There were nostalgic things he wanted to talk about with him, but more than that, he simply felt like continuing the conversation.

Sitting together within the protective barrier, not too far from their camp, the two of them shared a quiet drink.

Ignatius had taken Kaelion aside for sword training in the anti.

"You have a wonderful husband and an adorable child," Qi Yu remarked.

"Ahaha, thank you," Shen Xinghui replied with a smile.

"I heard that Dragon Man have a declining birth rate. For you to have a child... it must an you are deeply loved."

"Eh?"

Qi Yu seed to know a lot about this world—perhaps even more than Shen Xinghui himself.

"Qi Yu, why did you leave Mara?" Shen Xinghui asked after a mont. "Did you and the Demon King... Malrik... not get along well?"

The question slipped out naturally.

After all, traveling alone in an unfamiliar world was no easy feat.

What had driven Qi Yu to make such a decision?

And had Malrik allowed it?

Whenever Qi Yu spoke of Malrik, there was a hint of sorrow in his expression.

It was clear that he held so feelings toward the Demon King.

So why had he left?

Qi Yu took his ti answering.

Eventually, he let out a quiet, weary laugh.

"I suppose... because I was an anomaly there."

"Anomaly?"

Sothing about the word felt deeply sad.

"My nature is to take lives," Qi Yu explained. "But the Demon race despises conflict. My very being is the opposite of their values. And beyond that, the conditions necessary to activate my skill simply did not exist in that country."

"You have a skill?"

Shen Xinghui studied him curiously.

Did Qi Yu possess so unique ability?

Qi Yu rely gave him a small, amused smile, as if dodging the question.

"Besides," he added, "I have a fight I must diate."

"A fight to diate?"

What kind of conflict required soone to embark on a journey like this?

Was it sothing between nations?

But as far as Shen Xinghui knew, there were no active wars.

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, Qi Yu spoke again.

"Xinghui... you ca to this world to be loved by Ignatius, didn’t you?"

"Huh?"

Shen Xinghui glanced at Qi Yu and noticed that he was watching Kaelion and Ignatius train with an intense, almost severe gaze.

"In this world, people from another world are summoned to maintain order when the world’s balance begins to distort," Qi Yu said. "That is why every otherworlder like us who arrives here is needed in so way. If you ended up by Ignatius’s side, then it must have been the will of this world that guided you there."

A strange sense of unease crept into Shen Xinghui’s chest.

Just how much did Qi Yu know?

It seed as if he understood things that even the native inhabitants of this world were unaware of.

"How do you know all of this?" Shen Xinghui asked.

Qi Yu’s expression darkened slightly, as if troubled by the question, but he eventually nodded.

"This world is said to have two gods—the Sovereign of the Earth and the Sovereign of the Skies. Together, they sustained the balance of the world. One of them... is Malrik, the Demon King."

"What?!"

Shen Xinghui’s heart pounded violently at the revelation.

Before he even realized it, he had reached out and grasped Qi Yu’s hand.

"Qi Yu, please let et him!"

"Xinghui...?"

"The Dragon Man’s birth rate is declining. Even though I have the ’God of Pregnancy and Fertility’s Blessing’ skill and can bear children, the overall population is still decreasing. If Malrik is truly a god, maybe he can help! I want to ask him to do sothing—anything—to ensure more children are born!"

As soone who is living in the Dragon Man’s country, Drakthar Dominion, he couldn’t ignore the issue.

He had many children around him, but the streets of the city painted a different picture.

The absence of children was undeniable.

But Qi Yu only shook his head, looking deeply pained.

"Even Malrik cannot do that."

"Why not?!"

"The source of the dicine that affects birth rates cos from the World Tree, which is in the Lux Theocracy where the Sovereign of the Skies resides. That tree has been weakening, and as a result, birth rates have begun to decline."

"No way..."

If that was the case, then the only solution was to find a way to restore the World Tree.

But first, they would need access to the Lux Theocracy.

"Then... is there any way to enter the Lux Theocracy?"

"...Not at the mont," Qi Yu admitted. "The Sovereign of the Earth and the Sovereign of the Skies had a falling out, and as a result, the bridge connecting their realms was sealed off. The Sovereign of the Skies has since shut himself away in seclusion."

"What?!"

What kind of absurd sibling quarrel led to sothing like this?!

"A ridiculous, petty argunt between gods has thrown the world into turmoil," Qi Yu sighed. "It’s honestly too frustrating for words."

"Qi Yu... the dispute you’re trying to diate... don’t tell —"

Qi Yu smiled wryly and nodded.

"That’s right."

"But... how?"

"There is a way. However, in order to use my skill, I need to et specific conditions. Right now, I’m traveling to fulfill those requirents."

"What are those conditions?"

"That’s a secret."

Qi Yu raised a finger to his lips with a playful "shh," his smile carrying an air of mischief.

Yet, there was sothing deeply sorrowful in his expression.

"The power of the main World Tree flows into the trees of the lower world, allowing them to bear fruit. That fruit is the key ingredient for the dicine that can sustains life. However, ever since the Sovereign of the Skies sealed himself away, the World Tree has stopped receiving its energy. As a result, the tree has weakened, and it can no longer create the necessary cores that can withstand the imnse magical energy needed for high-magic species to reproduce."
