"Go find a doctor to treat the wound!"
Julian Grant casually took the gauze to stop the bleeding and pressed it against the wound. "I’m fine, it’s just a scratch."
The wound wasn’t big, about two or three inches.
"Are you hurt anywhere else?"
Julian Grant smiled gently and teased, "No, don’t worry, I could still have a wedding night tonight!"
Josephine frowned, completely speechless at him.
At a ti like this, he could still joke around.
It seed he really was fine.
Looking at Nathaniel Gallagher.
The blood from his hand had already spread into a large pool on the ground. The fresh blood stained the collar and sleeves of his white shirt red.
Josephine felt a squeeze in her chest, wanting to express concern for him.
But seeing the butler and dical staff rushing over to treat his wound, she held back and didn’t say anything.
"President Gallagher, your hand is injured, please get it treated quickly."
The police asked seriously, "What happened with you all? Why did you fight?"
"Co to the station to make a statent!"
Julian Grant smirked awkwardly and denied imdiately, "It’s fine, no fight, we were just ssing around."
"ssing around?" The police looked at both of them in their disheveled and injured state, clearly not believing it.
"Really, we were just playing around, Mr. Gallagher and I are ’good friends’!" Julian Grant teased again casually.
He wasn’t afraid of going to the station.
He was more afraid of the matter being spread, worrying his grandparents. His hot-tempered father would definitely scold him harshly again. Maybe he would even kick him out to go abroad.
So, he just wanted to settle things quickly and not stir up any trouble.
"..." Nathaniel Gallagher looked at Josephine with a dark expression, saying nothing, his gaze shifting and unpredictable.
The police said, "Mr. Gallagher, your child was rescued thanks to Mr. Grant’s bravery and intelligence, managing to subdue five robbers."
"Those robbers are now sent to the hospital, and we’ll investigate the follow-up."
"For now, please follow us to the station to make a statent."
Nathaniel Gallagher replied coldly, "No, I need to go to the hospital now."
The police glanced at his hand, "Oh, alright! But first, get to the hospital for that wound."
Nathaniel Gallagher glared sinisterly at Josephine, his tone unyielding, "Co, go ho with ."
Josephine replied coldly, "Nathaniel, you should get to the hospital!"
"We shouldn’t et again before the next court session."
Nathaniel Gallagher swallowed hard, looking at her with a dark and shattered expression, "... Sweetheart, co ho with , and I’ll explain everything."
"You don’t need to explain anything, and I don’t want to hear any more excuses."
Nathaniel felt a twinge in his heart, "Co ho with , don’t make repeat it."
"Impossible." Josephine refused coldly.
Julian Grant snorted, "Can’t you understand human language? Josephine won’t go back with you."
"Shut up! It’s none of your business in matters between my wife and !"
Julian Grant retorted, "Josephine won’t be your wife much longer."
Nathaniel sneered darkly, "That’s for you to say. She’ll always be my wife in this lifeti."
With that, he stepped forward to grab her, "Josephine, co ho with ."
"Let go; I won’t go back with you."
Nathaniel, having lost too much blood, his lips had begun to turn colorless, his heart aching and feeling helpless, "Be good, co ho with ..."
As he spoke, his vision blurred, and his consciousness began to fade.
The butler was anxiously worried, "President Gallagher, your wound must be treated imdiately, you’ve lost too much blood."
"Doctor, quickly tend to President Gallagher’s wound."
"Mr. Gallagher, we must get you to the hospital imdiately!" The dical staff had already brought over a stretcher, hurriedly preparing to take him to the hospital!
"Josephine, Josephine..." Nathaniel staggered a couple of steps, wanting to grab Josephine.
But eventually, everything went black, and he lost consciousness.
"Quick, quick, quick!" The dical staff hurriedly lifted him onto the stretcher and then carried him onto the helicopter.
Josephine watched this scene, feeling a kind of unspeakable sadness and pain in her heart.
