Reaching a favorable agreent with Daniel that he wouldn’t leave the house and ensuring the compound was secured, Michael finally left him alone. He would have asked his sister to keep Daniel company, but he doubted that would ever happen.

Daniel was too absorbed in his computer and phone to notice Michael leaving. His knowledge of digital devices was all thanks to Draven, and now, he handled them like a professional.

Climbing into his rickety car, Michael drove out of the countryside toward the city, where the infamous prison stood. His heart raced. The thought of entering that place always triggered him—the sight of miserable, wasted people behind bars gnawed at his conscience every ti.

When he arrived, he honked at the gate, waiting impatiently for it to open. The gateman—a frowning, scruffy man muttering curses under his breath—dragged himself forward and unlocked it with visible irritation. Michael ignored his attitude and steered through until he reached the parking lot.

To his surprise, it wasn’t filled with cars but with rows of cages and tallic hooks of various sizes. The atmosphere was heavy—gloomy like a graveyard.

Bare-chested, half-naked n were being dragged along the alleys by angry-looking guards who treated them like beasts rather than humans. Michael steadied his breathing, exhaling deeply before stepping forward—only to be blocked by the sa gateman.

"What are you doing here?" the man barked bluntly.

Michael’s brows furrowed. Was this how he questioned everyone, or was it just bias based on appearances? Either way, this man was standing between him and his purpose, and he didn’t like it.

"And how is that supposed to concern you, old man?" Michael snapped. "Is this how you treat law personnel? Because I can have you jailed right here where you stand—watch and see."

He delivered the lie with confidence, not even flinching. The gateman’s eyes widened slightly.

"That’s a lie," he muttered. "If you worked for a law firm, you wouldn’t be driving that wretched car."

Michael smirked. "Still doubting ? I can show proof. And once you see it, this prison will never let you go for harassing a legal representative."

He knew he was bluffing, but this was the only way to reach Xylander—and the only way to help Daniel.

The threat hung in the air, and the gateman visibly shivered before stepping aside, even running off nervously. Michael smiled with quiet satisfaction.

"That was close," he murmured. "Imagine a re gateman trying to stop ."

Pushing forward, he entered the main building. But again, he was stopped—this ti by a man who at least looked sane.

"Who are you here to see?" the man asked in a flat tone.

"Xylander Wolfe. Heard he was imprisoned here," Michael replied.

The man shook his head firmly. "Sorry, but visitors aren’t allowed to see him. That’s the rule."

Michael blinked in disbelief. "Not even for a few minutes? Five minutes, that’s all I need."

"I said no," the man repeated coldly. "If you have nothing else to do here, kindly leave."

Michael’s chest tightened. Since when did prisons forbid short visits? Sothing felt wrong. There was sothing shady going on, and the thought of Xylander being in deeper trouble terrified him.

"Listen," Michael leaned closer. "Is it money you want? I can transfer it right now. Just let see him."

The man’s eyes glead with greed. He smirked and whispered, "Three hundred thousand dollars, and I might reconsider."

Michael’s head spun. "What? Are you insane?"

Three hundred thousand dollars—for a few minutes? That was outrageous. He could live comfortably in his countryside ho, but that amount was far beyond him.

"Sir, that’s too much. I just want to see him," he pleaded. "He’s been locked up for ages—he probably thinks no one rembers him anymore. Please, this isn’t fair."

The man hissed and shoved him aside. "Leave now before I lock the door."

Michael refused to back down. He wouldn’t disappoint Daniel—not after raising his hopes.

"If I walk out of here without seeing him, I’ll go public," Michael warned sharply. "The whole world will hear about this. When the crowd storms this place and burns it down, rember I warned you."

The man didn’t even look at him—just hissed again and slamd the door in his face.

But before it could shut completely, a hand caught the edge of the door and stopped it cold.

The man who appeared next took the scene by storm. His bright red hair glistened under the dim prison lights, commanding attention instantly. The guard who had blocked Michael froze, jaw dropping.

The newcor’s clothing scread high-end luxury—Gucci shirt, perfectly tailored pants, Chanel shoes polished to perfection. His presence oozed authority and wealth. Behind him stood another man in a sleek suit, clutching a briefcase.

"Where is Xylander Wolfe?" the red-haired man demanded, voice sharp as steel. "I’m here to bail him out—now."

The guard’s face turned pale; his lips trembled. "S-sorry, sir, but I can’t—"

Before he could finish, the red-haired stranger dropped a roll of cash at his feet. It rolled across the floor like a snake of temptation.

Michael blinked, stunned. Soone else was here for Xylander too—but who was this man? Was he connected to Daniel? Could he be trusted, or would ntioning Daniel put him in danger?

"There’s more in this briefcase," the red-haired man added coldly. "Release him, and it’s all yours."

The guard’s greed took over instantly. Without another word, he snatched the money and hurried off to unlock the cell.

Michael stood there, invisible—completely ignored. The red-haired man didn’t even glance at him.

Was it an insult? Probably. To think this man hadn’t even acknowledged him because he looked poor—it stung.

When Michael tried to follow them inside, the door slamd right in his face. The impact sent him crashing to the floor, his nose bursting in pain as warm blood began to drip down.
