Chapter 1411: Chapter 0800: Patrol Team Chapter 1411: Chapter 0800: Patrol Team Chapter 0800: The Patrol Team

Gao Jini eventually had no choice but to cease her epiphany, acknowledging that so things cannot be forced. If they were ant to be relinquished, then so be it. She believed that as long as she kept following Qi Tian, she would one day obtain what she desired without any rush. Gao Jini had a very clear understanding of herself; her talent was evident, and if she could advance to the Nascent Soul Stage in her lifeti, it would be an incredibly fortunate stroke of serendipity. She would be utterly satisfied and not yearn for anything else.

Qi Tian did not take the initiative to explain or lecture Gao Jini because so things one must comprehend on their own—no amount of others’ words would suffice. What Qi Tian could offer was the opportunity for Gao Jini to consistently be on the front lines, whether in terms of learning or combat. What she could gain from those experiences depended on her. As for other cultivation resources, Qi Tian was certainly not stingy; the issue now was that no matter how many resources he gave Gao Jini, she was unable to breakthrough.

Gao Jini inquired if Qi Tian wanted to continue their journey. They had been delayed for a few days because of her, and she felt sowhat embarrassed.

Qi Tian waved his hand dismissively. This ti returning to Wanjie City, he had not imposed any deadline on himself; it was entirely up to fate whether they arrived in half a month or three to five months.

Just as the two were about to depart, they suddenly saw a team of cultivators sword-flying high in the sky, heading straight toward them.

Ever since leaving the Great Zhao Nation, Qi Tian and Gao Jini had nearly been traveling every day. Today, however, was the first day they encountered other cultivators traveling in the sa fashion. This sparked a flicker of curiosity in Qi Tian’s heart.

The cultivators in flight were not overly hurried, but soon they arrived above the small lake and noticed Qi Tian and Gao Jini by the lakeside. The man flying at the forefront raised his hand and brought his flying sword to a halt, as did the cultivators following him. They all looked towards Qi Tian and Gao Jini.

The leader’s gaze lingered on Qi Tian’s face for less than a second before shifting to Gao Jini. Apparently recognizing her, he greeted her with a cupped fist salute, asking, “Sir, is your surna Gao, given na composed of the characters for ‘gold’ and ‘plum’?”

Qi Tian transmitted his voice directly to Gao Jini, leaving the interaction with the cultivator to her.

Gao Jini returned the salute and said, “Indeed, it is I. May I know who you are? I don’t believe we’ve t before?”

The man laughed heartily, maneuvering his flying sword to descend from the sky as the others landed beside the lake with him. He said, “We haven’t t, but when I ntion soone’s na, you will know who I am.”

Subsequently, the man communicated with Gao Jini using a Sound Transmission Skill, and though it was unclear whom he ntioned, Gao Jini gave the man a profound glance and nodded.

The man said, “Sir, you haven’t retired yet, have you? Would you be interested in taking on another task? If you can complete it, the benefits are self-evident.”

Without hesitation, Gao Jini replied, “Although I haven’t retired, if it’s rely for cultivation resources, I will not kill anymore.”

The man quickly clarified, “Sir, please don’t misunderstand; this mission is different from the last. It’s not about killing anyone but about escorting. Can you see? I have already hired so many individuals, yet I still don’t feel it’s safe enough. My friends here lack experience in certain areas. What we need is soone experienced like yourself. If you join us, the chances of ensuring safety will significantly increase. Would you be willing to accept this invitation?”

Qi Tian sent a ssage to Gao Jini, urging her to accept the offer.

Although Gao Jini did not understand why Qi Tian was interested in getting involved, she was willing to comply with his request. She nodded and said, “No problem. However, I have one condition. It won’t be just you hire; you must also take my companion with us. We will work together to protect you, and you must treat us equally regarding compensation; whatever you give , my companion must receive as well.”

The man glanced at Qi Tian and finally noticed that Qi Tian was also a Gold Core Realm cultivator. He nodded imdiately and said, “No problem, we would be honored to have both of you protect .”

Both parties were content with the agreent, and just like that, Qi Tian and Gao Lii joined the protection team for the cultivator they had never t before.

Qi Tian and Gao Jini didn’t crowd around the man, nor did they fly at the tail end of the group, but instead, they took positions in the middle. As they flew, they communicated with the Sound Transmission Skill. Gao Jini told Qi Tian that when she had been an assassin, she once took on a mission to help the man who had just contracted them, in assassinating a rival to his family. The mission was a great success, which led to a bit of a rapport between them.

As for how the man recognized Gao Jini, it was likely because the person who introduced her to the job and the one hiring them now shared a close relationship, and perhaps he had leaked Gao Jini’s appearance.