Four years of marriage.
She gave all her love, once believing their marriage would last a lifeti.
But in the end, it didn’t turn out as hoped, ending tragically.
Julian Grant looked on disdainfully, "Nathaniel Gallagher truly is damn crazy. Compared to him, I’m much more normal, right?"
"..." Josephine’s heart ached, and she remained silent.
Julian Grant continued to joke on his own, "See, every man makes mistakes. All n in the world are the sa. Are you regretting it now? Don’t you think I’m much better than him?"
Josephine remained silent for a long while, then sighed in self-deprecation, "... Yes, n are all the sa."
"In the end, love always ends the sa."
With that, she turned and walked toward the car.
She had tried love.
The outco was a tragic end.
She had tried marriage too.
And the outco was still a tragic end.
Suddenly, she felt lost, feeling that these things were vain and empty. No matter how grand the process, the result was always unsatisfactory. Perhaps she should stop pursuing feelings and pursue more aningful things in life instead.
Julian Grant was stunned for a few seconds and hurriedly caught up, "Josephine, did I say sothing wrong again?"
"Shall I take you ho?"
Josephine had already gotten into the car, lowered the window to look at him, "Julian, thank you for today."
"Goodbye."
Julian imdiately opened the car door and got into the passenger seat, "Josephine, I didn’t drive, could you give a ride back to Caldwen?"
"..." Josephine nodded, not rejecting.
Then, she started the car and drove in the direction of Caldwen.
"Josephine, you know, today I was really happy..."
Josephine drove, responding coldly, "Julian, don’t waste your efforts."
"..." Julian paused, not understanding, and looked at her.
"None of it matters."
"What do you an?"
Josephine said faintly, "It ans nothing, I just want to tell you, there can’t be anything between us. Don’t waste your ti on , it’s pointless."
Julian felt a pang in his heart, a wave of frustration flooding him.
Falling silent for a while.
He suddenly smiled playfully, teasing without seriousness, "Hah~ Do you think I’m really trying to pursue you?"
"Hahaha~, don’t you know yet? I just love to joke around, don’t take it to heart, I... I was just playing with you!"
The last sentence was filled with a hint of bitterness in his tone.
Josephine listened, saying nothing in return, just silently driving the car.
After two minutes of silence.
Julian couldn’t hold back and subconsciously repeated, "I... I was really just ssing with you, you didn’t really take it seriously, did you?"
Josephine remained silent, as if she hadn’t heard anything.
Her current thoughts only wanted complete emptiness, her brain not wanting to deal with any issues.
"Don’t worry, I really don’t have that thought."
"...Alright, I... I..." Julian Grant’s mind was a ss; he didn’t know what else to say.
Since the day he t her, she had been so cold and indifferent, oblivious to romance, impervious to persuasion.
And he was a typical fiery Leo, bold and passionate, unfettered and carefree. Full of machismo, yet rebelliously proud inside.
But when fire encounters earth, it can’t burn at all.
He conceded.
...
An hour later.
"We’re in Caldwen now, where are you going?"
Julian Grant checked his watch, it was already four in the morning, "Josephine, it’s so late, let book a hotel for you to rest, and you can return tomorrow."
"It’s fine, I’m not used to staying in hotels."
"Then shall I drive you back?"
Josephine Thompson furrowed her brow, "Stop ssing around. Or where do you want to go? I’ll drop you off, but I need to head back quickly."
Julian Grant, feeling helpless, could only na a six-star hotel.
"Take to The Peninsula International Hotel!"
"Alright." Josephine Thompson opened the navigation and drove him there.
Twenty minutes later.
Arrived at the hotel entrance.
"We’re here. Get out of the car!"
Julian Grant looked worried, "It’s already past 4 AM, you’ve been rushing around all day, I really don’t feel comfortable with you driving back."
"I’ve reserved a presidential suite here, why don’t you rest for a while, then go back after you’ve recovered? Rest assured, I won’t disturb you if you go to the hotel alone."
