Chapter 286: Actions Speak Louder than Words
“I think I do worry about you a lot,” Yun Xiangxiang pouted.
Her slightly chubby face was adorable. Song Mian didn’t hesitate this ti. He snapshotted it.
“What are you doing?! My eyes are all red!” Yun Xiangxiang knew what he was doing when she saw him move.
“It doesn’t matter. You’re always perfect in my eyes.” Song Mian admired the snapshot he took. It was adorable. He ‘accidentally’ set it as his screensaver.
“Delete it. I’ll send you a pretty one.”
Yun Xiangxiang was still a lady. She couldn’t care less about what the netizens had to say about her, but she needed to be her prettiest for those she cared about. Especially her boyfriend.
“No. It was already unacceptable for to miss snapshotting you bawling adorably. I’m not deleting this.” This was the first ti Song Mian disobeyed Yun Xiangxiang.
“Hmph, I’m hanging up if you don’t delete it,” Yun Xiangxiang threatened,
“And you just said you would worry about ...,” Song Mian was dejected.
Yun Xiangxiang quickly snapshotted Song Mian’s dejected look and shook her head smugly when he noticed it. “Okay, now we’re even!”
The air turned jovial. Yun Xiangxiang mulled it over for a while before thanking Song Mian.
“It is my pleasure to do anything for you. You don’t have to thank ,” Song Mian was calm and earnest. “If you feel the need to thank , I would like it if you present it in action.”
“What kind of action?” Yun Xiangxiang pretended to be confused.
The Milky Way behind Song Mian shone brightly upon the land, but not brighter than the smile he had in his eyes. “It’s fine if you don’t know. I can teach you.”
“Oh my god, you pervert,” Yun Xiangxiang tsk-tsked.
“Seems that you know what I am thinking about,” Song Mian teased her.
“I have filming to do tomorrow. Good night!” Yun Xiangxiang felt that her phone was getting hot, but not because of the device itself. She quickly said good night and hung up.
The evening breeze that caressed her face didn’t cool her down. She went around for a stroll before returning to her room from the lounge.
“Did you fight with your boyfriend?” Song ng knew Yun Xiangxiang cried when she noticed her friend’s reddened eyes. She was concerned.
Li Xiangling took a look and went back to do her reading.
“No,” Yun Xiangxiang was embarrassed. She imdiately picked her pajamas up. “I’ll go take a bath now.”
“Ai...,” Song ng didn’t stop Yun Xiangxiang, but she was still worried for her. Song ng went to Li Xiangling and snatched her book. “Stop reading! Xiangxiang is being abused!”
Li Xiangling took her book back and stared at Song ng as if Song ng was an idiot. “Just because her eyes are red doesn’t an she’s abused.”
“Then what can it an?”
“She was moved to tears,” Li Xiangling continued reading from where she stopped. “Look closely. Her cheeks were red, and she was smiling. Did that look like abuse to you?”
“Was she?” Song ng was only paying attention to Yun Xiangxiang’s eyes. She didn’t look too closely.
Li Xiangling didn’t bother explaining to the girl who only had two brain cells. She continued reading.
“Co on. It’s already this late. We’re on vacation. You don’t have to be this serious.” Song ng was bored. “What’s our plan?”
Since Yun Xiangxiang was going for work tomorrow, they had all the ti for themselves. Or so they thought. Yun Xiangxiang had arranged a guide for them.
“I’m planning on going around town,” Li Xiangling finally gave a serious answer. “And then try to see if I can get a part-ti job here.”
“Are you kidding ?!” Song ng was incredulous. “I’m here to let my hair down. How could a rich girl like you work a sumr job here?”
“Having money doesn’t an you can up and not work.” Li Xiangling retorted. “Besides, I’m not just doing it for the money. I’m trying to blend into foreign nations here. It gives a chance to know how to work with people and improve my language proficiency.”
Li Xiangling was willing to co on this trip for two reasons. One, she wouldn’t have much ti to go out with her girls anymore. Two, they ca here during the sumr break, and they were not going to spend all of that ti here.
Since Li Xiangling wanted to study abroad, she had to prepare and seize all kinds of opportunities to better her chances.
Working a sumr job overseas would help in her application.
“You are going to the United States, but we’re in France!” Song ng didn’t want to work at all.
But with Yun Xiangxiang at work, having fun alone wouldn’t be fun at all. Besides, Song ng would worry if she let Li Xiangling work alone.
“So what? They’re both foreign countries. They make no difference to ,” Li Xiangling put her book down and grinned at Song ng.
Song ng covered her face and scread. She gave up. “Fine then. I’ll sacrifice my vacation just for you.”
“We can have fun on the job,” Li Xiangling grinned.
After Yun Xiangxiang had gone to work, Song ng dragged Li Xiangling to have the most fun she could under the guidance of the guy Qi Jun introduced.
“You girls are going to get a part-ti job here?” Yun Xiangxiang found out their plan after she was done with her work for the day.
“En. We had enough fun. We have to make money instead of spending it. Since you’ll be here for a month or so, we found sothing to do.” Song ng was exhausted from having too much fun. She wasn’t too reluctant to find a job now.
“I just want a place to improve myself,” Li Xiangling spoke of her goal.
“I’ll get Qi Jun to find you two a job,” Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t let her friends find a job in Paris on their own.
Besides, a one-month part-ti job wasn’t easy to find. If the grapes would be ripe next month, the vineyards might need them.
“You don’t have to give us special treatnt. We’re not there for the money. We’re there for the training,” Li Xiangling wouldn’t reject any help.
Safety first. She wasn’t there for the money. She wanted to start interacting with foreigners and blending into them.
Yun Xiangxiang ssaged Qi Jun and told him about Li Xiangling’s request.
Qi Jun worked fast. He got the girls a job in a bakery. It was a famous shop in the town. Since sumr ant a massive influx of tourists, they needed so workforce to handle the business.
The girls could go for an interview the next day. The manager needed to know about their language proficiency. Everything else could be quickly learned.
The pair could speak decent English. Song ng might be lacking in the vocabulary departnt, but the bakery didn’t need soone great with words. They just needed to know how to serve the custors.
After Yun Xiangxiang took back the painting from “First Love”‘s filming, her friends went for their part-ti job.
They had a decent salary, and the bakery provided for their als. It wasn’t as strenuous as working in a restaurant. The girls even planned to take inspiration from the bakers in the bakery and learn how to make desserts. In case they failed in everything else after graduation, they could open up a bakery.
After the filming involving the painting was done, Yun Xiangxiang imdiately sent it to Ebner’s place.
