Chen Xianyu laughed heartily and said, “I have been waiting for those very words from the Great Elder. This is the most touching thing I’ve heard in three years. Chen Huai, why are you still dawdling? Hurry up and prepare a grand feast; I want to have a good drink with the Great Elder.”
Qi Tian quickly replied, “Master, please don’t think impatient, but with such an opportunity at hand, how can I be in the mood to drink? Let’s get the elixir as soon as possible. After that, I won’t have any problem even if I accompany you in drinking for three days and nights.”
Chen Xianyu nodded and laughed, “Yes, I can understand the Great Elder’s anxiety. Since you are so eager and unwilling to wait, let’s set off right now. I will take you to retrieve the elixir.”
True to his word, Chen Xianyu, along with Chen Huai and Qi Tian, checked out of their accommodations and then left Wanjie City.
The three of them first used the Teleportation Array of Wanjie City to teleport out, arriving in a small town called Qishan Town. As they stepped out of the Teleportation Array, Chen Xianyu’s complexion appeared very unwell; his body involuntarily staggered. Had Chen Huai not reacted quickly to support Chen Xianyu, he might have fallen to the ground.
Chen Xianyu pushed Chen Huai away, turned his head to Qi Tian with a wry smile, and said, “The Great Elder must find this quite amusing. My body is really not suited for using the Teleportation Array.”
“The Ancestor was like this when teleporting from Sui’an City to Wanjie City. He should be resting now, but for the sake of our Chen family, he still ventures out while ill. I really owe it to him,” Chen Huai said, his eyes reddening, on the verge of tears.
“It’s been tough on the Master.”
Qi Tian responded coolly, his sympathy evident for Chen Xianyu’s condition, but that was as far as it went. It did not move him to more sympathy or concessions. Chen Xianyu needed sothing from him, so whether sick or in need of rest, he had to show sincerity; everything else was no excuse. If illness could be used as an excuse for everything, wouldn’t all matters in the world be easily settled?
Chen Xianyu rebuked harshly, “Hold back those worthless tears of yours, you’ve made the Great Elder witness a joke, suggesting that the n of the Chen family are no better than won. Great Elder, please don’t mind it, Chen Huai has too little experience, hence his behavior. My health is not a big concern; I just need to sit sowhere and rest for a while.”
Qi Tian nodded and said, “If the Master wishes to rest, naturally that’s no issue. I’m not familiar with this place at all, so please make the arrangents, Master.”
Chen Xianyu casually pointed forward and said, “There’s a tea house just ahead. Let’s go there and sit down, have so tea, and rest our feet. I’ll take a brief rest, and then we can continue on our journey.”
The three of them arrived at the tea house Chen Xianyu ntioned; it was a simple tea house built along the roadside without even a proper shelter, just a few tables placed around and several scattered chairs.
