Noble District.
On the clean and tidy streets, two striking young won walked side by side.
"Rose Vesper, do I really have to dress like this? It’s terribly uncomfortable," Catherine couldn’t help complaining.
Her face was full of annoyance. Had she known she would suffer this much, she would never have made such a suggestion.
She had taken off her familiar battle armor and replaced it with a tightly fitting dress, the color red, matching her long hair, making her look like a walking fla.
Catherine had an exceptionally fine figure, and even Rose Vesper, who was very confident in herself, had to admit that this sister’s figure was far superior to her own, second only to Asina.
The dress was also particularly tailored to enhance the figure.
Catherine, who had trained in martial arts for years, was tall and athletic. With the body-hugging dress, the curves between her bust, waist, hips, and legs were enticing. Below her flat stomach, a pair of straight long legs were absolutely captivating, and the high slit of her skirt revealed two beautifully shaped long legs as she moved.
All along the way, heads were turning.
The burning gazes of n often earned Catherine’s angry glares, and she was almost unable to resist the urge to hit soone.
But, what Catherine found most unbearable were the pair of red high-heels she was wearing. She had never worn such things before and felt swaying and unsteady, the slim heels seeming like they might break at any mont.
"What else then, did you want to wear that suit of steel armor?" Rose Vesper rubbed her forehead sowhat helplessly, "Please, didn’t you realize that your get-up would only scare n away?"
"Qin Chu was frightened just at the sight of you; how could he possibly fancy you?"
She glanced at Catherine’s chest and scoffed, having grown so much, utterly shaless.
"Let’s go. Just rember what I said, no matter what happens, don’t lose your temper. Qin Chu isn’t quite like other n."
After giving another piece of advice, Rose Vesper continued walking forward, pulling Catherine along.
Thankfully, Catherine’s superior strength and adaptability helped her, though she still felt uncomfortable all over, but at least by the ti they reached the palace gate, she could walk steadily without stumbling.
...
In the room, Qin Chu was calculating the ti.
Rose Vesper and Catherine should be arriving soon.
These days, Qin Chu had devoured several hundred demons that were lurking within the Imperial City, mostly caught live and controlled by Maritiss and Nicholas, then Qin Chu would go and inspect, pretending to check while completely devouring them, greatly increasing his strength.
He was now at Level 39.
There was no helping it, ever since he had broken through Level 20, the required Experience Value had exponentially increased. Originally, one Illusion Demon was enough for Qin Chu to skyrocket to Level 13 like taking a flight, but now, he needed dozens of demons to level up just once.
Though the speed of leveling up had decreased, his combat power was thodically increasing, especially his Magic Power, as after all, the demons he devoured were primarily Illusion Demons, which are great for lurking and spying.
Shaye’s recovery was also driven by the increase in Qin Chu’s strength.
He wasn’t sure to what extent Shaye’s power had recovered, but at least the form that appeared was much clearer than before.
Shaye was still perched lazily on Qin Chu’s shoulder, idly fiddling with his hair, "Hey, Catherine and Rose Vesper are about to arrive; you better control your emotions well, don’t let any flaws show."
Life is like a play, both sides are acting; it’s about who can carry off their role more convincingly.
The unfair thing is, one side had read the script beforehand.
"Do you admit that, although your strength has increased swiftly, you are still no match for those two won?"
"Are you worried about ?"
"Heh, keep dreaming. Whether you live or die, I couldn’t care less, but if your death causes problems for , that’s going to be troubleso."
"That’s really heart-breaking," Qin Chu bantered with Shaye, "But don’t worry, I’ve already adjusted my mindset perfectly, there won’t be any issues."
"My acting can withstand the test."
As the two of them talked, a knocking sound ca from the door.
They had arrived.
"Who is it?"
"It’s , Rose Vesper." Sure enough, Rose Vesper’s voice ca from outside the door.
This woman was very skilled in disguise, not the kind of transformation like Illusion Demons, but in hiding her true emotions. Despite hating Qin Chu to the core and wanting to dissect him, her voice remained sweet and tender, with no hint of animosity.
