All eyes were now on the podium, waiting for what Alessandro would say, but the man stood rooted to the spot, speechless.
"Daniel left my house long ago. I don’t give a shit enough to have him murdered," Alessandro’s voice finally cut through the tension. As if controlled like puppets, all eyes swung back to the police in unison.
Detective Lawrence was leading the officers, and he remained silent, observing. He brought out his notebook, stepped to the center of the gathered guests, and faced the family.
"Nicole was first sent by you to seduce Xylander Wolfe, to shatter his marriage—a marriage you didn’t approve of. Is that right?" Lawrence threw the question so suddenly it nearly swept Alessandro off his feet.
Mr. Lancaster trembled, his confidence wavering, until Grandma Dorothy secretly held his hand and whispered, "Man up, Son, or everything you fought for will vanish! Is that what you truly desire?" Her words slowly steadied him.
"His marriage to Daniel is none of my business. Last I checked, Daniel isn’t even my son to begin with, so why would I bother?" Mr. Lancaster fired back.
Everyone watched the drama with keen interest, eyes glued to see if the famous Lancaster would finally fall. But ti would tell—so far, he was holding his own.
"Really?" Lawrence smiled, his intimidating gaze piercing through Mr. Lancaster. Why was he so good at this? And what was that smile?
"But last I heard, you called your son a disgrace and said you wouldn’t allow ’a cunt like that’ to stay with you. So, not only are you homophobic, but you also hated him. That ans you had motive to destroy his marriage... and to kill him. Sir, you’re coming with ." Lawrence declared without batting an eye, then commanded the officers beside him. "Handcuff him. If no strong evidence is provided for bail, I’m afraid he’ll be sentenced to imprisonnt—possibly death." The cold words made the Lancaster family shudder.
Celeste, as shaless as ever, ran forward and shielded Mr. Lancaster. "He didn’t do it! I know my husband—I know him so well!" she ranted like a lovesick fool.
Angelo, silent since arriving at the dinner party, knew why Celeste was doing this—to impress his father and secure her place in the mansion. It was a foolish move; she would be used and discarded, with no one left to care.
Lawrence, losing patience, barked at his n, "I said arrest him! I don’t care if she loves her husband or not—he committed a cri, and he will be apprehended!" The officers rushed forward, but Celeste made another shocking move.
She fell to her knees, crying. "I did it! I was the perpetrator. Please, leave my husband out of it!" she lanted.
Lawrence was confused. Was she in her right mind? Her devotion was clear, but it couldn’t be true—she couldn’t have done it.
An uproar swept through the party grounds, everyone whispering furiously. Angelo and Liliana gasped at their mother’s confession. Now they understood—their mother was being used. She was going to be arrested and left to rot in prison with no one to help her. It was the perfect way to rid of her, and it proved just how conniving and dangerous their father was. How had he predicted this, to brainwash her into taking the bla?
"Please, don’t take my husband! I did it, okay? Arrest !" she cried, but Lawrence didn’t comply.
He could see a mother’s pain in her eyes. Sothing wasn’t adding up—they were clearly missing a detail.
"How could a mother try to murder and destroy her own son’s life? It’s impossible and irrational. Stop this nonsense of trying to make arrest you," Lawrence dismissed her, making Alessandro frown.
Who the hell is this detective, and why don’t I know him?
anwhile, opposite the unfolding drama, Daniel watched it all with his companions.
"How can she be so stupid? Doesn’t she know she’s being used?" Daniel shook his head in irritation. He didn’t feel bad for the pathetic woman, but it was clear his plan had been predicted, and Alessandro had used this to counterattack. Surprisingly shrewd.
"Co on, guys..." Daniel was then flanked by Draven and Xylander, who held him by both arms, accompanied by Adrian at the front, gun in hand.
For a mont, no one noticed them—until a girl scread, and all eyes fell on the gorgeous five, who looked like they had crawled out of another dinsion. The crowd gulped.
Daniel’s arrival made them jump, shouting and praying. "Ghost! Ghost!" they scread in unison, but Daniel ignored the cries.
This was the attention and coback he wanted. His pheromones—the heavy scent of strawberries—hung in the air, mixed with the dominating pheromones of the Alphas accompanying him. Their presence was so overpowering that no one could look them directly in the eye. With each step, it felt as if the world itself held its breath.
A chilling silence followed. All eyes were on Daniel, moving with stunning grace.
"Is that Daniel Lancaster?!" they scread, sounding almost insane. He couldn’t be a ghost—that was all they whispered.
Then, a ssage popped up on screens across the venue: Daniel Lancaster is alive. It seed the female designer had succeeded in spreading the information to everyone she knew.
Celeste, unable to control herself, ran forward madly, trying to hug Daniel, but Adrian pushed her aside so fiercely that she landed hard on her butt.
"And who are you, trying to touch him like that?" Adrian’s commanding voice roared. Lawrence imdiately recognized him—Adrian Valez—and beca intensely focused. This was the ti to arrest that motherfucker. And looking at Daniel, Lawrence facepald internally. Why the hell is he still alive? I thought they confird his death.
Daniel could see the disbelief in everyone’s gaze, especially his father’s. Alessandro looked like he might pass out any minute, his body trembling violently. When Dorothy tried to speak, he pushed her aside. "Bitch, let speak!" he spat, shaking to his bones.
"Who are you, imposter?!" Alessandro barked, then put on a psychotic smile and began giggling. "This was your plan all along! You haven’t changed a bit—trying to fra for killing you, Daniel? Is that the cheap trick in your book? Have you forgotten who I am?" he spat. Daniel kept his cool, his hands linked with Draven and Xylander, which ignited several gasps from the crowd.
People were going wild, and Daniel’s social dia handles flooded with posts. Their legendary king was back—this was the best coback ever.
"Nice to see you, Father. Your useless son is finally back—isn’t that sweet?" Daniel flashed a smile, one that made Angelo and Lily deeply uncomfortable.
"And of course, the boy who was killed was my look-alike. I didn’t do it to fra you—it’s not my fault you tried to kill but ended up with my double instead." Another wave of gasps burst from the crowd, many nearly screaming.
"Don’t forget the little girl who was sexually abused to fra my husband. You did that, Daddy. You’re not only a murderer but also a pedophile. Detective, add that to the charges." Daniel still wore a smile plastered on his face.
Alessandro’s face nearly fell apart in shock. Sexual abuse? When did that happen?
By then, the dia sward around Alessandro, trying to take his picture. He attempted to hide, but it was useless.
"Oh, it’s all fruitless, Daddy. Your downfall is just beginning—this is only the tip of the ocean. I have more surprises. I hope you make it out from the death sentence hanging over your throat." Daniel’s face turned venomous, his expression darkening.
