Life works in mysterious ways, and no one had told Xylander he would find himself in this situation—crying, no less, for Daniel to be well. That possibility had never entered his mind.

Eyes puffy and red, he paced the hospital corridors in the hot afternoon. It was getting late, and yet no reasonable results about Daniel had co. It terrified him to the bone. Draven was as silent as a graveyard, refusing to speak or add anything useful.

Xylander’s eyes peered at the ward door where Daniel was being cared for, and a chill crossed his spine. This fear, hanging on his neck and twisting in his stomach, was a living thing. It made Draven tremble as he watched the door for any slight movent.

They had won, yes. After everything, they could finally have what they wished for as a family. But now, it was up to Daniel to make it out of this state. If he didn’t, then everything was over.

Draven tried to wipe away the sickening thought. Deciding to keep himself busy, his mind drifted once more—this ti to Alexander. What had happened to that amazing guy? After that brutal accident, he hadn’t seen him. Xylander had complained about missing a piece of himself; both Daniel and Alex were his ribs. Now that both were nowhere close, Xylander was like a lost fragnt. Daniel was close, but still far, because they couldn’t reach him.

Minutes dragged on, excruciatingly slow. It was as if the day had decided to be hard on them, and Draven was experiencing it third-hand. He was hungry, starving, and tired. Looking at Xylander, he seed to be in the sa state, but Draven couldn’t say anything. Xylander was like a ticking ti bomb; trying to engage him might trigger an argunt or, worse, a verbal fight.

As he thought, he began to reminisce about his past and his looming marriage to Beatrice Bradford—sothing that was never going to happen. Draven knew what he did was wrong, but he had used the girl. She had connections, and they had helped find Xylander, helped him, and in the process, locate Daniel. Even now, that had solved the issue on Xylander’s head, though he didn’t know how. Still, thanks to Beatrice, it had all worked out. Now the bitch would have to rest, because he wasn’t getting married to her over his dead body. Imagine, his plan hadn’t even worked; he wanted to practice law, but it never got the chance to shine.

He sighed in defeat.

His parents, too, were now struggling. Last month, he had learned the core reason for their disappearance: the nature of their work. Who would have known his parents were drug dealers and lords? "I will go around and tell the world about your parents, and that won’t just ruin your life—it will claim their lives, too," Beatrice had warned him seriously. He just laughed now.

Fuck his parents. They hadn’t cared when he was suffering. As far as he was concerned, he never had parents. All through his stay in New York City, it was Butler Fin who took care of him, and Charles McCall, a beautiful friend. If not for them, loneliness would have killed him.

As he drifted back to the past, trying to dig up a mory of Daniel, he recalled when they first t at the supermarket during his heat. How it had transpired, and damn, Daniel’s boldness had enchanted him. "It was sweet, how a person could enchant that fast," Draven exclaid thoughtfully, smiling to himself despite the sad situation. "I’ve never fallen for a stranger that quickly in my life."

Daniel was sure a chaotic person, and he would love for one of their kids to embody that personality. Damn, it would be beautiful and funny to watch a little Daniel running around the house. He giggled, then stopped short when his eyes fell on a shirtless man by one of the sealed ward windows.

Wait. Why did he look so familiar? He faced the side where he saw him. The man’s head was leaning against the pane, and he wore a conflicted look, one that reeked of guilt and failure.

"Where have I seen that guy from..." Draven wondered. Then it clicked: the villa. The shirtless brothers who were dangerously hot, both workers who, for a strange reason, liked walking shirtless. Even now, one still was. What was wrong with him?

But why was he here? Did he perhaps bring Daniel? How did he know? Sothing wasn’t right. From where he stood, Draven could feel a dangerous aura hanging over the passage. The guy never turned, his face cold as ice, peering into the window as if he could smash it at any mont.

If he truly was the one who brought Daniel here, what about Michael? The blonde guy who had given him the letter and his number—he was the one who had sent that text. So what did all this an? Did Daniel get himself entangled with lots of people during their absence? What was the possibility that this shirtless man helped end Xylander’s sentence?

Should he go and talk to him to find out? That would be great, if he didn’t snub him. But who was he, anyway? Just a worker? No, he shouldn’t say that. It was rude.

He cautioned himself and got alert imdiately when he saw Xylander spring up.

What had happened? Before he could ask, the door to the ICU finally opened. Two females stepped out; he recognized one as Ruth. Sothing wasn’t right. Oh God, please don’t do this to us.

Draven rushed to her, heart pounding profusely, with Xylander running right beside him.

"Doctor, please, what’s the condition of the patient? Is he okay?" Xylander asked, his voice raspy and deep. It was obvious he had been crying. "What next are we going to do? Tell us, don’t keep us in suspense."

Ruth looked at the n before her and wondered how Daniel got so lucky to pull in such angels. What she was seeing were n who would kill for him. Damn, it was evening already, the sun set, and they were still seated here waiting. Had they even eaten?

"Calm down, both of you. He is out of danger, and we have figured out a way to save him and the baby. Although, there is a repercussion: he won’t be able to give birth again. That’s a result of the damage to his womb," Ruth explained.

