Chapter 166: Questioning the Legitimacy of Her Achievents
“No chemotherapy and transplant?” Yun Xiangxiang was taken aback,
“It has been discussed for a long ti in theory, but no actual breakthrough after all this ti,” Song Mian took Yun Xiangxiang to his work desk. He opened the docunts related to leukemia from his computer.
The jargon in them overwheld Yun Xiangxiang. She pushed the computer away. “You can just explain it to .”
Song Mian chuckled as he sat beside Yun Xiangxiang. “To put it simply, the Western dicine will conduct immunotherapy from the cells, while the Chinese dicine would regulate the liver, spleen, and kidneys.”
“You’re planning to use both thods of treatnt?” Yun Xiangxiang asked again.
Song Mian nodded. “Leukemia is categorised as either acute or chronic. A successful treatnt is highly probable by only using Chinese dicine to treat acute leukemia. But if it’s chronic leukemia, regulation through Chinese dicine might not make it.”
“Acute leukemia has a higher rate of success instead?” Yun Xiangxiang was perplexed. From what she heard, acute diseases were supposed to be the troubleso version.
Song Mian gazed at Yun Xiangxiang gently. His smile was srising. “Acute diseases attack fiercely. If the dicine is prescribed correctly, the effects would be trendous.”
“But if a chronic disease breaks out, that would an the disease is already there for so ti. The body had been damaged to an extent.”
Yun Xiangxiang only realized that now. She placed her chin on one of her hands as she looked up to Song Mian. “I want to know your opinion on Chinese and Western dicine.”
“Knowledge does not belong to any nation. There are pros and cons to Eastern and Western dicine,” Song Mian gave a neutral answer.
“So...which of them has more pros, and which has fewer?” Yun Xiangxiang’s eyes turned. She asked Song Mian a difficult question on purpose.
“It depends. The one you need is the one that has more pros,” Song Mian touched Yun Xiangxiang’s nose with the tip of his fingers.
Chinese dicine is a more stable choice, but it is a slow process. Most people treat ti as their lives now.
Even if they knew that Western dicine would not be able to get to the root of the disease, they would still choose Western dicine. They could not afford to waste ti.
An increasing number of rich people started choosing Chinese dicine now as they had the ti to go through the treatnt after all.
Western dicine works fast, but the human body could resist it easily. Western dicine also cos with relatively larger side effects.
After all, Western dicine targeted symptoms, whereas Chinese dicine treated all the parts of the body in pursuit of balance.
Quick results were not the only advantage of Western dicine. Western dicine would have an advantage in most diseases that needed ergency surgery.
As a dical practitioner, Song Mian would never look down upon soone’s skill, even if he would never abandon his nation’s traditions.
This was why he learned both Chinese and Western dicine.
Nothing is all powerful. Chinese and Western dicine could coexist due to their own pros. It would benefit mankind if they could be used together seamlessly on many diseases.
“I would still encourage our countryn to learn about Chinese dicine more,” Song Mian sighed.
“More and more people are actually paying attention to Chinese dicine now,” Yun Xiangxiang nodded.
“Father has been pouring his efforts in nurturing and protecting the ingredients of Chinese dicine over the past two years,” Song Mian resigned.
Too many elents are involved in Chinese dicine. Nurturing of talents, protection of the ingredients, legacy of the prescriptions...
“I believe in you,” Yun Xiangxiang held Song Mian’s hand.
She knew that Song Mian was not the only one who was working hard, but she would give more support and encouragent to him.
Song Mian went to the hospital where Dong Chen was the next day. It was a pity that Yun Xiangxiang could not go, as her lectures had started. Yun Lin went with him instead. When Yun Lin ca back, he looked up to Song Mian like he was a god.
“Elder sister, did you know? The director ca to welco Brother Mian himself when Brother Mian arrived at the hospital. The director even brought a lot of doctors along and followed behind brother-in-law.”
When Yun Xiangxiang ca back from reporting in to school, Yun Lin regaled Yun Xiangxiang with everything he had seen today excitedly.
It was a colorful tale that was ripe with emotions. He finally concluded, “All n should be like Brother Mian. That’s what success looks like!”
To be standing on the top in one field. Yun Lin seed to have understood sothing. He too wanted to be the top in his favorite field.
“Elder sister has to move to the Song Manor for a while. You co too. Move back here after your school starts,” Yun Xiangxiang loved to ruffle his hair.
Every ti Yun Lin’s hair was ruffled by Yun Xiangxiang, he would comb it slowly with his cheeks puffed. Recently, he had even gotten himself a little mirror.
“Don’t be so pleased of yourself,” Yun Xiangxiang snorted.
Song Mian took them for a roasted duck dinner and sent Li Xiangling and Song ng to their campuses before slowly driving back to the Song Manor.
It was already very late when they arrived. Master Song t up with them. There was already a place cleared out for them.
Yun Xiangxiang and Yun Lin lived in a little courtyard. Both their rooms were neighboring each other.
Yun Xiangxiang needed to wake up earlier in the morning. It was farther from her university here. She had to avoid the peak hours.
Song Mian actually got up to make breakfast for her. Master Song too woke up early to practise.
“It’s in the lunchbox. You can have it while you’re driving or in school,” Song Mian handed an insulated lunch box to her after Yun Xiangxiang finished washing up.
“Thanks for your hard work, Ah Mian,” Yun Xiangxiang gave him a quick kiss before hopping into her car.
She of course had to finish the good stuff in the car. Everyone would grab it after she arrived at her dorm room.
Even so, Yun Xiangxiang still kindly bought so morning snacks from the cafeteria for them. The trio were still sleeping when she arrived.
“Wake up. You’re going to be late if you sleep in,” Yun Xiangxiang woke them up not-so-politely when she stepped into the room.
The trio foggily washed up before sitting around the table to have the snacks Yun Xiangxiang bought for them.
Tao Manni’s eyes were still sleepy. “Xiangxiang, don’t you need to get used to it? I wake up at ten during the holidays.”
“I wake up at five thirty every day,” Yun Xiangxiang replied.
Tao Manni was dazed. She decided to not speak. She lowered her head to finish her snacks.
“Oh yeah. Xiangxiang, the rankings for our course was released yesterday night. You are in third place.” Ma Linlin rembered the main business. “Our class snagged two places in the top three. The class president is in top place. Second place cos from the class next door.”
“Xiangxiang, give so of those smarts,” Feng Xiaolu was upset when she rembered that she had to retake the exam.
She went to class every day. Even when they say that a university student that does not skip class is a failed one, she still dared not to skip out on classes. Despite that, she still failed.
Yun Xiangxiang could still place third within their course even when she took nearly three months leave to film. Would that an that she could be first place without leave?
“If you wake up at five thirty in the morning like I do, I guarantee you can be first place in our course.”
Everyone was smart in this school. They were top students from their ho. They did not need anyone else’s smarts.
“Look at . I look like this when I wake up now. Do you expect to sleep with a book in my hand if I wake up at five?” Feng Xiaolu squinted.
“Bad news! Bad news!” Yun Xiangxiang was about to say sothing when Zhu Yuan rushed in hurriedly.
She dashed to stand in front of Yun Xiangxiang. Anxiously, she said, “Xiangxiang, the class president of the third class is appealing for a recheck of the results. She thinks that your results are not legit.”
“My results are not legit?” Yun Xiangxiang was astonished.
