Qin Chu suddenly felt sothing stir in his heart, though he didn’t know how much ti had passed.

As his consciousness descended, he saw that within himself, the tender, green sprout had finally grown a second leaf after a long ti.

In that mont, Qin Chu was so moved he wanted to cry.

The roots were not just entwining the Fighting Elent and the Demon Core.

Qin Chu could even feel distinctly that those slender, spider silk-like roots seed to be taking root within the flesh and bones of his body.

This made Qin Chu increasingly worried, could this thing really grow into a big tree inside his stomach?

In his mind, he imagined tree roots piercing his body full of holes, branches burrowing out from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. Qin Chu shivered violently, feeling that sothing was quite amiss.

However, after the second tender leaf sprouted, it wasn’t entirely without benefits. Originally, the Devourer could only devour things like energy, power, and skills, but now, Qin Chu felt as if even the life force of the demons was being devoured along with them.

Yet, most of that life force was absorbed by the tender sprout.

Only wisps of it escaped, rging into Qin Chu’s body.

This life force replenished the physical strength that Qin Chu had depleted, allowing him to sustain an extended period of fighting... in every sense.

Vaguely, Qin Chu could also sense that the life force was nourishing his body, presumably also enhancing his lifespan...

Furthermore, after the second leaf had grown, the Star Fla Fighting Energy which had been suppressed finally broke through to the third level, which, compared to other benefits, was the least worthy of ntion.

The soldiers, from the ecstatic joy at the arrival of the reinforcents to the disappointnt upon realizing there were only a few hundred... A few hundred people couldn’t achieve much against so many demons.

Suddenly, they discovered that among these few hundred, there were so true forces of destruction, any single attack of theirs could clear out a large area.

Although the number of demons was enormously exaggerated, not one of them was of the Demon General level; they simply couldn’t withstand such powerful foes.

Even the fierce and cruel demons couldn’t bear the constant reaping of lives, and seeing their comrades fall in droves made them feel fear too.

Noticing that the situation looked grim, the demon army began to rout.

War, with its muddy pools of blood and countless dismbered limbs, was gradually drawing to a close.

Rose Vesper, Sherry, and many a nun were responsible for treating the wounded soldiers.

A brawny, majestic-looking man was tallying up the soldiers who had survived. His body was without armor, and between his back and chest were nurous wounds caused by the demons’ sharp claws.

He was clearly a very masculine man, but as he was counting, he suddenly broke down, squatting on the ground and weeping bitterly, his tears moistening the crimson blood traces on his dark face.

On the desolate, blood-stained battlefield, the man’s crying sounded particularly mournful.

The surrounding soldiers stood with bowed heads in silence, their faces also shrouded in sorrow.

Only the knights and holy n who had rushed from the Imperial City gossiped disdainfully on the side, a big man whimpering and crying was indeed disgraceful.

These people, even though Qin Chu had crushed a nun’s head, had not dared to flee, but when they were actually on the battlefield, fought lackadaisically at the very edges. When the demons fled, however, each was braver than the next, swinging their flamboyant weapons and continuously roaring to wipe out the demons completely.

Then, picking up so dirty demon heads from the ground, killed by who knows whom, they hung them on their waists as trophies, smugly proud.

And now, these contemptible beings were mocking that commander, ridiculing his cowardice and tears.

Qin Chu took a breath, slowly walked over, and crouched beside the commander, gently patting his shoulder.

The commander sniffed sharply, forcefully suppressing his sorrow, and raised his head to reveal a smile uglier than crying, "Mr. Brave..."

The people in this world looked more like Westerners from Earth, and Qin Chu’s appearance was quite unusual, making it not hard to recognize who he was.

"How are things?" Qin Chu asked.

The commander’s body trembled a bit, and finally, bearing his pain, he spoke, "A hundred thousand brothers... now... less than seven thousand remain."

A blood-soaked and brutal battlefield.

Over ninety thousand had died here; no wonder the commander was so saddened.

They were civilians, the vast majority of whom had never learned Fighting Energy or magic. They fought against the cruel demons relying solely on their brute strength and will.

They were the best of brothers, but now, barely one in ten remained.

There ca the sound of footsteps from behind.

It was Carol.

The Princess was still holding a black whip that looked like a venomous snake, the very whip that had strangled quite a few demons during the recent battle.

This girl was far superior to those so-called knights.

Even though her hair, her fair face, and her elegant princess gown were all stained with blood, she didn’t mind.

But now, Carol’s face looked very grim.

"Why are your weapons so battered and broken? Many people are even bluntly using sharp claws and nails from the dead Magic Beasts to make crude, rudintary weapons?"

"Why aren’t you wearing armor, but instead are draped in the furs of Magic Beasts?"
