Soon, the hovercar reached the halfway point between Federation University and the military garrison.

The sky had just begun to lighten. The supervising teacher ca out from the front cabin, carrying several large boxes of Nutrient Liquid, and started handing them out.

"This is today’s breakfast. Hurry up and finish it within five minutes."

"The Nutrient Liquid needs ti to digest and convert into energy. We’ll start training the mont we land, so don’t complain that it tastes bad!" Teacher Ning was incredibly intimidating when she put on a stern face.

"’It tastes bad, it tastes bad!’ Do you know what standards we use to train cha Soldiers? We’re training you to beco soldiers on a battlefield!"

"On the battlefield, when you’re starving and freezing, are you going to care whether it tastes bad or not? Overcoming all obstacles is the first lesson you have to learn! Now drink up, all of you!"

"If you don’t drink it and end up fainting during training, we’ll just haul you straight back. You can figure out so other way to make up for your military training credits!"

This was a pure and simple threat.

The credits from the freshman military training were critically important. Graduate without them? You’d have to be so kind of prodigy destined for greatness for that to be even remotely possible.

After the stunt the teacher had pulled with the hovercar earlier, the students were all a little spooked. They obediently started drinking their breakfast Nutrient Liquid.

The Nutrient Liquid, specially supplied by Federation University, was free for all students in the cha Single Soldier System. It was high in nutrients, packed with abundant and effective energy, and inexpensive. It was almost perfect. Its only flaw was that it tasted even worse than the regular kind.

"..."

In an instant, countless students inside the hovercar grimaced in agony.

In the front cabin, Teacher Ning’s severe expression instantly lted into a broad smile the mont she closed the door.

The door was exceptionally soundproof. After shutting it, she casually set her own tube of Nutrient Liquid aside. Her stomach rumbled. She shot the Nutrient Liquid a look of utter disgust.

After that, she pulled a bento box filled with natural food out of a thermal container in the cockpit.

Just as she opened the bento box, a comms link connected with the other hovercars in their convoy, and the faces of the other supervising teachers popped up on the projection screen.

Well now, every single one of them was eating.

"What’d you guys get?"

"I just opened mine. Let’s see... looks like radishes and so kind of at. Wow, there’s actually at! I wonder if this chef knows how to cook it well."

"It has to be good. Our departnt spared no expense this ti and hired a restaurant chef to cook for us specifically."

"Whoa, I got potatoes and so leafy greens. This is delicious!"

All eight teachers were practically cheering with joy at not having to drink Nutrient Liquid.

The minutes ticked by. After their al, the teachers ended the call. Teacher Ning carefully wiped her mouth while looking in the mirror, straightened her clothes, and in a single second, her stern expression snapped back into place. Then, she walked out of the front cabin.

By this ti, the military garrison had co into full view of the students through the hovercar’s transparent windows.

Jiang Qiuqiu also watched everything below with curiosity.

-

The hovercar drew closer and closer to the garrison. As the distance shrank, everyone noticed the atmosphere around them growing more and more bustling.

It was just after seven in the morning and the sky had only just brightened, yet their ears were already filled with the roars of combat and thunderous, chanted slogans.

No one could remain idle in an environnt like this.

Just as everyone was disembarking from the hovercars, a platoon of soldiers in dark green uniforms ran past not far in front of them, their steps perfectly synchronized as they shouted powerful slogans.

Their gazes were fixed forward, their movents were uniform, and they were clearly well-disciplined.

Seeing the soldiers’ formation, the disembarking students couldn’t help but glance back at their own group. They were a complete ss—slumped over, with no sense of formation, still sluggish from the Nutrient Liquid. They looked exactly like a disorderly mob.

So secretly straightened their spines.

So imdiately perked up.

So imdiately quickened their pace.

So quickly began to form lines.

The supervising teachers watched it all unfold, exchanged a glance, and a hint of a smile touched their eyes.

And Jiang Qiuqiu, standing in the midst of the crowd, watched it all as well.

’How interesting.’
