Zhao Ruoying had made her position clear. Qin Long could not be touched today.
I’ll just have to find another opportunity to deal with him.
To think she would threaten to withdraw her investnt over a cripple... and such a massive investnt at that. It’s a fortune that a loser like Qin Long couldn’t earn in ten lifetis! The more Jin Yuan thought about it, the angrier he beca.
BANG!
Just as he was about to push open the door, a graceful figure slowly approached, instantly blocking his path. With no outlet for his pent-up rage, Jin Yuan glared furiously at the newcor. When he saw the woman’s face clearly, his expression changed dramatically. A woman dressed in a black suit and a ladies’ tie stood there, her expression nonchalant. It was none other than Jiang Haijing.
"Madam Jiang, what brings you on an inspection tour? Your presence truly graces our humble establishnt! I’ll have a hotel arranged for you right away!"
The previously arrogant Jin Yuan was now all smiles, bowing and scraping like a fawning pug. He was probably more excited than if he were seeing his own mother.
Jiang Haijing was a major figure in the River City governnt, and she wielded imnse power. Every project audit and inspection for the Jin Family Group fell under her supervision. If this woman was displeased, the Jin Family Group could face bankruptcy at any mont.
This is not soone I can afford to provoke! She’s more precious than my own mother; she’s an ancestor to be worshipped! How could I not grovel?
"I’m just taking a casual look around." Jiang Haijing gave him a faint smile and walked into the office.
"I’ll have soone prepare the materials right now. I wasn’t aware of your inspection, Madam Jiang. Please forgive my oversight!" Jin Yuan imdiately clasped his hands together, following her with an embarrassed look on his face.
"Actually, I’m here on a personal matter. A good friend’s child studies here. I heard Young Master Jin has put quite a bit of effort into the arrangents, so I thought I’d take a look since I had the ti."
Upon hearing this, Jin Yuan was startled and subconsciously glanced at Wang Hu. Well now, Wang Hu, you sly dog. How did you get such a strong connection? You actually know Madam Jiang?
He took her seemingly casual remark to heart and began to ponder its deeper aning. With powerful people, you always have to read between the lines. They can’t be too direct; it would be undignified. It’s up to their subordinates to figure things out. You can only survive and thrive by constantly guessing what the big shots are thinking.
"Ah, Madam Jiang, I understand now!" Jin Yuan said. "I will make sure Young Master Wang’s son is well taken care of."
He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and glared coldly at Zhao Ruoying. You don’t dare to back this loser now, do you? With Madam Jiang here, I bet you won’t even dare to fart!
"Young Master Wang? What Young Master Wang?" Jiang Haijing asked, completely baffled.
"Well..." Jin Yuan faltered, confused. "Madam Jiang, aren’t you here to visit Young Master Wang Hu’s son?" He gestured toward Wang Hu with his chin.
But Wang Hu was just as bewildered. He didn’t know a powerful figure like Madam Jiang at all!
Jiang Haijing glanced at Wang Hu, then looked back at Jin Yuan, her face a mask of utter confusion. This change made a cold sweat break out on Jin Yuan’s back as he sensed sothing was terribly wrong. Jiang Haijing then let out a soft sigh and said nothing more. Her silence terrified Jin Yuan more than any words could.
"Mr. Qin, may I treat you to a al?" Jiang Haijing asked, looking at Qin Long politely. "It would also be a good opportunity to thank you for your help last ti."
While she wasn’t fawning over him like Zhao Ruoying, her tone was still extrely respectful.
At the ntion of "Mr. Qin," everyone’s jaws nearly hit the floor. Jin Yuan’s mouth gaped wide enough to fit a duck egg, and Wang Hu began to tremble with fear. In contrast, Qin Long remained perfectly calm, completely unfazed.
The "Mr. Qin" Jiang Haijing ntioned was actually Qin Long! Zhao Ruoying, with her unparalleled wealth in River City, and Jiang Haijing, with her imnse authority, were both his friends! He’s just a cripple, a loser! How can he summon such powerful figures to back him up so easily? Just who in the world is he?
