In Jiangzhong, they were figures who stood high above the rest, their status unparalleled and transcendent. They all trained hard here, bearing the safety of Jiangzhong on their shoulders. Without them, Jiangzhong would never be so peaceful. As long as they were present, no one dared to act too rashly.

And Yang Xue, as the commander of the Jiangzhong military camp, held a position of imnse authority.

Yang Xue had just lit a slim cigarette and was reclining on a plush chair, lost in thought. Just then, her phone began to ring urgently.

When Yang Xue saw the caller ID, she shot to her feet, her expression becoming one of utmost respect.

"Yang Xue, how is the matter progressing?" a deep voice ca through from the other end.

"Wang Ming said he bought it from an old scrap collector. It was about three years ago; his mory is a bit hazy." Yang Xue held nothing back, recounting the events.

"And what are your thoughts on this?" the deep voice asked again.

"Capital Commandant, Wang Ming absolutely would not dare to lie to ," Yang Xue replied after a mont of consideration.

The person on the other end fell silent, contemplating.

"Capital Commandant, who did that sword belong to?" Yang Xue mustered the courage to ask.

"I’m not entirely sure," the voice replied, a hint of helplessness in his tone. "I’ve never had any contact with such a monuntal figure."

He was, after all, the Capital Commandant, a man of high status. Even Yang Xue, the commander of the Jiangzhong military camp, was under his jurisdiction. However, he had not reached that certain echelon, so it was perfectly normal for him not to recognize so weapons.

"I only suspect that this item is connected to a godlike figure who once appeared. Do you know about the turmoil in the Southern Region three years ago?"

At these words, Yang Xue imdiately sat bolt upright, her brow furrowed. She had been an admirer of the War God since she was young and had always dread of being a soldier. Three years ago, the Southern Region’s army had achieved a great victory, reclaiming thousands of miles of territory in just three months. That battle had routed the enemy forces, forcing them to flee back to their own country in disgrace. It had been a war that showcased the Grand Xia Nation’s unmatched might—a battle that shook the heavens and moved the spirits.

However, the seemingly invincible Heavenly Dragon Army had apparently suffered from internal strife. They turned on one another, even refusing to carry out the Grand Xia Emperor’s orders. Yang Xue had no idea what had actually transpired back then. No one ever dared to speak of it.

"Capital Commandant, why do you suddenly bring this up?" Yang Xue asked, her face a mask of confusion. "Could this sword have co from there?"

"Back then, the commander of the Southern Region’s forces, Heavenly Dragon, who was also the Grand Xia’s War Dragon, vanished overnight. The Heavenly Dragon Army is now temporarily under the command of acting commander Qiu Hu, but the appointnt of a new Dragon Commander has never been approved."

Hearing this, Yang Xue was plunged into thought. Finally, she asked hesitantly, "Capital Commandant, could it be that you are an old friend of the forr Dragon Commander..."

After speaking, Yang Xue suddenly realized her mistake. How could I so openly inquire about such a secretive matter? This is a great taboo!

As if on cue, an angry shout ca from the other side of the line. "Yang Xue, watch what you say. Disaster stems from careless words."

Hearing this, Yang Xue imdiately lowered her head, acknowledging her error.

"Alright," the voice on the other end said. "Keep that sword safe for . I will contact you as soon as I have news."

With a sharp CLICK, the line went dead.

「The Tang Family’s Courtyard」

"Mom, co and get the fish soup!" Tang Xuewu called out to Zhang ilan.

"Coming!" Zhang ilan had just seen off the last of their relatives and was heading toward the kitchen when her third sister, Zhang iyan, arrived with her family at the door.

"Oh, Sister Lan, we brought so specialties from our hotown for you!"

"Alright, we’ll be sure to treat you to a al next ti! It’s getting a bit late today," Zhang ilan said with a beaming smile as she saw her third sister off.

Ever since their relatives had seen the Fish Dragon King Villa, they had all co to their door bearing all sorts of gifts. The living room was now piled high with them. Their sudden warmth and affection had reawakened a sense of kinship in Zhang ilan that she hadn’t felt for a long ti. They couldn’t have been more cordial.

After all these years, when have these relatives ever treated our family like this? You couldn’t make this stuff up, even in a novel! It’s true what they say: a poor man in a busy city goes unvisited, while a rich man in the deep mountains attracts relatives from afar. When they found out we were being ostracized, every single one of them sneered at us. Now that they see we have money, these relatives are shalessly flocking to our door. What a joke.

Qin Long clearly possessed such imnse wealth; it was certain he would marry Tang Xuewu. The Zhang family naturally didn’t dare to look down on him anymore.

Even Zhang ilan looked at Qin Long with a conflicted expression. In the end, she simply lowered her head and said nothing.

"ilan, wasn’t today satisfying?" Tang De asked, sipping his liquor and deliberately teasing her.

"What if it was? What in the world does that have to do with you, Tang De?" Zhang ilan shot back, giving him a piece of her mind.

"I may not have the ability, but our outstanding son-in-law is more than capable, isn’t he?" Tang De replied without a trace of fear, grinning at Qin Long.

"Dad! Stop talking nonsense!" Tang Xuewu’s face flushed with embarrassnt as she stamred, "We haven’t had a wedding or registered yet!"

Hearing this, Qin Long rely sipped his soup in silence. Zhang ilan shot a helpless glare at Tang De. In the past, she would have slamd the table, but she wasn’t angry today. After all, she had finally been able to hold her head high in front of her siblings, so she wasn’t going to let this bother her.

"Xuewu, what do you think?" Tang De, slightly tipsy, turned to look at Qin Long and his daughter. "If you two like each other, you should just find a ti to go to the civil affairs bureau and register."

At his words, Tang Xuewu and Qin Long were both startled.

"Tang De, you shut your mouth!" Zhang ilan suddenly smacked him.

"What’s wrong with how I’m speaking?" Tang De retorted, putting down his glass and glaring at her. "Qin Long has lived with us for three years. To be blunt, Xuewu already sees him as family. As long as our daughter likes him, I’ll support them with both hands. If they want to get married, they should do it soon..."

"Oh, so my opinion doesn’t matter anymore, Tang De!" Zhang ilan slamd her hand on the table furiously.

"He bought you jewelry! He bought you an Audi! You wanted a bigger villa, and he bought you a mansion worth over twenty million! ilan, you can’t be so unreasonable!" For the first ti in a long while, Tang De lectured Zhang ilan, though he was clearly bolstered by liquid courage.

"It takes more than a little money to get by in this world!" Zhang ilan retorted, fuming. "Besides, Qin Long and I have a bet! As long as Qin Long can propose to Xuewu in the Sky Garden, I won’t stand in the way of their romance, and I will even support their marriage registration with both hands!"

In her anger, Zhang ilan blurted out the bet she had made with Qin Long.

Even if Qin Long has a bit of money now, he’s nothing compared to Young Master Wang Ming of the Jiangzhong Wang Family. At best, Qin Long is just a small-ti business owner.
