Zorat and Erica were stared down by the intimidating-looking royal knight commander.
Anyone who saw how she was acting fiercely loyal to the throne would think for sure she was a most devoted soldier of the kingdom.
But Zorat knew better.
Now that she was so close, it was all the more potent. The distinct flavor of demonic energy. Which would only an one thing.
She is probably an enemy who had sohow wiggled into this kingdom and managed to obtain one of the highest positions available.
How such a feat was possible left Zorat greatly impressed.
He could see his young demonic self in those arrogant eyes that were currently staring at him. For good asure, he decides to unravel her constitution....
Authority Of Mischief....Abyssal gaze.

Hmm... I see now how she does what she does... hehehe
Judging by how impressive these skills look in comparison to the others I’ve seen.... She’s certainly not an ordinary demon...interesting.
"Hero of item box, if you please, this way." The knight commander spoke in a tone that left no room for reproach or argunt as she gestured toward where the princess and her friend sat.
Just as Zorat needed to use Erica, he also needed to use the princess. Acting the part of a humble hero for now would grant him many more benefits than otherwise. The princess, for all intents and purposes, was the fourth most powerful person in the kingdom.
As Florielle explained earlier, the order is: the king, then the saintess, then the grand vizier, and finally the princess. The king is rumored to be the most powerful in the kingdom; putting him under control would be quite tedious for now.
The saintess is an enigma. Even though she’s the second most powerful in the kingdom, her mind and will are like those of a child, according to Zorat’s experience, which was quite contradictory. A testant to the kingdom’s many secrets. Zorat had to get a good grasp on her as a person before making his move.
The Grand vizier, who has half the royal cabinet and ministers in his pockets, and controls administrative duties. Who’s only refused access to the royal treasury, since that place is directly under the control of every ruling monarch. Zorat already considers the grand vizier a roadblock he must uproot and dispose of.
It matters not whether the grand vizier plans to take action against him. He simply couldn’t leave soone capable of peering into his secrets without permission, alive.
This leaves the princess, who has the other less-than-half of the ministers on her side, and, most importantly, the support of her father, the king. This would an Zorat would be killing two birds with one stone by taming her. Getting the support of the princess and the king in one go.
Florielle ntioned a rumor about a certain power that only the king controls. But she couldn’t say more, because that’s all she knew as a forr noble of a fallen family and now a maid.
But that’s irrelevant information for the ti being; it might be useful in the future, though.
Zorat turns to Erica, looking very contrite." Guess we won’t be taking that walk after all."
"I guess. Anyway.... It’s training tomorrow, right? See you there ?" Erica understood Caleb couldn’t just turn down the princess. So she too decided to call it a night.
"Yh... see you there," Zorat replied, following behind the knight commander with his hands in his pockets, while Erica left through the exit double doors.
"Please have a seat... apologies for interrupting your ti with your friends," Elowen gestures to an empty seat facing hers and that of her friend in a white gown. On the table were fanciful light treats that looked untouched.
"Think nothing of it, your highness... You summoned for a reason, I suppose." Zorat comnted as he took the seat while the knight commander went to position herself a few paces back.
"You might not be aware.... But you’ve taken a stance today." Elowen spoke, looking seriously at Zorat.
"A stance ?.... how so ?" Zorat replied, feigning ignorance.
"The heroes hold a .... delicate position in this kingdom....no...in all kingdoms"
"It might have been in the spur of the mont.... But you proclaid heir, the ministers bearing witness. This ans you have chosen a side."
"The grand vizier....is on this other side of this delicate balance."
Zorat nodded as she continued."Before the sun rises.... The grand vizier would be alerted to this developnt."
"He is a dangerous and powerful man. A hero candidate .... Even if only one such as..... yourself...."
Such as myself ?.....
Ahhh....all the things I wish I could do to you, princess ..... Hehehe
"You will do well to choose a side... and choose well."
"Though you are .... Insufficient...."
ah. stop making so inspired to deal with you, Elowen.
"... I can still take you under and make certain you are well catered to."
Oh, would you now?.
"What say you, Hero of item box ?"
"Of course, I am one hundred percent on your side, your highness." Zorat replied with utmost enthusiasm.
"Very well.... ah ....let introduce you.."
"This is my childhood friend and best friend.... Kaelara Malverin." Elowen said, gesturing towards the young lady by her side.
The young lady, who had been engrossed in a small book while occasionally staring at the blank tapestry on the wall, shifted her gaze to Zorat at the ntion of her na.
Her ashen eyes drank in Zorat’s appearance in casual perusal, while weirdly lingering on certain areas, before fixing her gaze back to her book, speaking to Elowen without raising her head."Elo. What good is a bagboy to your course ?. I told you it’s a waste of ti."
Zorat had thoughts of his own; the last na the princess had just uttered sounded oddly familiar.
"I told you. I need as much support as I can get if I’m going to go against your father." Elowen muttered in a sigh.
"Wait. She’s the grand vizier’s daughter ?. Really?" Zorat asked in genuine amusent. Could the princess really be this stupid ?.
As if reading his thoughts, Elowen smiled in response." Don’t worry about K; she doesn’t concern herself with such matters. We’ve been friends all our lives, so I should know."
Zorat nodded in understanding. He couldn’t tell if this Kaela really didn’t give a hoot about such matters, or if the princess was just naive. Either way, he seems to have stumbled upon yet another crucial target for his plans.
Kaelara Malverin.
As Zorat watched the sinfully curvaceous and bountifully proportioned damsel. He could now understand why Florille said she had tons of marriage suitors.
Zorat recalled what Florille had said about her....The Chaste and pure ice beauty. She keeps to herself and keeps n away. The apple of her father’s eyes.
She must be quite philosophical and a deep thinker...
Since she’s so guarded...
I guess there’s just one way to begin understanding her...
...Which starts with understanding her desires.
for this.... I think I’ll have to go quite deep to unearth anything actionable...
Zorat panned to Kaelara’s direction as a glint of crimson shimred through his pupils...
Authority Of Mischief..... Desire.
