「On the other side.」

In the Tang Family's small courtyard, Wang Ming and Zhang ilan were happily chatting. Tang Xuewu was still busy with a project at the company and wouldn't be back until very late.

"Auntie Lan, Xuewu is working overti again. Should I bring her a late-night snack?" Wang Ming asked, deliberately watching Zhang ilan to gauge her reaction. From her attitude, it was clear she was no longer as enthusiastic toward him as she had been before.

"There's no need to trouble yourself, Young Master Wang. Qin Long has already hired a driver who is also a bodyguard for Xuewu," Zhang ilan said, waving a hand dismissively. "He will pick her up on ti."

"Auntie Lan, you aren't actually going to let Xuewu marry that cripple Qin Long, are you?" Wang Ming asked, clenching his teeth in disappointnt.

"What are you talking about?" Zhang ilan explained with a troubled sigh. "It's just that I made a bet with Qin Long. I told him that if he managed to propose to Xuewu at the Sky Garden, I'd let her marry him and they could register their marriage. Now that he's done it, I have no reason to stop them. Otherwise, how could I ever show my face again?"

"Auntie Lan, this is absurd," Wang Ming said, slamming his hand on the table in a fury. "What does a verbal agreent matter? How could a cripple on a cane ever be worthy of Xuewu?"

"But who could have expected him to actually pull it off at the Sky Garden?" Zhang ilan paused, holding a grape, as she explained, "And he even gave Xuewu a million-dollar wedding ring. He's certainly capable."

Actually, her opinion of Qin Long was starting to change. The million-dollar wedding ring, the Audi, and the other expensive things he'd bought had subconsciously softened her dislike for him. She and Tang De had also spent so ti analyzing Xuewu's future. Whether they liked it or not, Tang Xuewu truly had a place for Qin Long in her heart. Besides, Qin Long had proven he had so capabilities now. Maybe they could try to accept him.

"Auntie Lan," Wang Ming said, sighing helplessly and putting on a worried expression as he took a sip of water. "Booking the Sky Garden just takes a little money. But do you really know anything about Qin Long's background? My cousin, Yang Xue, is the commander of Jiangzhong, and she knows a few things about him."

"What do you an by that, Young Master Wang?" Zhang ilan asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Auntie Lan, Qin Long is a veteran, isn't he?" Wang Ming whispered, looking around conspiratorially.

"Yes, everyone in the Tang Family knows that," Zhang ilan replied, putting down her grape to listen intently.

"My cousin told that during a mission, an enemy destroyed the tendons in his right leg. It also... well, he can no longer function as a man. That's why the nation gave him such a large disability pension. And do you know how much he spent to book the Sky Garden? A hundred million! Just like that. He spends money so lavishly; he'll burn through his savings in no ti. On top of that, he's not a complete man. He'd be denying Xuewu the right to beco a mother, wouldn't he?"

Wang Ming, using this fabricated story about Yang Xue, had Zhang ilan completely wrapped around his finger.

She'd never liked Qin Long anyway and still hoped Xuewu would marry Wang Ming. Besides, if Qin Long's money ran out, what then? It would be a disaster! Wang Ming's words sent Zhang ilan into deep contemplation.

"Auntie Lan, you know you can't get by in this day and age without money," Wang Ming pressed, his tone serious. "Even with a large pension, Qin Long will eventually burn through it all. Our Wang Family, on the other hand, is a top-tier family. We can guarantee Xuewu a lifeti of wealth and comfort. Qin Long just has a little bit of money and he's already showing off, just sitting back and enjoying it. He's going to squander everything sooner or later."

Wang Ming was right. Although Qin Long had so money, he had no inco, only expenses. Sooner or later, Xuewu would have to support him. The more she thought about it, the angrier she beca. So that was his plan all along! How shaless! Any sliver of a good impression she had developed of Qin Long vanished without a trace. This ti, she was determined to drive him away.

anwhile, Wang Ming was ecstatic. He had finally achieved his goal. Now that he had turned Zhang ilan against Qin Long again, he could gradually take over the Tang Family's business and the treasures left behind by Tang Rulan.

"Auntie Lan, Qin Long might have a bit of money now, but it's useless without a powerful background," Wang Ming continued, his expression mocking as if Qin Long were genuinely worthless. "He only knows a few minor figures in the governnt. Compared to the Wang Family, he's nothing. If you let Xuewu blindly marry him, it will be the biggest mistake you ever make."

"I lost the bet with him, so I can't interfere now," Zhang ilan said anxiously. "Besides, the Old Master has also changed his opinion of him."

"Don't worry about the Old Master, Auntie Lan, I'll handle him. And you don't have to worry about Qin Long. I have a thousand ways to get rid of him. In fact... perhaps he's already gone to the next world," Wang Ming sneered, his gaze turning sinister as he looked outside.

"Young Master Wang, don't do anything reckless!" Zhang ilan gasped, startled.

"Rest assured, I know what I'm doing..." Wang Ming laughed, about to explain further.

"So it was you, you reckless bastard."

Just then, the door was pushed open, and Qin Long slowly walked in.

Wang Ming's face fell instantly. He stared, completely stunned, as Qin Long fixed him with an ice-cold glare.

But he'd hired ruthless professionals! They'd sent him a ssage confirming they had intercepted Qin Long. The plan was for them to ambush him and cripple all four of his limbs. The tone of their ssage had been certain. Otherwise, why would he have co here to see Zhang ilan? According to the plan, Qin Long should have been crippled and dumped at the Tang Family's gate. But here he was, completely unscathed. Are they fucking with ?

Wang Ming struggled to hide his shock, standing frozen in place.

"Disappointed to see still alive, Young Master Wang?" Qin Long asked, his eyes glinting with amusent.

"How is this possible!" Wang Ming exclaid, rising to his feet in utter disbelief, at a loss for words.

"Over seventy n, and they thought they could teach a lesson?" Qin Long sneered, waving a dismissive hand.

At his words, Wang Ming's eyes widened. So they did intercept him. But how did he get away without a scratch? He must have paid them a fortune to spare his life. That has to be it.

"Co, co, Young Master Wang," Qin Long said, slowly approaching with his cane.

Wang Ming wasn't afraid. He didn't believe Qin Long would dare to attack him in the Tang Family's courtyard, not with Zhang ilan right there. He kept his expression calm.

"It seems you didn't take my warnings to heart," Qin Long said coolly.

Hearing this, Wang Ming's calm facade broke, and he looked annoyed.

Suddenly, Qin Long shot a hand out, grabbed Wang Ming by the neck, and lifted him clean off the ground. The imnse force left Wang Ming's legs kicking helplessly as he began to gasp for air.