Shaye glanced towards the door. Despite the solid wooden barrier, it couldn’t obstruct Shaye’s sight.
"Just like you said, there really are two of them."
"Catherine is here too."
Qin Chu didn’t respond to Shaye’s words. Instead, he simply smiled, casually tugging at his hair, making what was previously neatly arranged hair beco as ssy as seaweed. His clothes, too, were stained with nurous smudges, deliberately crafting a disheveled appearance.
After preparing himself in this way, Qin Chu then stood up.
As soon as he opened the door, Rose Vesper’s tall, slender figure appeared before Qin Chu, still in the pure white Saintess costu, emanating a holy aura.
"Ah, Miss Rose Vesper, I apologize for my appearance, it’s quite improper!"
"As you know, I’ve been busy these past few days clearing the demons lurking in the city. Although my main job has been to hunt down those damned dirty rats, with Nicholas and Maritiss mostly taking action, there is still occasionally so disarray..."
Qin Chu rambled on and then suddenly, to his astonishnt, noticed Catherine behind.
The lady, fiery as flas, seed to radiate the scorching heat of the sun, even giving Qin Chu the illusion that his eyes might be burned blind.
Visibly, Qin Chu’s gaze stiffened, fixed unmovingly on Catherine.
Another damned adversary had appeared.
This woman, who once, drunk on alcohol, had circled his neck, complained to him about n’s lack of discernnt, lanting that no man wanted to marry her...
This woman who, under the influence of alcohol, drunkenly asked him if he wanted to marry her...
This was the woman whom Qin Chu had once respected as if she were his own sister.
He had regarded her as a sister, but she rely treated him as a clown.
Even the plan that ultimately betrayed him, Catherine was one of the main conspirators.
Always fighting side by side, the companion who had spent the most ti with Qin Chu had once, he thought, been simply worried about him. Now, looking back, it might have just been to ascertain his strengths and weaknesses.
Monts that flashed through his mind instantly agitated Qin Chu.
Compulsory Calmness activated several tis within a brief period.
Just like in the first week, that fla-like costu, boasting its wearer’s fierce wildness, under the reflection of the costu, made her already fair chest even more prominent, capturing Qin Chu’s gaze.
Despite being well over thirty, Catherine’s appearance bore no trace of age. Her figure was still athletic and supple, her skin delicate and shimring.
He rembered, the first ti he saw Catherine, his gaze had been stolen for nearly half a minute, almost completely succumbing to that imnse evil. It was only a displeased cough from Rose Vesper that had snapped Qin Chu out of it.
This ti, Qin Chu didn’t dare to look too long.
His cheeks flushed, he shifted his gaze aside, worried that if he continued to look, his rage might beco uncontrollable.
Earlier, he had boasted to Shaye that he had already adjusted his mood, certain his acting wouldn’t falter, but it seems he was far from ready!
That appearance made Rose Vesper sowhat disdainful, almost exactly like the reaction she had the first ti she t him. This man was too easily embarrassed, blushing at the sight of any slightly exceptional woman.
Rose Vesper felt that she was gradually grasping Qin Chu’s personality.
This man, though a hero, must have been from a very low social class in his original world, which could explain his inferiority complex, blushing in front of accomplished won, and acting normal only in front of a woman of lower status like Angelica.
In front of Angelica, who was a maid, this man could find back his confidence and dignity as a man.
Perhaps, this was the real reason Qin Chu chose Angelica?
Taking advantage of Qin Chu turning his head away, Rose Vesper and Catherine exchanged a look. Rose Vesper gestured with her mouth to Qin Chu.
Catherine’s face showed an indescribable disgust; she knew what Rose Vesper wanted her to do.
Her body resisted strongly, her stomach churning as if she might vomit at any mont.
For Lord Jie Luo.
Catherine repeated this phrase in her mind, bolstering her resolve.
She adjusted her face into a stiff smile, her lips trembling as she uttered:
"Ah, is this the hero? Co, let... let sister give you a hug..."
While speaking, Catherine stepped forward and hugged Qin Chu in one swift motion.
All these sacrifices, were for Lord Jie Luo!
