Over the years, he has worked hard for the gang, scheming against and manipulating their enemies until he carefully orchestrated their downfall.
But this fact didn't make Oscar ignorant of the truth of the world, it just made him more aware of it.
The world of gangsters and criminals was one based on strength and violence and because of that, the ones that often rose up to the top were the most violent and psychotic of the bunch.
That's why when Oscar saw Lucius transford, his hair stood on edge
It was an appearance Oscar had seen too much back in his days within the gangs.
It was the look of an absolute crazy man!
The sa kind of crazy bastard that would squash all dissidents and enemies, no matter the cost!
He had worked hard to force the weaker noble backers of the gang to get him a recomndation so he could enter Sanctuary.
When Oscar had left the gang and joined Sanctuary, he had thought he had originally left that kind of life behind.
Unfortunately, Oscar didn't believe in Xander's ability to handle things and cleanly take care of Lucius and, as a result, he could only get off the sinking ship while he still had the chance.
This was simply the most obvious and logical choice for Oscar, but didn't care about Oscar's opinions.
He could barely believe the words he had heard.
Not only did this commoner-born Oscar say he was abandoning him, he even dared to talk to him in such a derogatory and humiliating tone!
It was one thing to be humiliated by a monster like Lucius, but how could Xander let this commoner-born Oscar also walk all over him?
Xander was furious!
"Bang!"
Wind and thunder crackled all around Xander's body as sparks of lightning gathered around him, making him appear like a furious thunder god!
With a wave of his hand, streaks of lightning all gathered together before quickly rushing out towards Oscar!
Seeing this, Oscar just snorted before quickly reciting a chant as a blue mana shield appeared in front of him.
"Bang!"
The shield in front of Oscar shook and groaned, showing that it was bearing quite a bit of stress, but in the end, the mana shield still held firm.
As soon as he was attacked, Oscar's green eyes narrowed sharply as he furiously glared at Xander, making him have the illusion that they were being watched by countless poisonous snakes.
"Xander Let's end things here. I may not be as strong as Lucius but I'm not weak either!"
Xander was so shocked that Oscar, who he had always looked down on, was no weakling and actually capable of blocking his attacks that he didn't even react until Oscar had already walked out of the room.
But soon after he realised what happened, Xander clenched his fists as any enraged roar escaped his mouth.
In his fury he didn't even bother to control his golden ranked gift, [Storm Caller]
Allowing the terrifying effects of wind and lightning to rage about inside the room turning it into a devastating ss.
Soon Xander cald down and stopped the raging thunder all around him but after he did this he was quickly overwheld with a sense of urgency.
"No! Things can't stay like this!"
Soon dashing out of the room, Xander quickly realised how big of a problem things could beco. The whole ordeal with Lucius had left him with absolutely no respect to the point that even so of his subordinates who were re commoners, had now started to turn on him.
Before Xander didn't want to deal with Lucius because it would be too obvious but now he couldn't afford the luxury to care about that anymore.
If he doesn't do anything the na of the Caldwell family would very well be finished!
Although this may not show any effect now, if he was constantly suppressed by Lucius until his graduation, although the Caldwells would be fine in the imdiate future, if nothing changed then the prestigious Caldwell family may actually decline within his generation!
Regardless of the fact that all this began with a petty dispute he had with Lucius, right now things were starting to cross his bottom line!
But Xander wasn't stupid.
Dealing with Lucius would be a blatant violation of the strict rules set by Sanctuary and if he was going to do it then he could only rely on the few people that could afford to violate the academy rules.
As long as these people weren't obvious enough to leave traces, they could get away with nearly anything as long as they had plausible deniability.
These were of course, the heroic families!
Xander at first didn't want to be forced to grovel beneath and beg the heroic families that's why he tried to deal with Lucius himself
"Fucking Lucius you can't bla for this you bastard! Now that it's co to this, you can only pray that those heroic families give you!"
Xander quietly cursed up a storm as he quickly walked towards one of the dorms where he could et a contact of one of the Heroic families.
But as this was going on, Xander was so engrossed in his plan that he failed to notice a pair of cold, purple eyes watching him from nearby shadows.
It was because of this that when Xander walked past these shadows it was already too late.
Xander was left unable to react as a pair of hands shot out perfectly clasping his throat pressing against his brutal arteries and nearly paralysing his body.
Xander couldn't even react and his eyes flashed with fear as he quickly tried to gather storm and lightning around him. But before this could happen, a fist wrapped in mana hit the side of his temple, leaving him concussed and unable to properly gather enough concentration to launch an attack.
In this half delirious state, he could always squirm helplessly as he felt the life was slowly choked out of his lungs.
