The shade under the Oak tree was pleasant, the weather was nice, and the company... Well, the company was tolerable, Riven decided, side-eyeing Leon’s stupidly perfect face.

Just as he decided that, he heard sothing. It was more like an argunt.

Tense, heated, passionate.

Ultimately, gossip.

Riven’s tail flicked once in excitent. His eyes lit up like a cat seeing a laser pointer. "Shh," he said suddenly.

Leon blinked. "I wasn’t saying anything."

"Shh!" Riven pressed a finger to Leon’s lips like he was a librarian shushing children. "I’m hearing sothing important."

From a short distance down the walkway, voices carried over the hum of the posh district.

"I can’t believe we are doing this again in public!" a voice snapped, high-pitched, offended, and impatient.

"Of course we are," a deeper voice replied with restrained anger. "You brought it up in a public setting!"

Riven’s ears practically swivelled like miniature satellite dishes, zeroing in. He wanted faces.

He leaned sideways, pretending to casually stretch, and peeked around the tree trunk. Bingo.

The source of the drama was two n, both dressed in clothes so expensive they probably had servants just to polish the buttons.

One of them was short—shorter than Riven. His hair was a vivid, pretty red that shimred in the light, and his stormy grey eyes were locked in a defiant glare. He was wearing deep green silk, the kind of clothing that was all about luxury and wealth.

The other man was very tall, with brown hair and hard brown eyes. His jaw was clenched so tightly it could cut glass. He wore fine furs over a tailored coat, looking like the kind of man who hunted animals for sport but tipped the stable boy generously.

The tall one’s voice carried a mix of exhaustion and heartbreak. "Why are you trying to sabotage our relationship? I brought you here to get away from all the trouble back ho, and what do you tell ? That you slept with my brother."

Leon looked mildly scandalised. Riven? He was grinning like a wolf who had just scented the juiciest prey.

"I had to co clean!" the redhead pleaded, hands fluttering. "I could not lie to you."

"I wish you didn’t," the taller man said through clenched teeth. "Why do you keep going to him? You know he is nothing but a bastard, and you know that!"

"But he is my mate!" the redhead shot back desperately.

"So am I!" the tall man barked, before yanking the redhead forward and kissing him.

Riven clapped a hand over his mouth, his eyes going wide. "Oh wow," he whispered, half to Leon and half to himself. "This is premium content." XXX days without the internet, and he was barely getting by. Finally, so entertainnt.

Leon sighed. "You’re eavesdropping."

"Correction: I’m people-watching," Riven said, his eyes never leaving the scene. "With benefits. It’s not a cri to take an interest in others’ lives! I’m just that selfless."

Leon would be amazed by his shalessness... But not really, because he was just as shaless, and he finally t his match.

anwhile, the redhead shoved the taller man back, chest heaving. "You can’t claim like this. Not when my heart is divided!"

"I’m not trying to claim you," the taller man replied in a low, rough tone. "I’m trying to save you from yourself."

Riven’s mouth dropped open. "Oh, that’s good. That’s scripted drama levels of good."

Leon pinched the bridge of his nose. "Just wow."

"Shhhh, we are getting to the climax!" Riven shushed him again.

The redhead turned on his heel and stord off, silk coat flaring dramatically. The taller man quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him close. "I won’t let you leave ..."

Oh my god. What is this drama? I need to know their lore!

"I wish I were the one the truck ran over instead!" The readhead said loud enough for Riven to hear.

Wait, what?

Riven’s head snapped up so fast he nearly gave himself whiplash.

His brain short-circuited for a mont before replaying the sentence over and over like a broken record.Truck. He definitely heard ’truck’.

"Did he just say truck?!" Riven barked, turning toward Leon, who was leaning casually against the tree beside him.

Leon didn’t even look up from inspecting his nails. "Yeah, whatever that ans, he said it."

Riven froze. Trucks did not exist in this world. Wagons? Yes. Carts? Sure. Carriages, but trucks? Nope. Nada. This was the kind of out-of-place vocabulary only soone like him would know.

Oh oooh. Oh? Was this... was this a fellow transmigrator?

Without another word, Riven shot to his feet like a man possessed. "Leon, watch my stuff!" he shouted, bolting towards them.

"What stuff?! You have no stuff!" Leon yelled back!

The red-haired man was currently being smothered in a dramatic back hug by the much taller man, who seed to be consoling him. His red hair was ssy, his cheeks flushed, and he had the defeated slouch of soone whose life had been personally cursed by the gods.

Riven skidded to a stop right in front of them, pointing at the redhead’s face like he was accusing him of murder. "Did you just say truck?!"

The taller man’s comforting gaze, which was on the man he was hugging, quickly changed into a glare... But after realising who this audacious man was, he had to back down. Anyone from the wolves clan knew who Riven was.

A long, tense beat passed.

Finally, the redhead swallowed hard and stamred, "I— I’m Bob."

Riven’s eyes narrowed. Bob? Bob! Omg Bob! Who was BOB?

Before Riven could demand clarification, Bob glanced nervously over Riven’s shoulder... and went pale.

"Uh... Please let go of , John."

John reluctantly let go. "Do you know each other?" He asked while he cautiously glanced at the alpha’s mate.

Bob cautiously stared at Riven. This guy, who was not familiar with, but his mate was familiar with was being very respectful to Riven, and although he had been living in this world for a while, he did not know many things. So he followed John’s lead.

"I need to talk to Bob privately," Riven stated with a serious tone.
