Zorat phased through his tent, walking leisurely in his invisible state through the campgrounds.
As he was accustod to sleeping with his shirt off, he was currently shirtless and also barefoot.
The person he was presently sensing was exhuding raw killing intent, but it wasn’t directed at him; it was directed sowhere else.
And they appear to have so sense blocking skill or artifact as well, because the knights currently stationed everywhere on night watch had not sensed anything and were simply going about their business.
Considering these were all master realm knights, and two grandmasters on night watch as well, this person should be really skilled or have sothing quite powerful.
Zorat followed his senses, as they led him to one of the hero’s tents.
Phasing into said tent, he ca upon an intense scene.
Inside was a veiled figure dressed in apparel black as night, with only a space between the eyes to see from.
This figure had a curved blade positioned at the throat of one of the heroes.... Just about to slit it.
Zorat was tempted to let the masked figure go through with it, but seeing who it was who was about to be killed, he muttered exasperatedly.... "sigh .... I can’t let you do that."
The veiled person was jolted in shock by the familiar voice from up close to their ears.....
A cold shiver ran through them at how this person had managed to sneak up on them....
Reacting quickly, they swung the curved blade in their hand horizontally, aid to behead the person that had intruded in their imdiate space..... But it was already too late.
Before the blade could advance half the way, Zorat had struck the back of their neck with the side of his hand... and as they began to lose consciousness, falling backward....
Zorat’s face and voice were the last thing they saw and heard, and they also realised dreadfully that he knew who they were, even their true na... as his final words accompanied them to slumber....
"Nighty night.... Azaria."
*****
Azaria Draven. Third daughter of Demon Lord, Vexor Draven.
As the lastborn child born to the fearso demon lord of the southern region.
Azaria had always been very eager to prove herself.
Her elder sisters, just like her father, all awakened special skills of the demonic blood at the super supre grade after going through the ritual of blood.
But when it was her turn, she had awakened an ability that had never been seen in the Draven line before.
An ability to morph and shapeshift into whover she kills and consus their essence. She would even retain properties of her victims.....
But there were great drawbacks.
On morphing into another victim, she loses everything from the last one, both the looks and the abilities.
She can also never return to her original state after morphing into her first victim, only retaining her innate realm, skills and abilities.
Azaria was scorned for her pitiful ability, which was not only so much weaker than their supre demonic blood special ability, but she would also lose her looks as one of the Draven red-horned line if she ever used this ability.
So, she swore not to ever use it. And to simply prove herself with just her own determination that she could be just as powerful as her other siblings. But she was so very wrong.
The demonic blood special ability was called supre for a reason. And while her sisters had already beco incredibly powerful, all stepping into the early stages of the paragon realm in just the span of a couple of years...
She was still wasting away in the master realm.
Azaria beca the sha and sar on the Draven na.
Demons hated the weak. Being of the Draven line ant nothing if you were powerless.
She hated herself, and she hated the looks of disappointnt she received from everyone.
Desperate to prove herself, Azria presented a suggestion to her father.
A suggestion that would make proper use of her powers..... but a suggestion that would eventually make her lose herself... earning her the moniker.... ’The faceless one’.
Azaria chose to beco a spy.
With the help of other demons, she would kill a human of higher rank, earning her the person’s looks, mories, realm, and abilities.
But her demonic look was forever gone.
Now she is a demon who looks nothing like a demon.
But she had beco useful..... Indispensable to the demonic army.
She could go everywhere and beco anyone.
But the more she does all this, the more her people treat her as a stranger..... She could almost see repulsion on their faces when she was in their midst.
But all that matters not..... As long as her father, the demon lord, was proud of her.
Her latest mission was to infiltrate the imperial family of the Ursula Kingdom and await the arrival of this generation’s heroes.
She was simply to observe and report back.
For this, she needed to be a person of reasonably high status, who was privy to necessary information, and could also be in contact with the heroes.
And the then Knight commander, Thalira Naveer, happened to be the perfect subject for her infiltration.
It took several months to plan, and it wasn’t an easy fight.
Even with the help of her early paragon realm sisters, who had been forced to join the fight by their father, they almost lost as the knight commander was at the mid paragon realm.
But sohow, they managed to win, and that’s how she ca to take the place of the knight commander..... Making her even stronger than her siblings, and making her that much more valuable to her father’s army.
It’s been more than a year since then, and she’s been deeply integrated into the inner workings of the Ursula kingdom.
She played her role so well, she began to feel she was in fact the real nigt commander. embodying everything about her.
And as expected, the saintess’s arrival marked the scheduled summoning of the heroes, and Azaria was more than prepared to handle it all...
That was until she discovered soone she felt in her bones that....
She definitely couldn’t handle.
