Hellmode ~Gamer Who Likes to Speedrun Becomes Peerless in a Parallel World with Obsolete Setting~ Vol. 12 - Chapter 700 - Party’s Final Weapon is
Entering the eting after a leisure bath, a nap, and another shower, Rosalina found herself an empty seat.
She picked up one of the fruits and hurled the question that she happened to hear while taking a few bites of it.
"And what's that final weapon you're talking about?"
Shea had her gaze on Rosalina but when the topic ca around, she shifted her gaze back to Allen. Kurena beside them was waiting excitedly with eyes full of anticipation. It seed like she was completely hooked on the 'final weapon' vibe.
"...Before I explain, first I want you all to know that the «Burst of Divine Technique! The 100 strike's Grand Strategy!» isn't a fair technique. We're going to abuse the exploits within, and the fight would be anything but upright. In short, you can expect the unexpected."
(It brings back the nostalgia of defeating bosses by taking advantage of exploits in chanics when they're generally ant to be unbeatable.)
There were usually two general scenarios where enemies were invincible in the previous world:
1. They're in the so called 'Losing Scenario,' where the bosses were invincible for story reason. A player could have the ti of the whole world in his hand, but even with max levelled characters, it's just impossible to defeat invincibility.
And in the rare scenario that you one even made it past them sohow, the conversation or cutscene afterward would still play like the player had lost.
2. The second scenario was played out when the boss could only be slayed by extrely narrow thods, or when the boss's paraters were full bonkers.
This was usually the problem found in challenging online gas. Soti, the bosses would've
to be faced in a certain rotation, and a misstep could easily overwrite the previous effort. In such cases, the boss would've an absurdly high HP and often their self-recovery outsmart any damage, resulting in no damage. Once you're stuck in a loop, even an unlimited number of healing or revival would help out in defeating the boss.
At the end of all paths—when players had exhausted all the thods possible, had suffered countless defeats, or burned out—their next option would be to spot the loophole of the chanic and exploit it.
(Hmm, well it's not the surefire way like guaranteed critic after 8 tis of dodging, but as long as we have the final weapon, the situation wouldn't be hopeless for sure. As long as it clears the way, fair or unfair doesn't matter. The question is how much leeway it can grant us however.)
"...Gracious, never had I imagined I would hear you talking about 'common sense', Allen."
(How rude.)
Though Allen disagrees, the rest of mbers assertively nodded against Shea's quip. They're well aware of Allen's ans, and most of them often surpassed any boundary of common sense they'd known. So when Allen says he was adopting an extre asure, it had everyone caught in their breath.
"First of all, we have to revise our combat pattern first. We can't just hope that debuffs conveniently applied themselves, or that the situation sohow made it easy to link our combos for divine technique. I just happened to know one perfect candidate for the situation."
Their first mistake was to challenge an undefeatable enemy fair and square.
"Uh-oh, so that's what you're planning huh. But for that, we need so way to 'persuade' him."
"Huh, what are yoo—ohhh. You an him? I see, then we certainly have a solid chance."
"I know, right? As long as we're not going all fair and frontal, it's his place to shine. Besides, he should have spare ti now since he has already sorted out his work."
Sophie and Shea remarked.
(They both have sharp intuition.)
"Uh-huh, so him huh."
"Hmph, so you're talking about him. You're right, his help is definitely much needed here."
Following them, Kurena and rle quipped thoughtfully, feigning an 'understanding expression.'
"Hmm? I don't get it. So, are we like, going to call soone?"
(Heh, I didn't expect Keel to fail in realising. Or well, maybe this is how the squad of tactician and attackers balance out.)
The current strategy thought by Allen wasn't precisely an unfamiliar one—their group had dabbled into all sorts of strategy in the academy—however Keel had yet to hit that epiphany.
Perhaps the difference in thinking had been brought by each other's contrastive role. Keel had the role to protect everyone, so for him, no matter what changes occur, keeping everyone alive took precedence over anything.
"Ditto. Alright, wait a minute. I will explain why we need that comrade."
And soon, Allen explained the overall situation and why they would need that person.
After the explanation, in the anti Dogora also reached the conclusion 'ah, make sense,' Allen made a trip to the Capital Ruble of Heavenly Sandal Nation. And after what seed to be several minutes had passed, he returned back with the said person.
