Fortunately, Lariette's discharge on the next day was smooth. She didn't bother telling anyone in the family even though Samantha and Stephanie tried contacting her.
The mother and daughter didn't call or text Lariette because they were worried about her. Their main focus was on getting the young lady to forgive Damien.
Lariette ignored all of the ssages and calls from Samantha and Stephanie. She hadn't blocked them like Damien yet.
Didn't Samantha tell her to get another man if she didn't want Damien anymore? So, why bother to pressure her to forgive that scumbag?
Surely, there was sothing behind it.
"Miss Elsher, you're required to co next week for another check-up. Please make sure to abide by the advice. Aside from staying away from any strenuous activities, your diet is also important."
Lariette listened to her physician, Dr. Carter well. She thanked the professional lady a few years her senior before leaving the office with Madeline. Her next destination was her friend's apartnt, Celesta Villa.
"I think that bastard still loiters around your place," said Madeline as she drove the car. Her eyes glanced at Lariette on the passenger seat, "Should we get a restraining order?"
Madeline went to Lariette's apartnt with a group of helpers the other day. They packed the necessary items before moving so to the forr's place while keeping the others in storage.
Lariette had revoked Damien's access to her apartnt yet, the man stubbornly tried to get into her place. She didn't know for what reason. He didn't have belongings there.
Perhaps, the relentless scumbag tried to assert dominance.
"Don't bother with him," replied Lariette quietly. She closed her eyes, trying to endure the slight throbbing of her head, "I'll move out of that place soon."
Lariette had several properties under her na, including the apartnt she had been living in for the past two years. She owned them due to Chairman Delaney's generosity.
"Oh, to Lumina?" Madeline stopped at the red light. Grinning, she looked at Lariette aningfully, "Finally out of the boring place?"
"Luckily, yes. Urgh, I don't want to rember how foolish I was. How could I leave there because of him?"
"That's fine! Back to your colors and flowers! Screw that bastard!"
Madeline's energetic reaction earned chuckles from Lariette. Her friend's enthusiasm helped to lessen her guilt for her previous stupidity.
The apartnt Lariette loved the most was in Lumina Spring. The complex was only ten minutes by car from the school where she worked as a teacher.
Lariette decorated the place to her taste – in colorful pastel colors and cute prints. She loved everything in that apartnt but, Damien often degraded her preferences as childish.
"Lari, you're not five. How could you live in such a place? Move to Boulevard Suites, won't you?"
Damien persuaded Lariette to move into her apartnt unit in Boulevard Suites, gifted by Chairman Delaney on her twenty-fifth birthday.
The place was far more luxurious than Lumina Spring. She also hadn't touched its original decor.
Boulevard Suites was forty minutes from the school but, Lariette ended up moving in there after Damien's constant persuasion. The place was near his abode in another luxury complex.
Lariette wanted to give splashes of bright colors to the monochro apartnt but, Damien talked her out of it.
Argh!
"He won't give up easily but, I don't care. I still have the proof of him cheating."
"It's lucky he's not aware yet," Madeline snickered, applauding Damien's foolishness, "He's really caught in 4K."
"All because of you."
Lariette pointed out, earning hearty laughter from Madeline.
Lariette had access to Damien's ho caras. She had almost forgotten about it until Madeline asked whether she had the evidence of the scumbag cheating or not.
Fortunately, the living room caras caught . She downloaded all necessary videos before making copies in several cloud storage.
Still, she hoped she didn't have to resort to using the videos.
Last Saturday, Lariette went to Damien's apartnt without telling him. She wanted to surprise him after returning from a short trip.
Never once did Lariette expect to witness Damien drilling his puny wood into another woman's lady pit on the couch. What shocked her more was the woman's identity!
That freaking mistress was Damien's new subordinate at his father's company!
"Urgh... I want to forget that scene. How gross."
Shaking her head, Lariette ran her fingers through her luscious brown locks. She shuddered as disgust flared to her entire body, arising from the disgusting scene she was forced to witness.
"Now, focus on eting my cousin. You can deal with that scumbag later."
"Yeah, I'll do that."
Lariette nodded, sharing the sa sentint with Madeline. She had already asked her friend to relay a ssage to Ruediger, asking for permission to have his number.
Lariette and Ruediger planned to et this Thursday, two days from now. Madeline would accompany them, as a friend and a cousin for both parties.
Leaning her head toward the window, Lariette threw her gaze outside. The sumr sky of Avaloria City was bright. She wished her future going forward would be as radiant as the sky.
"Haa... I hope the eting will go well."
"It will. Lari, don't worry," Madeline quickly replied. She slowed the speed as the vehicle approached an intersection, "Rest well today and tomorrow, en?"
"Okay."
Following Madeline's advice, Lariette focused on relaxing during her stay at the forr's apartnt. She was also well-fed by the deliveries received by Madeline two tis a day, for lunch and dinner.
"The dishes all look ho-cooked," said Lariette once during dinner, "Do you hire a private chef?"
Grinning, Madeline pushed a bowl of fish soup to Lariette, "Well~ You'll know soon. Have more of this soup. It's good for your injuries."
Lariette was suspicious of the mischievous look in Madeline's eyes but, she paid not much attention to it. All that mattered was every dish brought by her friend was delicious.
After two days of relaxing in Madeline's place by ignoring Samantha and Stephanie's calls, Lariette finally ventured out of the apartnt. She and her friend would et Ruediger at Suit & Tie.
Lariette happily thought about how bright the sumr day was until soone's appearance dampened her mood.
Halting in her tracks, Lariette's gaze landed on a slender figure standing a few feet away. The woman's smooth blond locks fluttered as she turned to face Lariette.
"What are you doing here, Stephanie?"
Lariette's striking sapphire eyes collided with Stephanie's blue-gray ones.
