"Anyways, you should rember—if you want to kill a spirit beast, make absolutely sure it’s below the Foundation Establishnt realm," Chen i said seriously.

Her purple eyes were solemn as she glanced back at the Frostvenom Python.

After swallowing Yi Bei, the massive beast hadn’t moved, simply watching them in eerie silence.

"Do you have any need for this person, Senior?" Chen i asked cautiously.

Truth be told, neither of them knew if this "Senior Frost" was protecting Yi Bei—or if it had simply swallowed him whole.

The Frostvenom Python paused for a few seconds before nodding its head, hissing softly as if to imply that it did, indeed, need Yi Bei for sothing.

Chen i remained silent, her expression unreadable, before finally asking, "Does he need to be dead or alive, Senior?"

The python fell quiet again, as though deep in thought, before eventually shaking its head.

After another brief hesitation, it opened its jaws and spat Yi Bei out onto the ground.

The mont Yi Bei hit the ground, he erupted into panicked screams, his voice raw and frantic.

"AHHHHHH! DAMN IT! YOU DAMN SNAKE, LET OUT OF HERE, YOU—" It was clear that being swallowed whole by the Frostvenom Python had jolted him out of unconsciousness—and straight into blind terror.

Yi Bei suddenly froze, swallowing hard as his eyes darted between the Frostvenom Python, Lin Feng—whose murderous intent was palpable—and Chen i, who regarded him with cold indifference.

He opened his mouth to speak, his voice trembling. "Wait, I—"

Before he could finish, the Frostvenom Python, still angered by his earlier curses, let out a sharp hiss.

A single drop of gleaming blue venom dripped from its fangs, striking Yi Bei squarely on the chest.

At first, he felt nothing. Blinking in confusion, he touched the spot where the venom had landed.

"Wha-what was that?" His voice quivered as unease crept into his heart.

Then, without warning, an icy blue hue spread rapidly from his chest.

A violent shiver wracked his body as an unbearable cold surged through his veins. "A-AAAHHH!"

Yi Bei collapsed to the ground, his screams echoing as the venom’s chilling poison consud him.

"H-he-help... it’s so c-cold..." Yi Bei whimpered, curling into himself in a desperate attempt to preserve his body heat.

But it was useless.

Within seconds, the one who had once terrorized them lay frozen solid—his life snuffed out in a cold, agonizing silence.

Lin Feng, watching the grueso scene unfold, felt an involuntary shiver crawl down his spine.

Despite not being the one frozen to death, a chilling dread seeped into his bones.

Without realizing it, he took a cautious step back.

The Frostvenom Python, still appearing faintly annoyed, opened its jaws once more.

This ti, as it swallowed Yi Bei whole, its throat muscles visibly shifted—fully consuming him without leaving a trace behind.

"Thank you for enacting justice, Senior," Chen i said, bowing gracefully.

A beautiful smile now adorned her face, her earlier indifference replaced by quiet satisfaction.

Lin Feng, who had been monts away from finishing off Yi Bei himself, suddenly felt a bit strained.

The murderous intent surging from his body was forcefully suppressed, leaving a faint discomfort in his chest.

He sighed inwardly, thinking to himself:

"I’m not sure if that guy was lucky or unlucky that I wasn’t the one to finish him off."

[Responding to host: He was unlucky. If the host had killed him, his death would have been swift. The Frostvenom Python’s venom, however, caused him to suffer imnsely in his final monts.]

Hearing the system’s cold, matter-of-fact response, Lin Feng paused.

The tension in his chest—born from being denied his personal revenge—gradually faded. With a wry smile, he thought:

"Thanks, system."

[...]

Lin Feng didn’t hear the system respond to his gratitude, but he still smiled faintly.

Bowing his head toward the Frostvenom Python, he spoke respectfully:

"Thank you, Senior, for taking revenge on our behalf."

The Frostvenom Python fixed its cold, serpentine gaze on Lin Feng, lingering for a few seconds as if unsure of how to deal with him.

Slowly, it slithered closer, lowering its massive head to sniff him once before pulling back.

After a brief pause, it gave a slight nod, as though it had finally reached a decision.

"Hiss."

Lin Feng, who had been watching the beast intently, suddenly froze as the system’s chanical voice echoed in his mind once again:

[It says that if the host ets the Blackwood Ruler again, to send its regards.]

Lin Feng’s eyes widened in shock.

He hadn’t expected the Frostvenom Python to know the Blackwood Ruler—let alone be on familiar terms with it.

Lin Feng took a deep breath, calming his nerves before lifting his head to face the Frostvenom Python.

With a serious expression, he gave a respectful nod and said,

"Understood, Senior."

Chen i, who had been observing the exchange in silence, suddenly widened her eyes in shock. Without hesitation, she blurted out,

"Hey, Lin Feng! Can you actually understand what Senior Frost is saying? Why did you respond like that? What did he say?"

Her voice brimd with excitent, curiosity lighting up her face.

In her eagerness, she unconsciously grabbed Lin Feng’s hand, holding it tightly against her chest.

Lin Feng stiffened at her touch, but that wasn’t what unsettled him.

A faint sense of anxiety crept into his heart—a sinking feeling that, sohow, he had made a mistake.

"Crap, I forgot that other people don’t have the system like I do—so they can’t understand what these spiritual beasts are saying."

Lin Feng’s mind raced as he prepared to make up so nonsense explanation.

But before he could speak, he suddenly felt sothing soft and smooth against his hand—like polished jade untouched by the mortal world.

His thoughts ca to an abrupt halt.

Lin Feng’s gaze drifted downward, realizing that his hand was pressed against Chen i.

When he looked up, their eyes t—her widened purple eyes gleaming like gemstones, filled with surprise.

For a mont, both of them froze, neither of them expecting things to take such an... unexpected turn.