Even though he had multiple luxury hos in Caldwen.
He preferred hotels because unlike ho, where a large crew of servants and bodyguards were constantly watching.
So he had a presidential suite reserved year-round in Caldwen’s most expensive and best hotel.
"It’s okay, going back won’t take long, just two hours."
"Josephine..."
Josephine Thompson, a bit irritated, "Please stop nagging, I really need to hurry back."
"Besides, there are two people with , you don’t need to worry."
Julian Grant glanced at Ruby and Sophia in the back seat and had no choice but to get out of the car.
"Be careful then, give a call when you get to Audenburg, okay."
"Alright." Josephine Thompson responded perfunctorily.
"I’ve been adding you on WeChat, why don’t you accept? Add on WeChat so we can contact each other if needed."
"I lost my phone; I’ll add you when I get back!"
"Here’s my business card, don’t lose it again."
"Got it." Josephine Thompson casually took it and placed it in the car compartnt.
...
On the return journey.
Ruby took over driving while Josephine Thompson rested in the back.
"President Thompson, we’ve arrived in Audenburg. Where should I take you?"
"Take to Waterside Pavilion!"
"Alright."
Ruby drove her to Waterside Pavilion; it was already 7 AM.
Back ho, Josephine Thompson was utterly exhausted and drained to the extre.
After a simple hot shower, she collapsed into sleep.
She slept until evening.
When she awoke.
It was already 10 PM.
Auntie Linton asked with concern, "Miss, you’ve slept all day, would you like to eat sothing?"
Josephine Thompson felt tired still even after waking up, "Cook so noodles!"
Auntie Linton nodded, "Okay, I’ll cook now."
Ever since moving out of Mooncove Bay, Auntie Linton had been living in Waterside Pavilion, maintaining the household.
There were two other servants at ho, making it three people guarding the house.
While Auntie Linton went to cook noodles.
Josephine Thompson took out collected paint materials and started sorting them.
She was halfway through sorting.
"Ding dong ding dong!"
The doorbell rang.
"Lana, go see who it is?"
"Alright."
Lana went to the door to check.
Just as she reached the entrance, she heard the sound of a password being entered.
"Beep beep beep!"
"Ka-chunk!" With a sound.
The password lock opened, and the door was forcefully pushed open.
Nathaniel Gallagher entered like a nacing specter, face filled with dark fury.
Lana jumped in surprise, "President Gallagher, why... why are you here?"
"Where’s Josephine?"
"The miss is... in the bedroom!"
Upon hearing this, Nathaniel Gallagher headed straight for the bedroom door.
"Miss, President Gallagher is here." Lana quickly went to inform Josephine Thompson.
Josephine Thompson heard the voice and instinctively stepped out to see.
As she walked out of the bedroom, she collided with Nathaniel Gallagher heading her way.
He wasn’t wearing a suit, only a black shirt and trousers. Engulfed in a tumultuous aura of pressure and maliciousness, his stern face seed to have a layer of frost.
Josephine Thompson glanced at him, and her body instantly felt a shiver. She hurriedly retreated to the room and imdiately turned to close the door.
But it was already too late.
"Bang!" A loud noise.
Nathaniel Gallagher kicked the door open, breaking into the bedroom like a beast claiming its prey.
Josephine Thompson was terrified, letting out a scream, "Ah--"
"Nathaniel Gallagher, get out!"
"Thud!" He closed the door behind him and locked it.
"What are you doing? Go away, I don’t want to see you."
Tension surged towards her, causing Josephine Thompson to retreat step by step.
Nathaniel Gallagher stared at her ominously, loosening his tie, and approached her.
"Don’t co near." Josephine Thompson realized his intention and turned to run towards the balcony.
Nathaniel Gallagher chased after her, grabbing her nightgown collar, and heavily threw her onto the bed.
"Ugh..."