Draven’s eyes bulged completely.

"From my observation, it’s like he was stabbed right in the stomach, and it affected the womb region. Thankfully, it didn’t reach the baby, but the womb was the consequence," she broke the news to them.

Their faces turned extrely pale, every bit of color draining away.

"What do you an his womb is gone? Is he alright? Would he survive with that..." Xylander asked the more pressing questions. More babies? He was perfectly okay with the two, even if they weren’t biologically his. As long as they were Daniel’s and they were living together, he would call them his child. He loved Daniel, no matter what. Baby or not, he didn’t give a fuck. His sweet hubby—was he still breathing? Because if he wasn’t, then his life was over, too.

"You people should take a deep breath. I told you previously that he was out of danger, so ease yourselves," Ruth told them carefully. "The surgery is still going on, and although it seems like he might not make it, it’s fine. The issue will be over soon. Just wait a bit, or go and eat. He will be okay."

A wash of relief flooded their faces. Xylander and Draven both began to smile—a sohow painful smile. Realizing Daniel had lost his womb in the process of trying to save their two babies made them both sad. Whether Daniel would be happy with this was a story for another day. Right now, they wanted him to survive the surgery and see them.

One thing occurred to Xylander, and he found himself running back to Ruth to ask. "Can’t we go in? At least to hold his hands, calm him down during this process, assure him he isn’t alone..." Xylander begged, his eyes screaming of a man in desperate need for his partner to co back.

"You know you can’t do that. It’s against the rules of the hospital," Ruth stated, watching Xylander’s pitiful look.

Xylander refused to believe that. Ruth could do sothing. At least she could help them.

"Please. It’s my husband. I can’t be far from him. It’s been so long since I’ve seen him, and I promised to stay close when he was giving birth, no matter what. I can take anything I see there," Xylander pointed out.

Ruth felt her hands were tied, but she couldn’t look past this. She nodded. Of course he could join his dear husband. At least let her do sothing nice for the couple to rember her by.

Happily, he jumped in joy, shouting that he could now see him. He would be touching him after how many weeks and months. He signaled to Draven, who ran to him, and they both followed Ruth back into the room.

Just as they saw earlier, it was still dim with red light. Daniel’s stomach was being worked on, but instead of being disgusted by the dical activities, Xylander walked closer and held Daniel’s soft hands tightly.

"Love you, Daniel. I am here now. No one will take you away from us, not even dear old death," he assured and clasped their hands together. Draven placed his head on the bedside close to Daniel and sighed in exhaustion.

"Oh, Daniel, please co back to us..."

A sound of soft cries startled them both. They snapped their gaze to see two babies in the hands of a doctor.

"They are here...!" the man scread in excitent.

Xylander, with trembling hands, stood to carry them. "No, I can’t. They’re so tiny. I might crush them..." He stepped back, breathing hard and gasping loudly.

Draven softly held his shoulders in comfort. "It’s okay. Let show you how." The cute fellows were given to him to carry. Draven held one, leaving the other. They were both males, tiny males.

"Oh, cuties. Your mama is going to be so proud," he laughed hard in joy and kissed the cheek of the baby, even though it was still bloody. After Xylander had held the other, he fearfully placed it back with speed. "I got scared... I don’t want to drop him..." he spoke, sounding like a cute little girl.

Oh, Xyle...

The babies were taken to be cleaned off while Daniel was issued dication. He didn’t wake up yet, but he was still breathing, and Xylander gladly waited. It wasn’t bad for him to wait for his Queen to awake. Sa with Draven.

Two Days Later...

Draven was in the hospital room, feeding one of the babies a bottle of milk while Xylander dressed the other slowly. In the process, Daniel’s eyelashes fluttered. He opened his eyes to the harsh sunlight, groaned, and attempted to sit up. A sharp pain enveloped his stomach, and he fell back on the bed.

"Fuck !! What the heck is this..." he asked no one in particular.

Hearing voices close by, he looked. Everything froze when he saw Draven and Xylander close by—and not just them. Two cute babies were with them.

"Wait... are those mine? I’ve given birth? How? When..?" He couldn’t believe it. He wanted to stand up and hug them but was interrupted by the door opening. Another face appeared with his two besties.

Shock hung in his throat—sa with Xylander and Draven, who gawked.

"Is that him..?" Draven whispered.

Norman and Thomas gestured for him to co forward. "Look who we found, Daniel..."

The blonde figure erged with an enormous flower bouquet, rich in scent. He knelt down and whispered, "Missed you, Daniel Lancaster. My love..."

Xylander and Draven went wild—sa with Daniel, who got down from the bed. Fuck the pain. He rushed like a madman, staggered, and fell onto Alexander.

"How?! Just how..." he asked.

Alex smiled. "I will tell you everything later." Then he hugged him tightly. "I love you. In fact, all of you, co on here."

Draven and Xylander both joined the hug, sa with Thomas and Norman.

"We love you, too..." they chorused happily.
