Silf was dying of sha and anger.
It was all Qin Chu’s fault.
If it wasn’t for Qin Chu, her body wouldn’t have mysteriously beco so sensitive, nor would her mind be constantly filled with such ssy thoughts, to the point where she now felt like she had lost face in a major way.
Her current condition was entirely Qin Chu’s fault.
Silf’s appearance seed to worry Qin Chu, "What’s wrong, are you injured from your fight with the demon earlier? Where is it, let have a look?"
That concerned look made Silf feel sowhat helpless.
Please, could you stop being so gentle with ?
If this continued, she would beco more and more confused.
Biting her lip gently, Silf stood up and shook her head at Qin Chu, "I’m okay, it’s just a small wound..."
But under Qin Chu’s insistent gaze, she ultimately couldn’t resist and, with a sigh, she unfastened her leather armor at the chest to reveal the delicate skin below her collarbone.
On her snow-white complexion crawled a crimson wound.
It held a kind of flawed beauty.
A layer of Holy Light erged in the palm of Qin Chu’s hand, and as the light enveloped the area, the wound began to heal, and the stabbing sensation gradually disappeared.
Silf tugged at the lining of her leather armor, her gaze complicated as she looked at Qin Chu again, "How did you end up in the demon’s territory?"
"And you just happened to save ."
It all seed a bit too coincidental.
"I heard that Aileen ca back, and then you, Asina, Aileen, and Aili left again. It seems Ronald got trapped in Luo ng’s territory." Qin Chu said gravely and in a low tone, "I was worried that you guys might be risking an adventure to rescue Ronald, worried you’d run into danger, so I rushed over here."
"Fortunately, I arrived in ti and managed to save you."
In fact, he had been here earlier, watching from a distance, only intervening and saving Silf when she was about to commit suicide.
He wasn’t done playing yet, so how could he let Silf die so easily?
Moreover, he hadn’t fully investigated the secret within Silf’s body yet; those Evil God’s threads could be quite useful at tis.
A complexity grew in Silf’s heart.
This Second Generation Qin Chu, he really was a good person.
Even though the forr Hero Team mbers hadn’t accepted him at all, he was still so concerned about everyone’s safety.
Poor guy, you have no idea that the previous Hero Team mbers all want to kill you, using you rely as a tool to completely squeeze out all your value, till the mont you drop dead.
"By the way, where are Asina, Aileen, and Aili?"
"Asina went to support Muse, over at Snow Mountain." Silf replied without thinking much and then her lips curled into a smirk, "As for Aili and Aileen, they should be quite safe by now."
"They’re safe? That’s good to know," Qin Chu said, seeming as if a great weight had been lifted from his chest.
Looking at Qin Chu, had Aili and Aileen still been in the demon’s territory, he would probably have rushed over to rescue them right away, wouldn’t he?
Such a foolishly good person.
Silf was becoming more and more irritable, torn between the resurrected Jie Luo and the insufferably good Qin Chu.
In her mind, images of the two n flickered and repeated endlessly, as if they would never stop.
At this mont, she desperately wished for sothing to happen that would make her completely forget the irritations in her heart.
Just like before, that crazy ti in the palace.
Whenever that happened, her mind had no ti to think of anything else; to respond and cooperate with Qin Chu was enough.
There was too much accumulated vexation in her heart; she needed release.
Placing her hand on her chest, Silf mustered up courage, took a deep breath, her gaze lingering and wistful,
"Mr. Brave..."
"I think I might still need to continue receiving treatnt."
"Eh? Are you feeling discomfort sowhere else?"
Silf pursed her lips, feeling her heartbeat accelerate, her eyes growing a bit hazy, "No, I an inside my body, my soul, those parts that have been eroded and tainted..."
Qin Chu suddenly understood.
Indeed.
With the contamination persisting inside her, Silf must be quite worried. She definitely needed urgent treatnt.
Qin Chu felt that was right, "So this ti, which treatnt thod are you thinking of using?"
Silf’s cheeks were flushed, almost wet to the touch, "The... the second one?"
"No, not that one. The third one, actually."
Silf, you seem a bit off, aren’t you?
Qin Chu smiled slightly, "Perhaps we could try several different thods and see which one works better."
Silf no longer cared if they were on a bare mountain top – the emptiness seed to make her more expectant, her hands exploring her body as if she wished to strip off her armor.
But this motion was halted by Qin Chu.
She looked at Qin Chu, puzzled. Was he refusing to treat her?
"Uh, I an... let’s just stay like this... In case of an attack, we’ll be able to react in ti," he said.
Qin Chu satisfied himself with a reasonable excuse.
...
On the other side.
The gloomy forest.
Because Silf had attracted all the demons, the escape route for Aileen and Aili seed quite smooth.
They had already left Luo ng’s territory, crossing over the boundary of human lands.
But neither of them let down their guard.
Night had completely engulfed the world, and the light from the kerosene lamp had grown a bit weaker, struggling to fend off the surrounding darkness.
For powerhouses like Aili and Aileen, the night did not greatly affect their vision, but this was, after all, a region where demons were active. Only with extre caution could one survive longer in such a dangerous world.
In the dense forest, the occasional calls of wild birds and insects added an eerie atmosphere to this world.
