"Must you show off?"

"Brother Tao, last ti at the hotpot restaurant, not only did you destroy Jiang Tiantian's phone, but you also pissed off Yan Hong, the boss of Jiangzhong's underworld. If you hadn't kowtowed and begged for rcy, you would have been long dead by now. You damn near got us killed too."

"He's a lunatic. Just ignore him."

Bai He plastered a sycophantic smile on his face for Liu Mingtao.

"See? What did I tell you? Sothing's off with this kid."

"According to my analysis, he must have a screw loose up here," Liu Mingtao said, tapping his own head with a sneer.

"Yes, yes, exactly!" everyone roared with laughter.

"Liu Mingtao, Bai He, you've gone too far!" Jiang Tiantian snapped, her delicate brows knitting together.

"Alright! Waiter, bring the food!" Bai He shot Qin Long a look before smiling placatingly.

Although Tang Xuewu was displeased, she still hoped Liu Mingtao could help treat Qin Long's right leg. If that wasn't possible, perhaps he could at least recomnd soone who could. After all, she had already taken Qin Long to see countless specialists. Liu Mingtao had studied abroad for so ti. Who knows? Maybe they have so incredible new treatnt overseas. What if it could cure Qin Long?

Liu Mingtao sat in the host's seat.

After a mont of consideration, Tang Xuewu finally stated her purpose for coming. "Liu Mingtao, you've studied abroad for many years. Could you please take a look at Qin Long's leg injury?"

"Really, Xuewu? We just got here and you're already talking about dical conditions," Liu Mingtao said dismissively. "Today is for enjoying ourselves, not for consultations." He had no intention of dealing with Qin Long, let alone treating him.

"Fine. Ah Long, let's go. The rest of you can enjoy yourselves." Tang Xuewu imdiately stood up and helped Qin Long to his feet to leave.

"Hey, our great beauty Xuewu! If you, the number one beauty of Jiangzhong, leave, won't that make things awkward for the rest of us?" Bai He said, standing to block her way.

"That's right, beautiful Xuewu! Brother Tao only invited us to the Longquan Grand Hotel today because of you! If you leave and he gets upset, we'll all be left with nothing!"

"Besides," soone else chid in, "Brother Tao was our university's heartthrob, and he's always cared deeply for you. If it weren't for his secluded studies overseas, the two of you would have beco a legendary couple!"

They spoke bluntly, completely ignoring Qin Long as if he weren't even there.

"Xuewu, you've known for many years, so you know what I'm like," Liu Mingtao said, his gaze turning serious and full of affection. "I had the chance to stay overseas as an assistant to a great master, with an annual salary in the hundreds of millions. But the mont I thought of you, I turned it down. Otherwise, why would I have rejected such a luxurious lifestyle to return to this underdeveloped Grand Xia Nation?"

All it needed was a bouquet of roses to be a full-blown confession.

"Liu Mingtao, Qin Long is my fiancé. Please have so self-respect," Tang Xuewu said coolly, moving to stand beside Qin Long with an impatient expression.

"If you really don't have ti, then never mind. I can take Qin Long to see another master of traditional dicine..."

Just as Tang Xuewu was about to drop the matter, Liu Mingtao cut her off.

"Xuewu, since you've asked, I suppose I can make an exception and take a look," he said with a small cough, smiling at Tang Xuewu.

Qin Long looked at Tang Xuewu. He wanted to refuse, but he couldn't bring himself to hurt her after she had humbled herself for his sake. He couldn't bear it. "...Alright," he finally conceded.

Liu Mingtao slowly walked toward Qin Long. Tang Xuewu handed him Qin Long's previous dical records, and after briefly reviewing them, Liu Mingtao fell into deep thought.

"How is it?" Tang Xuewu asked tensely, her palms sweating. "Do you have any treatnts for this from your ti overseas?"

"Xuewu, I'm not trying to crush your hopes, but his condition is unique. I've examined it carefully, and it seems the neural pathways are damaged. It's an incurable condition." Liu Mingtao, who did possess so genuine knowledge, delivered his judgnt after a show of careful consideration.

Qin Long, however, remained calm and unfazed. This is exactly what I expected.

"What?" Tang Xuewu bit her lip, unable to believe it. This can't be true...

"Xuewu, his leg is ruined. Current dical science can't restore it. Pouring money into expensive treatnts would be useless. Even the most advanced dicines from overseas can't cure him, and with the dical standards in the Grand Xia Nation, it's completely impossible," Liu Mingtao said with an air of confidence, shaking his head with a sigh.

He deliberately spoke so harshly because he wanted Tang Xuewu to lose all hope and leave Qin Long.

At his words, Tang Xuewu froze, her body trembling uncontrollably. For three years, she had endured every hardship to care for Qin Long, massaging his leg daily. Every single day, she hoped he would recover—even if he could never stand again, she prayed he could at least live independently. But now, Liu Mingtao had shattered her last glimr of hope. In that mont, her world turned to ash, and an unbearable pain washed over her.

"Beautiful Xuewu, you're the number one beauty of Jiangzhong! Why are you clinging to a cripple like him?" Bai He said, feigning concern while sneering at Qin Long. "Life is short. Why waste it on soone like that?"

As the others chid in with their "advice," Tang Xuewu sank deeper into despair.

"Xuewu, my leg can be healed," Qin Long said softly, gently patting her back. "It just requires a specific dicinal herb. Don't listen to this foreign devil's nonsense."

"Fuck you!" Bai He snarled at Qin Long, gritting his teeth.

Liu Mingtao's expression darkened, and he raised a hand to stop Bai He.

"The people of the Grand Xia Nation are of such low quality. It's truly pathetic," Liu Mingtao said, his voice cold as he turned on Qin Long. "Kid, they call the 'Little Divine Doctor.' Countless prominent families are lining up for a consultation with , unable to even get an appointnt. How dare you speak to like that!"

"Haha! With a character like yours, your dical skills can't be any good," Qin Long shot back, showing him no deference. "You're just a pig with green onions in its nose, pretending to be an elephant!"

"That's hilarious!" Liu Mingtao was now completely enraged, his fists clenched as if he were about to strike. "My level of skill isn't for so dog like you to bark about! And who the hell do you think you are to question ?"

"I'm a nobody," Qin Long said, glancing at Liu Mingtao with a playful smirk. "But I happen to know that a certain soone's hands and feet are always cold, and he probably gets up to urinate at least seven or eight tis a night, right?"

His words struck Liu Mingtao dumb.

"You... you..." Liu Mingtao was stunned for a mont before waving his hand dismissively. "You're just spouting nonsense!"

Qin Long just smiled faintly and ignored him.

"I'm afraid Brother Tao has lost his vigor! What a pity!"

Qin Long's voice was soft, but each word stabbed into Liu Mingtao's heart like a dagger.

Liu Mingtao gritted his teeth, his face instantly turning deathly pale as he stared at Qin Long with trembling lips. Qin Long's diagnosis was completely correct. He had, in fact, been struggling with that particular issue lately and had been thinking about how to treat it.
