Chapter 295: You are the Most Important Thing in My Life
“Is she your romantic rival?” Song ng interrogated Yun Xiangxiang once the latter got back.
“What is a romantic rival?” Yun Xiangxiang went to the bathroom to remove her makeup. She pretended not to know what Song ng was talking about.
“The girls who love the sa guy are romantic rivals.”
They ca back earlier than Yun Xiangxiang did and spent a lot of ti analyzing the event, concluding that Faye was Yun Xiangxiang’s romantic rival. Well, Song ng did most of the talking. Li Xiangling only interjected occasionally.
Yun Xiangxiang swabbed her eyeliner after removing her mascara. She looked at Song ng’s reflection in her mirror. “Romantic rivals are people at odds while pursuing the sa romantic interest.”
Song ng nodded. “That’s right. So?” She was puzzled.
Yun Xiangxiang removed the remaining makeup with the cotton pads. “She is pursuing Song Mian. But I don’t need to.”
They were not on the sa level. Faye didn’t have the right to call Yun Xiangxiang her romantic rival. Yun Xiangxiang was already the girlfriend.
Song ng gave Yun Xiangxiang a thumbs up and left the bathroom quietly. She got the answer she wanted from Yun Xiangxiang.
Yun Xiangxiang sat on the bed and video called Song Mian after she was done washing up, ignoring Song ng and Li Xiangling’s glares.
They talked about their daily lives. Yun Xiangxiang acted as if nothing had happened.
Song Mian couldn’t keep it down anymore. “Don’t you have anything you need to ask ?”
“What do you think I should ask?” Yun Xiangxiang smiled, but it did not extend to her eyes.
Song Mian cleared his throat. He fidgeted. “I know you went to Faye Cardicra’s birthday today.”
Song Qian was worried about Yun Xiangxiang. She notified Song Mian, in case any unexpected event were to happen.
“So?” Yun Xiangxiang gazed cryptically at Song Mian.
“She used to ask out. I don’t know how she knew about you and . I’m worried she might attack you because of ,” Song Mian spilled it out.
Yun Xiangxiang laughed softly. “She likes you. Are you leading her on, or did you not reject her yet?”
“I didn’t,” Song Mian denied.
Yun Xiangxiang held down her laughter. “You didn’t reject her?” She teased.
“I rejected her, and I didn’t lead her on,” Song Mian added. He had to clarify.
Yun Xiangxiang put her chin on the back of her hand. “I want to know how confessed to you and you rejected her?” She was curious.
The usually calm and elegant Song Mian started to panic. “Must you know about it?”
Yun Xiangxiang took a sip of her water. “Of course I do. If I don’t, how would I know whether you made a clear rejection?” She nodded in earnest.
“The rejection was crystal clear,” Song Mian didn’t want to explain.
“That’s not up to you. It’s up to .” Yun Xiangxiang wasn’t letting this go. The more Song Mian evaded, the more Yun Xiangxiang’s curiosity was piqued.
“It happened six years ago...”
Six years ago, Song Mian was about to finish his studies. He started busying himself in the businesses he had to take over. It was Qi Jun’s birthday. With his increasing workload, they might not have the chance to celebrate together anymore. Song Mian took so ti out to celebrate it for what may be the last ti. Faye knew Song Mian through Qi Jun.
She fell in love with Song Mian at first sight. From that day onward, she did everything she could to grab Song Mian’s attention, but she didn’t have many chances to et Song Mian.
Faye finally saw the opportunity at Qi Jun’s birthday party. She would not let it escape.
There were a lot of guests at that party. She stood on the stage and shouted into the mic, “Song Mian, I want to be the woman your heart yearns for!”
Faye was drop-dead gorgeous and knowledgeable. Many of her admirers were at the party. Most of the guests thought Song Mian and Faye would make a great couple, and they tried to force them together.
Song Mian knew Faye’s public confession was made on purpose. Faye knew he would care about a lady’s dignity.
She knew he wouldn’t reject her right there and then. If Faye was a scheming girl, she could spread the fake news among their circle, creating the illusion that she was dating Song Mian.
But Song Mian was direct when it ca to relationships. He didn’t want to get into any entanglents with Faye.
Song Mian rejected Faye in front of all the guests. “I’m sorry, but my heart only weighs around three hundred grams. If it needs to pump for you, it might overwork itself and die. You’re too heavy.”
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t want to embarrass herself in front of her boyfriend, but Song Mian’s last sentence made her spit her drink.
Yun Xiangxiang choked on her drink. She had earphones on, but her girlfriends knew she was talking to Song Mian. They knew Faye was the center of the topic, judging by what Yun Xiangxiang said. The girls wanted to know what Song Mian had to say about Faye, but they didn’t have ti for that. They gave Yun Xiangxiang so tissues.
“Heavens, Ah Mian.” Yun Xiangxiang tidied herself up. “I didn’t expect you to be this rciless!” She was surprised.
“An adult’s heart does only weigh three hundred grams,” Song Mian was serious.
“Alright, alright. You’re the doctor here. I’m not going to question you.” Yun Xiangxiang gave up. “Okay, I believe that you have rejected her completely.”
But the ever mischievous Yun Xiangxiang wasn’t going to let him off the hook that easily. “But if your heart can’t take her weight, how can it take mine? I’m not that much lighter than her.”
The light of a smile sparkled in his eyes, “My heart isn’t taking your weight as a person. It’s taking the weight of your life.”
“And...,” Song Mian paused before making his solemn confession. “That is the weight I must carry.”
From the mont I acknowledge you as my woman, you are the most important person in my life.
Yun Xiangxiang could feel herself blush. Song Mian was great at flirting. She would lose to him every ti.
As expected of an older man who had been single for twenty-eight years. He was very experienced in this matter.
“No matter how smooth of a criminal you are, I’m still hanging up. Good night!” Yun Xiangxiang quickly hung up.
She smirked as she lay down on her bed, clutching her blanket as she imrsed herself in the sweet love Song Mian gave her.
“Ow, my tooth hurts,” Song ng blurted.
“What’s the matter?” Yun Xiangxiang turned around and saw Song ng holding one side of her face. “What’s the matter? Is your wisdom tooth growing?” Yun Xiangxiang was concerned. Little did she know, that wasn’t why Song ng had a ‘toothache.’
“Wisdom tooth?” Song ng made a la comnt. “It’s going to have a cavity before it even grows, thanks to the sweet affection you’re making drink every day!”
Yun Xiangxiang finally knew Song ng was mocking her. “You deserve it! No wonder you’re single!”
“Don’t back into a corner, Yun Xiangxiang. I might get a man right now and throw all that sweet affection right back at you!” Song ng was annoyed.
Soone handed Song ng sothing from behind. She took a look at it and found out it was a packet of condoms. Song ng gritted her teeth, “We’re not friends anymore, Li Xiangling!”
Li Xiangling put the condom back to its place. The hotel provided it. “It’s fine to have a one-night stand in a foreign country. I’m just worried you might get pregnant. You’re still my friend, you know.”
Yun Xiangxiang chuckled. Song ng was even more annoyed. She picked her pillow up and hurled it at Li Xiangling.
Li Xiangling caught the pillow. “What did your boyfriend tell you? I couldn’t imagine you laughing like that,” she asked.