"Woah, hey, Allen. Why such a hurry! Hey, are you listening to ?! And what did you an by 'it will take ti, so you can return to the surface first' to Fiona?? —Aargh, I said, I am asking sothing!!"
The others first heard a burst of complaints. Though unfazed, Allen quietly entered the room while grabbing the arm of said person.
"......"
"......"
"......"
"ALLE—huh..? Oh, yo, every......one?"
The newcor then took notice of the surrounding, and took a heavy gult seeing everyone's intense stare on him.
"I had to make it quick, but anyway, take a seat here first, Peromas. I will explain things. —Sorry, Formar. Can you take another seat?"
"Alright."
"What? No, you don't have to do that. I can find myself a seat."
"Now there, Peromas-san, relax. Just take your seat and relax."
The newcor—Peromas didn't fancy the idea soone had to leave their seat for him, however Sophie, with her gentle voice, smoothen the confusion and guided him to take the seat.
"Alright, so what's all this about, eh? I wonder why you're in such a hurry to bring here."
After taking the seat, Peromas turned to Allen and at long last demanded for the due explanation that Allen had skipped.
"Of course, but before that, thank you very much for the 100 million gold you had granted. You have no idea how imnsely helpful it was to us."
(Because of that, we at least managed to cent so faith for Allen Army in the Five Continent Alliance to go against the Demon King Army.)
During the council of Five Continent Alliance in May, Allen had raised the suggestion for reformation of the academy system. He had pushed to allow the noble students at duty to change their job at the academy of Latashu Kingdom, but for that, he had needed an exorbitant amount of sum.
As it stood, the suggestion was impossible to adopt when the academy in Latashu Kingdom had no way to accommodate the students from all over the world, seeking to fight the Demon King Army. The fund was thus needed to expand the premise of the academy.
In the conference, he boldly declared that the Allen Army will prepare the fund of 100 million gold coins and appealed to have his plan accepted.
Later, they ca to the divine realm where Peromas overca the trial of the rchant God Marne, and with his help, they were able to make a deal with the Heavenly Kingdom Sandal and consequently securing the 100 million gold coins he had announced.
"Geez, it's already a bygone matter. No need to thank ."
Receiving yet another wave of gratitude, Peromas reverted in slight awkwardness.
"However, that gave the Over-Spender rchant Guild a chance to shoot through the ceiling of No.1 rchant Guild! The Bowkis Empire was apparently thrown upside down because they’d never expected the Dwarfs would ever be dethroned from their top spot."
"It wouldn't have been possible without your support in managing Allen Army's finances."
rle modestly remarked, praising Peromas's achievent.
It happened that the Over-Spender rchant guild which had been affiliated to Allen Army beca number one in sales worldwide.
As far as it had been known, the top 30 rankings were always monopolised by Dwarfs no matter what. The only ti a guild spearheaded by human race jumped into top 10 ranking was when Bowkis Empire was still in its foundation stage as Bowkis kingdom. The turmoil in Bowkis Empire was thus to be expected when a human race guided guild, blessed by rchant God, managed to break through the ranking of No.1.
"It's just your humility, Peromas. Not everyone would have the guts to raid the citadel of Demon King Army, but you did with Big Brother Beck, exposed their deeds, and saved the soul of Macris."
The braveness just to jump on that quest would never not be comndable—so Shea interjected.
"That was when I was Emperor huh. For the sake of Peromus' lover, I gave up my ambitions—well, who am i kidding, the truth is my ambitions were never comparable to yours."
Ignomas added in understanding.
It was when he had his ambition shattered by Allen's party after rising the rebellion. Ignomas had questioned them why they ca for Prostea Empire, and the truth—Peromas had transford into r-man and sneaked into the Prostea Empire to obtain the 'Tears of Macris,' all to save his beloved—had left him all shaken.
Having grown up in an empire that had always advocated for the supremacy of lineage, and harbouring the talent of the Spear King, Ignomas had always believed talent was everything. He had never imagined that a man without the grace of talent, or born in a commoner ouse, would do sothing as drastic as stacking his life for soone else. It had him question the aning of his whole life.
