She never expected such words to leave her second son's mouth.

'Impossible…'

Earlier, her husband had reassured her that Xiǎo Bāo was fine, explaining that the overseer of the Detention Center had promised her safety and that she was supposed to be picked up today.

i Lian looked over at her husband, her eyes silently pleading for an explanation. She struggled to hold back her tears.

Feeling the weight of his wife's intense gaze, Feng Yuanyun sighed. He wanted to leave, but knew he couldn't ignore her questions—or else.

'Fuck…'

Despite his deep love for her, Feng Yuanyun couldn't help but dread the inevitable headache this situation would bring.

Looking up from his plate, he glanced at his second son, who was calmly eating, completely unfazed by the heartbreaking news he had just delivered—though it seed only heartbreaking to his wife.

"Feng Shen, would you mind explaining this to your mother in more detail?"

Feng Yuanyun really didn't want to ask, suspecting that his second son had probably killed her. After all, he had seen the other maidservants he had murdered in cold blood.

"Hmm?" Feng Shen shrugged, taking a sip from his small cup of alcohol. "It's quite simple. She killed herself," he replied nonchalantly.

Slam!

i Lian slamd her hands on the table, her expression a mix of sadness and anger as she glared daggers at her second son. "You will tell everything this instant!" she demanded, frustrated by his lack of detail.

"Excuse ?" Feng Shen paused, placing the small cup down as he turned to look at his mother. "It'd be smarter for you to just keep your mouth shut."

i Lian opened her mouth to yell at her second son, but just as she was about to speak, she felt her body freeze.

It was as if the entire room had gone black, and all she could see was a demon staring right at her.

Gulping, i Lian felt beads of sweat forming on her forehead, overwheld by the sensation of faintness. She wanted to scream but couldn't.

She found herself trapped in this space.

Killing intent leaked from Feng Shen as he glared at his mother, clearly displeased. He detested being questioned by won, especially trophy wives.

"I want to make myself perfectly clear: I didn't allow you to speak to , but I let it slide the first ti. Don't think you can open your mouth again, and honestly, I don't care about your feelings."

"I... I... I... apologize..." i Lian's voice trembled as tears filled her eyes. As her surroundings returned to normal, she looked around and saw everything back to where it had been before.

Though she found herself panting, overwheld by fear and a torrent of other emotions.

Her husband and first son hadn't even protected her, her "daughter" was dead, and the mommy's boy she once knew was gone.

'He's a monster... I can't let him grow... I can't, or else I'll be dead.' Feng Wuhao struggled to catch his breath, sweating as he tried to regain his composure.

He had never felt such killing intent in his life.

Feng Wuhao hurriedly wiped his mouth and stood up. "Father, Mother, Little Brother, you must excuse ; I'm beyond exhausted." Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked away.

He wanted to start hiring the necessary people, and he definitely didn't want to spend another second in the sa room as his brother.

As the doors shut, silence enveloped the room, broken only by strange noises.

The maidservants standing off to the side had wet themselves, finding themselves on their knees, while so of those closer to the Second Young Master had even fainted.

The only one unaffected was Feng Yuanyun, who was in the Upper Stage of the Sacred Realm. He coughed as he turned his attention to his second son.

"How can you release such killing intent?" he asked, curiosity evident in his tone, completely uncaring about his surroundings.

He understood that the intensity of the killing intent was overwhelming; for soone at a weaker level of cultivation to release such killing intent was sothing he had never seen himself.

This was the killing intent of soone who had slaughtered nurous cultivators and possessed a significant amount of experience in life and death.

Yawning, Feng Shen replied with a smirk dancing on his lips, "I've walked between life and death my entire life. Releasing such low-amount killing intent is easy."

He wasn't lying. In his past life, he had danced with death and life, holding hands with both as he did everything to provoke them.

Feng Shen had dove headfirst into slaughtering and often found himself on the verge of death.

Rubbing his chin, Feng Yuanyun spoke aloud in pride, "Interesting, very interesting! You truly are a Qinglong, not just a simple dragon. Our family will reach new heights with you, boy!" He began laughing.

"Now, let us drink!" He grabbed the entire bottle of alcohol, stood up, and moved behind his second son to pour a drink.

"You are the pride of the Feng family. Starting today, you have free access to our resources!" Feng Yuanyun had completely forgotten about his first son, the one he had once placed all his hopes on.

Now, all his focus was on his second son.

Accepting the alcohol by holding his small cup in place, Feng Shen displayed a small smile without saying a word.

To him, this was rely a trivial achievent—nothing significant. In the future, this family would burn regardless.

i Lian couldn't bring herself to look at her second son and remained silent, uncertain of what to say.

A whirlwind of complicated emotions continued to course through her, leaving her unable to think clearly.

The maidservants who had overheard the patriarch's words were eager to leave and spread the news that it seed he had chosen the next patriarch.

The First Young Master, who had held the hearts of all these won, was now gone, replaced by the Second Young Master, who appeared even more handso.
