Chapter 2020: Chapter 1766: Venting Frustration
Da Liang listened to the crowd’s chatter but didn’t join in.
He knew everyone was just talking.
If influencers were really so easy to invite and so effective at selling, why had they been rejected before?
Thinking about it, it had to be the influencer recomnded by the leaders that was extraordinary.
He looked down at his phone—unbelievably, the tens of thousands in sales continued to rise!
The number of viewers in the livestream was also increasing, likely because of the after-work hours, already soaring to over 400,000.
That ans, on average, every seven or eight viewers has made a purchase!
How is it happening so fast?!
The secretary also asked him seriously:
"Da Liang, I feel like his pitch is simple and honest, why is it selling so fast?"
Da Liang couldn’t answer.
Da Liang wanted to know too.
He finally thought about it and simply said to the growing crowd around him:
"Uncle, if we understood, we wouldn’t be struggling to sell our grapes."
"I see they’re very strict about grading the fruits, even a slight flaw keeps them out of the good category."
"Anyway, since they’re not opening the doors for us, I’ll go to the orchard and mark the good fruits myself, it’ll make selling easier."
Upon hearing this, the secretary quickly wiped his sweaty forehead:
"Right, right, they’re selling so fast, how can we keep up with the shipnts? By the ti it’s our turn, it might be hard to find workers, I better go back and sort it all out!"
In the crowd, the two slipped away like fish swimming upstream from the noisy chaos.
Just before starting his electric scooter, Da Liang glanced once more at his phone with a complex expression:
"Brother Tao’s best batch of grapes are already sold out."
The secretary had just swung his leg over the scooter’s backseat and awkwardly looked forward: "150 of 25,000 orders..."
Gasp!
He couldn’t dare to imagine how much money that is!
That money...
The secretary quickly beca nervous:
"Will the influencer take the money and not pay us?"
"How could that be?"
Da Liang had so vague concerns before, but seeing the bustling livestream, he realized it was just worrying over nothing.
"Uncle, you don’t understand how powerful this model is—forget a few million, even if you add another zero, this account is still worth more."
"Besides, they said the transfer will happen in half a month. I reckon it’s not for earning interest, but because the platform has requirents—paynt is transferred back once the client confirms receipt."
There’s usually a ten-day to half-month period for confirmation of receipt.
If his grapes could sell this smoothly, a half-month wouldn’t be a problem; there would be no objections.
Rembering this, both felt full of confidence about their own few acres of grapes.
anwhile, the three buyers waiting at the village entrance were looking increasingly unhappy.
More and more locals were coming, gossiping among themselves, while keeping an eye on the livestream and realizing they had been outmaneuvered.
"Damn it."
One muttered angrily, "We’ve been here guarding for days, keeping secrets, spreading rumors... now soone else has snatched the fruit."
Literally snatched the fruit.
"Exactly!"
The other two echoed with frustration, "We offer three, they offer 50, and sold out in a heartbeat, isn’t that slap in the face?"
"If this continues, how can we still source here in the county?"
No way!
The few stared at their phones helplessly, frustration bubbling over, unwilling to swallow this loss:
"Let’s go, let’s all open our phones and download this app! Let’s watch the livestream and leave comnts, curse them!"
But their colleague wasn’t very cooperative:
"Do you see how many are watching? We’re just a few fish in a pond full of tadpoles in early sumr, who’s gonna notice us?"
The curses wouldn’t even show long enough before being drowned out.
"Here’s the idea." The slightly younger one contemplated:
"My niece is into stanning celebrities, she even works on their rankings and data every day, knows lots of folks who praise or bash them online."
"I’ll go ask if there’s soone who specializes in this—what do they call them? Oh! It ca to , those professional ’internet trolls’ to do this job."
"Just say the grapes from Baiyu County are overpriced and taste awful, I refuse to believe they can keep selling after that."