Aili’s small hand was still wrapped with silver tal wire, and a dagger was spinning deftly in Aileen’s palm.
After a long ti had passed, Aileen seed to no longer hold back:
"Before, why did you leave Silf there? Why didn’t you maintain Silf’s invisibility?"
This had been a nagging doubt in Aileen’s heart. They were supposed to be of one mind, yet this ti, Aileen could not comprehend what Aili was up to.
Still, she subconsciously cooperated with her sister.
Under the moonlight, Aili’s orange eyes looked a bit blood-red in the light of the fla. The killing intent she emitted in that instant made Aileen’s skin crawl.
"Who asked that bitch to try to steal Big Brother Jie Luo?" Aili said with a giggle, "And you see, Aili did nothing wrong. Aili didn’t dispel her invisibility—it was her own carelessness that got her noticed by demons, it has nothing to do with ."
Aileen chose to ignore the latter part of the sentence, her brows tightly knitted together: "Just for that reason, you want to kill Silf?"
"It was Luo ng who killed Silf, not ," Aili spread her hands.
"Well, if that girl could have just died quietly... if not, her fate could be even worse than Big Brother Ronald’s, right?"
"Of course, the reason isn’t just that." Aili stretched her arms and tried to puff out her chest, but her figure remained flat.
This made Aili a bit frustrated, and she pouted her lips.
"You may not have t Qin Chu, so you wouldn’t know, but Silf and Qin Chu have beco very close."
"To such an extent, it was clearly no longer just surveillance, or trying to flatter and to get close to Qin Chu on the pretext of resurrecting Big Brother Jie Luo."
"That woman did not share our intentions. Keeping her around would sooner or later be a disaster; it was better to dispose of her using Luo ng’s hand. After pulling it off, no one could find fault in it," Aili said with an innocent smile on her face.
That smile made Aileen’s scalp tingle.
Everyone thought that in the Hero Team, the ones most devoted to Jie Luo were Rose Vesper and Ronald... who would have known that Aileen would not be outdone and was even more pathological.
"Then, one day, will you also see as an obstacle and dispose of ?" Aileen’s eyes narrowed.
Aili glanced at her sister curiously and then, with a giggle, threw herself onto her, embracing the girl who, apart from her hairstyle, looked nearly identical to herself. She rubbed her head ssily against Aileen’s shoulder, "Sister, what are you talking about?"
"You are my sister."
"Have you forgotten? Ever since we were little, we’ve shared everything together, haven’t we?"
A smile also rippled across Aileen’s face. Yes, they had grown accustod to that way of life, inseparable.
They were the best of sisters, and nobody would think of tearing them apart.
It took a long ti before they finally separated.
"By now, Silf must have been captured alive by Luo ng. Who knows how many days she will survive? We’d better head back soon," Aili’s orange eyes swept the surroundings.
A few clusters of blue, ghostly flas drifted through the dense forest, which made Aili feel sowhat afraid.
By the ti Aili and Aileen returned to the camp, it was already the early morning of the next day.
The reinforcents from the Oville Empire had arrived.
Emperor Wozworth had issued an order, appointing Banar as the Vice General of the frontline army in recognition of his rits. Although it still wasn’t considered a particularly important position, Banar had already exceeded the highest military rank a commoner in the Empire could achieve, breaking through the limits of the common folk.
However, this troop was sowhat special.
In order to boost morale, Wozworth had even arranged for a Prince to go to the front as the Supre Commander, advising the Prince before departure to heed the opinions of the veteran soldiers at the front.
This was clearly a move to have you co for a gilded experience.
Just be a hands-off manager; leave the military matters to those soldiers with rich combat experience. Of course, if you could learn so tactics for commanding battles, that would be even better.
If even Wozworth had arranged for a Prince, then it went without saying for the other Nobles; each family had sent a descendant to the battlefield. To ensure these progenies wouldn’t perish at the hands of Demons, the Nobles had no choice but to arrange for a large number of private soldiers to protect them, causing the troop numbers to swell instantly.
In Wozworth’s eyes, the combat capability of these private soldiers was even more formidable compared to those Nobles. These were the true targets that Wozworth had his eye on.
The reinforcents brought a vast quantity of supplies, armant, and provisions, making the whole camp seem particularly lively.
The leading Prince was well aware of his lack of experience in managing these matters and, with his father’s hint, he promptly made Banar his deputy commander.
All the various matters involving the placent and distribution of supplies, the training of troops, and the collection of intelligence were thrown onto Banar’s shoulders. He was given the authority to command all soldiers, including those of the Nobles.
If anyone disobeyed orders, with his support, they could "act first and report later"... which ant to beat them up first, and if they still didn’t listen, then execute them.
After giving his instructions, the Prince imdiately took his Attendant and went to the Hero Team’s tent.
He was well aware of his true mission; matters such as frontline combat were secondary, at least for now.
In the presence of the Hero, fostering a closer relationship between the Hero and the Royal Family was his most important task.
Moreover, this ti he brought with him a special gift from Emperor Wozworth prepared for the Hero.
Plus, there was a piece of intelligence related to the Blissful Witch Association, an entity of great interest to Mr. Brave, involving the encroachnt of the Prince and the Blissful Witch Association!
