had stopped at so point he hadn’t noticed.

The clouds had dispersed, and the hazy moonlight was scattered on the ground.

It was as bright as his mood; Augustus’s lips curled into a smile. Could this indicate that his plans would shine like the moonlight?

Was this a good on?

Was it perhaps a blessing from the Moon Goddess, if there was one?

He wondered, should he consider changing his faith?

...

anwhile, back inside the Holy Hall.

After Augustus’s departure, Qin Chu finally left the Confession Room.

Saint Monica seed a bit vexed, "Lord of Joy, why didn’t you just kill Augustus? With your power, eliminating him would surely be a simple task."

Qin Chu’s expression remained unchanged, he sighed leisurely, "With my strength, I naturally do not care about the likes of Augustus, but what after killing him?"

"The Pope of the Holy Court is assassinated while having a secret eting with the Church Venerable of the Earth Mother Goddess Sect within the Holy Hall. Even if you argue till heavens fall, you won’t be able to clear your na."

"Eliminating Augustus is possible, but there must be a reasonable cause; otherwise, it will bring trouble to you."

Saint Monica felt warmth in her heart.

She hadn’t expected that the Lord of Joy would regard her so highly.

Indeed, as the supre being, he thinks more comprehensively than her.

"In short, before that, just keep a close watch on Augustus’s movents as usual, and how we proceed will be upon my command."

This part of the affair seed to be concluded as well.

When Qin Chu left, Saint Monica personally saw him off, showing him more respect than Augustus received.

Qin Chu noticed that Saint Monica’s head was enveloped in dense violet mist, the mist of faith, which he promptly plundered, slightly replenishing the divinity that had nearly been exhausted by himself.

By the ti he returned to the palace, Silf and Catherine had already cleaned up all the bodies around, even the ashes were rinsed clean.

If not for the remaining traces of battle on the ground’s stone plates, no one would know that a battle had just taken place here.

Augustus was right; having a group of experts by your side is indeed quite useful. Otherwise, the situation tonight might have been quite troubleso.

"Silf, any news from Rose Vesper?" Qin Chu asked.

Silf shook her head readily: "I don’t know."

"Earlier, Rose Vesper contacted through ssage Magic, asking to go over with Asina and Catherine, but these enemies just appeared and I didn’t have ti to bother with her, so I just told her to roll and then I turned off the ssage."

Seeing Silf’s disdainful expression, Qin Chu’s forehead was covered with a layer of cold sweat.

Good grief, the other party is a Holy Daughter, and she was your teammate before. Can’t you show a little respect?

Qin Chu considered internally: "You and Catherine go now, and from today on, I want detailed information about every move Rose Vesper makes, understand?"

Although Silf was sowhat reluctant, this was, after all, an order from Qin Chu. She ultimately nodded her head and imdiately called over Catherine to head to the Holy Court.

This was partly to obtain information from Rose Vesper’s side, and partly to continue deepening the confusion for Augustus.

With Rose Vesper preparing for a major operation, how could it proceed if forr teammates like Silf and Catherine didn’t go?

"Angelica, Violet, and everyone, go back and rest." Qin Chu affectionately ruffled Angelica’s hair, ssing up the smooth strands.

Qin Chu himself wasn’t sure why, but he felt a mysterious sense of satisfaction from doing so.

Angelica protected the top of her head with her hands, looking at Qin Chu with puffed cheeks.

As each girl returned to her room to rest, Qin Chu also headed towards Asina’s room, curious whether Asina was awake yet and wanting to know what changes would occur with Asina, the test subject, after crushing a Divine Statue.

What secrets could this woman still be hiding that allowed her to draw the attention of seven Evil Gods?

As she watched her master’s departing figure, Angelica’s small hand lifted slightly, wanting to call out to her master and tell him about the weird incident she’d just encountered, where she could see a figure through a round moon, and even faintly hear so voices lingering in her ears.

However, the master had been so busy all evening that he must be very tired by now.

After a bit of thought, Angelica decided to let it go for now and speak of it tomorrow; there was no rush.

Yet, her little head still subconsciously looked up, gazing at the bright full moon in the sky, as if all the moonlight was being drawn to her, focusing on her body. Everywhere else was plunged into thick darkness outside of Angelica’s presence.

She couldn’t tell if it was just her imagination, but Angelica felt her Level 79 barrier seed to be loosening.

Once more, faint whispers echoed in her ears, and Angelica strained to discern the aning behind those elusive voices.

But the voices were too ethereal, and Angelica couldn’t make out any of it.

Almost imperceptibly, Angelica felt as if a voice was calling to her.

She felt her body becoming light as a feather, as if she might float up from the ground at any mont and fly toward the moon that lay so far away.

Sowhat bewildered, Angelica gently reached out her hand, possibly in an attempt to grasp the gentle moonlight?

Suddenly, her fingers seed to feel a subtle touch, as if a small hand was really entwined with hers.

Confusion deepened on Angelica’s beautiful face. She didn’t understand what this sensation ant, but she didn’t sense any malice from it.

"Angelica..."

Finally, she heard it clearly: that unseen presence seed to be calling her na.

A faint smile appeared on Angelica’s youthful face, her curiosity piqued. Why would that entity know her na?

Who was this presence in the void?

Despite her doubts, she didn’t dislike the sensation at all.

"Angelica..."

The voice kept calling.

"Angelica..."

The voice seed to be getting louder.

Then, a small hand covered Angelica’s view, waving up and down: "Hey, Angelica, snap out of it, what are you doing?"

Her body shuddered suddenly, as if Angelica’s mind, which had almost floated away, finally ca back at that mont.

Turning around in a daze, she realized that it was Antasia standing beside her, looking at her with a puzzled expression.

"Antasia, were you the one calling just now?"

"Who else could it be but ? Is there anyone else here? I called you twice and you didn’t respond at all. What were you doing, standing here looking blank, don’t scare ," Antasia was clearly worried.

Angelica’s appearance just now was indeed strange, as if so unseen force had pulled away her soul.

That had frightened Antasia.

Having gone through so much, Antasia had co to understand that in this world, within the vast starry sky, there were many weird entities that she didn’t know about and so that she could never comprehend.

And the fate of those who caught the attention of such entities was often terrifying.

The Prince, Onions, Karsas...

In this palace, Angelica was her best sister, and by no ans did Antasia want to see Angelica fall into that situation.

Angelica smiled softly: "Nothing, I just felt that tonight’s moonlight was very beautiful. Don’t worry."

"Let’s go back and rest."

The gentle murmurs, like tender whispers, still drifted through her ears.