"Oh please, you're giving more credit than what was ant to be a sidetask during retrieval of Beast King's proof. Anyway, why are you all so intently lauding with praises, eh, it's unsettling?!"
"There you go again with your modesty. It could've never been possible without your love for Fiore-san."
"For crying out loud, just accept it. Can you believe it, the Peromas I had thought to be my lackey took off in life first."
The remark this ti ca from Dogora.
Peromas was the child of village chief of Kurena Village, and Dogora was the son of blacksmith from the sa village. They both had been acquaintances of each other long before even eting Kurena or Allen.
Back then, the duo's dynamic was like a boss and his henchman, having an inseparable distance from each other. However, Dogora had begun to harbor a sort—while it wasn't jealousy—icky feeling when he saw Peromas was gradually earning the recognition of the world.
"Dogora......"
"Alright, back to the main topic. Peroamas, I actually have a little favour to ask you."
Just as it seed like the air in the room had started to grow heavy, Allen interjected and started to explain why he brought Peromas there.
"A favour? Sure, how much do we need to earn?"
Their previous mission of raising 100 million gold coins was already accomplished. So Peromas thought it might be another business matter.
"Well, not so much about earning money. How should I put it... It’s a little hard to ask."
"Huh? My words, why do you have to be fidgety? Just ask what you want. I an, I am sure my marriage with Fiona wouldn't have been possible without you, Allen. Oh, and I appreciate everyone's help just as much. So you really don't have to be reserved."
Peromas showed that he felt indebted to Allen and his comrades.
"Woah, really? Yay, so we're also a team!"
"A friend's always welco."
"Well, to be frank, it's more of an invitation than a favour."
(C'mon . Just be casual, imagine you're putting yet another invitation to fight a raid boss in ga.)
"Invitation?"
"Yep, for a hunt!"
Tee-hee☆
While mulling how he would have rather wished for the talent of a rchant for this mont, Allen flashed a bright smile and put forth the invitation.
"Hunt? What are we going to hunt? Just so you know, I am not really good at such things."
"Haha, I know you're smart! It's just a small matter. It happened that there's an opponent we are unabling to win just by ourselves. I know it might sound impromptu, however listen to this one like so good old friend!"
"Err... an opponent your team is finding it impossible to take down? Speaking of, this is supposed to be a fort near a Spiritual Disturbance Zone, right?"
Peromas imdiately realised sothing was amiss when he saw Allen's face pulling that shady smile. Even the rest of his comrades were showing a broad smile as if to say it's not a big deal.
Instinctively, feeling a danger to himself, Peromas' gaze shifted toward the exit as if seeking an escape route, however it was promptly blocked out by Formar who had just left his seat for him.
At long last, Peromas realised he was trapped.
"Look at you, your smartness really lives up to its praise. I believe I must have inford you before that we're intending to fight Nestirad. And well, we did, and faced utter defeat. I had thought of using different tactics, but then it occurred to that your skill and divine technique is just a match made for this occasion."
For a brief mont, Peromas already envisioned his legs and arms flying around, and his heart being gouged out.
"Believe , there'll be no danger to your safety. If anything you're just going to use your skill from the rearguard."
"What're you saying? Never in my life can I do that!"
Peromas retorted with teary eyes, however Shea stepped forward and explained.
"You're just being modest. I have never been so confident about anyone if they can pull it. Ah, though we do need to do so coordination training to foolproof your safety. anwhile, I will use this chance to change my job."
"Hmm? Oh, you're right. We need to iron out our plan more. Shea, you focus on raising skill after job change first. And since we're at it, you should also change your job, our dear rchant King."
Not waiting for what Peromas had to say, Allen promptly began with the plan for the future.
"Hello~? I am speaking sothing here... no one's listening?"
Seeing no escape route, and having been caught up in their pace, Peromas's shoulder dropped in a heavy sigh.
T/N - *The last two chapters were ant to be count in last week's update. This one's Tuesday update.
Also, will be adjusting the details in all the chapters soon. I didn't notice, but it appear this series has seen multiple translators, so the glossary and updated chapters didn't exactly match, and that's why so discrepancy arises (like spirit paradise vs spirit garden). I will replace with whatever is the latest.