"WAAH!"
Wang Hu hugged himself and began to bawl with terror.
I’m finished! My family’s company is finished! At first, I thought offending Zhao Ruoying would just cost so money at worst. But now Jiang Haijing is here too. I know now that I’ve provoked soone truly terrifying. There’s absolutely no chance of a coback this ti. We’ll definitely go bankrupt, and I’ll probably spend the rest of my life in prison!
Even Jin Yuan, who had been so arrogant monts ago, now felt completely lost and helpless, his heart seized by panic.
It’s over...
"Auntie, what were their demands for settling this?" Qin Long asked, looking over at Tang Yuehua.
"They demanded five million yuan and for you to kneel and apologize in front of all the teachers," Tang Yuehua replied, having grasped the situation.
"Haha, how shaless," Qin Long said, a hint of derision in his eyes as he quietly sipped his tea.
At that mont, Jin Yuan could feel the intense stares of the two powerful won burning into him. Make Qin Long kneel and apologize? This Jin Yuan... isn’t he just courting death?
Sensing their fury, Jin Yuan felt his back beco drenched in cold sweat. If they join forces against the Jin Family... the Jin Corporation will have to declare bankruptcy and liquidate today!
At that thought, he imdiately strode over to Wang Hu and kicked him hard.
"AHHH!"
Wang Hu scread in pain. Jin Yuan then dragged him like a dead dog to Qin Long’s side.
"Young Master Qin, this bastard deceived ! It was all his fault!" Jin Yuan pleaded, his face twitching as he awaited a response. "Otherwise, how would I ever have dared to disrespect you!"
He could afford to be defiant with Zhao Ruoying; at worst, he’d just lose so money. But in front of Jiang Haijing, he didn’t dare so much as fart. Besides, he knew now that as long as he earned Qin Long’s forgiveness, everything would be fine.
"Oh, hold on now. Haven’t I knelt to apologize to you yet?" Qin Long said teasingly, raising an eyebrow.
"No, no! It should be Young Master Wang who apologizes to you all!" Jin Yuan said, his body trembling as he bowed his head obsequiously.
"But we haven’t transferred the five million yuan yet," Qin Long said, feigning concern. "Should I write you an IOU?"
Hearing this, Jin Yuan imdiately began waving his arms frantically. "Young Master Qin, your auntie must have misrembered! It is I and Young Master Wang who will personally provide five million yuan for dical expenses!" He then turned to Tang Yuehua with a shaless, pleading expression. "Isn’t that right, Miss Tang?"
"I..." Tang Yuehua was speechless with shock.
"Young Master Qin, your younger sister was injured at this school. It was our oversight," Jin Yuan continued. "You must accept this five million yuan for her dical expenses and emotional distress!" He looked at Qin Long with a broad, fawning smile. "Young Master Qin, what do you say?"
"Auntie, what do you think?" Qin Long deferred the decision to Tang Yuehua.
Tang Yuehua’s heart was still pounding in her chest; she hadn’t yet been able to process everything.
"Young Master Qin, Miss Tang, I, Jin Yuan, will personally cover all of Xuexue’s future tuition and living expenses. I guarantee that she will never be hard at this school again! I swear it on my honor as the young master of the Jin Family!"
Though young, Jin Yuan knew the key to resolving this crisis was Qin Long. He had to satisfy him completely, otherwise his father would kill him when he got ho.
While still speaking, Jin Yuan called his secretary and instructed her to make the transfer on the spot. He quickly got Tang Yuehua’s account number, and monts later, she received a notification that five million yuan had been deposited.
Seeing Qin Long’s expression soften considerably, Jin Yuan hastily wiped the beads of sweat from his forehead.
"Young Master Qin, since things are settled here, shall we go?" Jiang Haijing said, completely ignoring Jin Yuan as she personally helped Qin Long to his feet.
Behind them, the sounds of Wang Hu’s anguished wails echoed in the office.
