Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Inexplicable Hunger
The original Jiang Qiuqiu had been a manual laborer. Though she had been tested to have B
spiritual power, she had never undergone systematic training and couldn’t demonstrate the true strength of a B
ranker. Still, there was no way she should be this exhausted from just making a few atballs.
’Did my arrival cause this body to weaken?’
No... Jiang Qiuqiu clutched her chest, her face slightly pale. If the original owner’s physical sensations weren’t deceiving her, her body shouldn’t have deteriorated.
’Is it because I just got here and haven’t fully gained control of this body? But why does all the fatigue hit after I cook...’
Before Jiang Qiuqiu could figure it out, a savory, fragrant aroma invaded her mind. Her small, round eyes suddenly fixed on the pile of atballs by the kitchen counter. In that instant, Jiang Qiuqiu felt hungry—exceptionally hungry.
Her sixth sense told her that she needed to replenish her energy with a large amount of food.
The fried atballs she made were a million tis tastier than Nutrient Liquid, anyway. Grabbing a spoon, Jiang Qiuqiu sat at the table and started to eat.
The texture of Bibi Beast at was very similar to beef. The premium at was processed into a coarse mince—not too fine—then rolled into balls. They were fried until just right and then scooped out. A single bite revealed that the atballs still retained so of their chewiness, making for a richer, more complex texture.
The only downside was that they were indeed too small; she could eat several in one mouthful. Fortunately, she had made plenty, so she didn’t have to worry about running out!
After stuffing herself for a good while, the feeling of extre exhaustion in her body finally began to fade. But while the physical fatigue was gone, the ntal weariness remained. Jiang Qiuqiu rubbed her head, not even having the energy to check the comnts before hastily collapsing into bed.
Everything fell silent for Jiang Qiuqiu, but the aftershocks of her ’gourt food’ were still hitting the 110 lucky people chosen by Lady Luck today.
For example, Qiudao and Changbei.
After devouring the fried atballs in one go, Changbei fell into a state of pure bliss. "This is shocking! Is this really the sa Bibi Beast at we usually eat? I feel like my sense of taste has entered another dinsion."
"I was so shortsighted, so ignorant! This person isn’t making pet food; this is an inheritor of Ancient Earth’s culinary legacy!"
"This deliciousness is simply unstoppable!"
He praised Jiang Qiuqiu passionately, then expressed his dissatisfaction with his partner’s silence. "Qiudao, why aren’t you saying anything?!"
"It is indeed delicious, but we are Federation Soldiers. We must maintain a calm deanor—"
"But we’re not at war right now."
"Even so, we must uphold the image of the First Legion—"
"But there’s no one else here besides us."
Qiudao was still talking, but Changbei suddenly stared at his head and chuckled. "Ha, Qiudao, you’re putting on such a front."
Qiudao froze, not understanding why Changbei had suddenly changed the subject.
"You obviously love it, but you keep telling yourself to be calm, be calm."
"I never said I didn’t like it, I just—"
"You think it’s to die for, don’t you?" Changbei suddenly leaped forward and pinched Qiudao’s ear. "You’re so relaxed your beast ears popped out!"
Suddenly having his fluffy ear grabbed, Qiudao’s cheeks flushed red, and he turned his head away, looking a little angry.
Changbei went, "Eh," feeling like he might have gone too far. He imdiately let his own striped beast ears and tail pop out. "Qiudao, I didn’t an it! The atballs are so good, it’s totally normal for your ears to show! See? Not only are my ears out, but my tail is too!"
He chattered on, circling Qiudao, who raised a hand and pushed his face away. "Alright, I get it."
Just as the two were happily interacting, a low, deep voice cut in. "Qiudao, Changbei, what are you two doing?"
The beastly parts they both had showing all froze stiff.
