Chapter 402: Just Want to Help
“If you are this easily satisfied, I won’t marry you that fast.” A mischievous light glinted in Yun Xiangxiang’s eyes.
She told him what she had in mind rather rudely, but Song Mian still managed to twist it into a romantic confession.
Is he this eager to tell how much he wants to marry ?
Song Mian gave her a cryptic smile. “Oh, you’ll know if I’m easily satisfied.”
It was a charming, gentle smile, but for so reason, Yun Xiangxiang shivered. But before she could say anything, Song Mian had already gone into the kitchen.
Yun Xiangxiang’s cell phone rang again at the sa ti. This ti, Yun Xiangxiang looked at the caller ID before she took it. It ca from Li Xiangling.
“Xiangxiang, it’s the weekend tomorrow. We’ll co over to your place.”
Li Xiangling thought Yun Xiangxiang spent the whole sumr holiday with them and her boyfriend, so she wanted to give the couple so alone ti.
So that was why they didn’t contact Yun Xiangxiang over the past couple of weeks, and there was also the fact that they were busy with university right after it restarted. Li Xiangling and Song ng had joined the student council and so clubs, so they only had ti this weekend.
“Sure, co over, but I have sothing to do tomorrow.” Yun Xiangxiang nodded. “I’ll spend the whole Sunday with you girls.”
They talked about Sunday’s plans on the phone before Li Xiangling asked about Deng Yang’s case. “I saw the news.”
Deng Yang’s news had a lot of exposure, for it was sothing in the fashion world, though it didn’t take up too much space in the entertainnt section.
“Can I have Ren Yulin follow around so he can get so experience?” Li Xiangling hesitated before speaking.
Ren Yuling couldn’t handle such a big case, and since it was too disadvantageous for Deng Yang, it would be challenging to turn the tables. But the more dire the situation, the more he could learn and experience.
“I’ll ask Ah Mian.” The lawyer was soone Song Mian hired, so she had to respect him.
“It’s fine if he wants to go, but he might be unable to make it.” Song Mian didn’t object. “There’s still a week left before the trial would start.”
Yun Xiangxiang understood what he ant. If Ren Yulin wanted to go now, he needed three to five days for the visa to be approved. The trial would have started once he arrived, so he could not learn anything from the Song family’s lawyer about the process.
Yun Xiangxiang replied to Li Xiangling to tell her about the day the trial would start. A mont later, Li Xiangling told her Ren Yulin still insisted on going.
Yun Xiangxiang asked Song Mian for his lawyer’s number before having Ren Yulin to contact him himself.
Since they would be going to Yun Xiangxiang’s place on the weekend, Li Xiangling and Song ng rode the MRT at night.
“If you help him again, don’t bla if I suspect you two of sothing,” Song ng questioned Li Xiangling after listening to her story.
“He’s just my guy friend. There is no romance between us.” Li Xiangling had nothing to hide.
“Did he ask you for help in the first place?” Song ng asked after a mont of hesitation.
“You suspect him of having ulterior motives?” Li Xiangling shrewdly saw through Song ng’s thought.
“Can’t I doubt him?” Song ng thought Ren Yulin’s actions were suspicious.
“You can. That is your right.” Li Xiangling nodded. “But he isn’t that kind of person.”
“Do you believe him so much?” Song ng frowned. She thought Ren Yulin tricked Li Xiangling.
“Don’t try to figure out with that mind of yours.” Li Xiangling gave her a disdainful look.
They were in Li Xiangling’s room on the first floor. Since there wasn’t anybody else there, Li Xiangling spilled everything she knew about Ren Yulin.
“Yulin cos from a poor family, but since he’s handso, a lot of rich girls on our campus are pursuing him.”
Many people looked up on Ren Yulin after Yun Xiangxiang suddenly asked him to be her lawyer in court back then.
Yun Xiangxiang also knew a bit about him. ‘Ren Yulin’ was a nice na. If she didn’t know better, she would have thought he ca from a wealthy family.
He ca from a farr’s family in a remote area. His father died on a construction site when he was little, but since the departnt in charge tricked his mother into signing a particular contract, they didn’t have to pay a lot in compensation.
He knew knowledge was crucial since he was little. From the mont injustice fell upon his family, he made an oath to uphold justice when he grew up.
He managed to get through all the hardships and entered a top institution to study law. He was a capable person, but he needed a chance. That resilience and a sense of justice were what made Li Xiangling admire him.
Ren Yuling only knew Yun Xiangxiang was a rising star, but he didn’t know her relationship with Song Mian, nor did he know Song Mian’s background.
They started talking about this matter because they would discuss any case that had shown up in the news.
Sotis they would even role-play as both sides’ lawyers to find out how they would handle the case, and Deng Yang’s case was in one of their roleplays.
Li Xiangling knew Yun Xiangxiang had shares in Yunxiang Clothing, but she didn’t tell Ren Yulin this. The only thing she told him was that Yun Xiangxiang was an ambassador for Deng Yang’s brand.
This wasn’t a secret, for Yun Xiangxiang had shown up twice, and Deng Yang even admitted she made Yun Xiangxiang’s dress on her official account.
Ren Yulin wanted to do sothing when he found out this was related to Yun Xianxgiang. After the incident back then, he was ostracized by the law firm’s staff. Since then, he had resigned, and now he wanted to rest for a bit.
But now he wanted to help, for he wanted to repay Yun Xiangxiang. He might be unable to help, but he wanted to do sothing.
“Hey, don’t bla for overthinking. If he wants to help, just say it. He doesn’t have to go around and say it’s for learning experience.” Song ng felt embarrassed after listening to it.
“If he doesn’t say that, I wouldn’t have asked him to help for free.” Yun Xiangxiang rolled her eyes.
She knew Li Xiangling had an eye for talent, so Yun Xiangxiang had never thought Ren Yulin had any ulterior motives.
Since they were all lawyers, and after Yun Xiangxiang had hired soone for this, he couldn’t interfere with the excuse of helping out, so he took a step back and said he wanted to learn. Those who didn’t know the story behind it only thought that he was unwilling to let go after finally having a helper like Yun Xiangxiang.
“Hey, you should ask him out soday for us to et.” Song ng was curious about this person.
“You want to introduce him to you?” asked Li Xiangling.
He wasn’t her boyfriend, but if she suddenly brought him to see her best friend, Song ng might misunderstand their relationship, even though she had just explained it to her.
“I’m already taken!” Song ng retorted loudly.
“Hm?” Li Xiangling looked at her calmly. “When did this happen?”
She didn’t know what had happened between Song ng and Yang Qi.
Knowing she had let the cat out of the bag, Song ng took the pillow before she stamred, “U... um, j... just a while ago...”
That glib-tongued Yang Qi told her, “If I have to make sure to win against my goddess every sester before being able to marry you, I will choose to date now, so I can enjoy the benefits of being a boyfriend.”
He ignored her when she said they would break up if he lost out to Yun Xiangxiang, for he would never allow this possibility to happen.
