Ch.8 Can’t Fight It? Then I’ll Avoid It!
“S-sorry, Young Master, I ssed up again…”
Luo Nan looked at maid Aina sprawled on the floor, limbs splayed—it had to be admitted, the pose was sowhat indecent.
Beneath her fluttering maid skirt were rosy-white, suspender-clad white stockings; the girl’s rounded thighs were spread wide toward Luo Nan, with snow-lotus patterns embroidered along the white lace trim reaching her upper thighs.
And if one looked deeper…
Hmph, light green, cotton—quite innocent.
Just as Luo Nan was about to scold or physically punish Aina according to his previous habits, he suddenly froze.
“No—after inheriting my previous life’s mories, I am no longer the ‘’ I once was.”
“Aina’s mistake occurred entirely because I failed to consider her physical exhaustion. Making a non-supernatural maid carry books for so long inevitably leads to problems.”
Thinking this, Luo Nan quickly stepped forward, crouched beside Aina, placed a hand on her back, and asked with concern: “Aina, are you alright?”
Feeling Luo Nan’s large hand on her spine, Aina’s delicate body trembled. “N-no, I’m fine. Sorry, Young Master—I’m so incompetent!”
Will… the Young Master punish , this clumsy maid?
“No, I should be the one apologizing. I didn’t think things through—I made you shoulder work beyond your capacity alone. I should have found more people to assist you.”
Luo Nan’s gaze swept over Aina’s body, carefully observing—fortunately, he found no bruises or contusions.
“Did you get hurt from the fall? Is anything hurting?”
Huh?
Is the Young Master… concerned about ?
Hearing Luo Nan’s concern and apology, the little maid’s brain montarily failed to process it.
Didn’t the other senior maids say the Young Master was a scoundrel who enjoyed ‘punishing’ maids?
She clearly ssed up the Young Master’s task, yet instead of punishnt, she received concern—and even an apology?
Could it be…
“Aina, snap out of it—did you hit your head?”
Seeing the maid in his arms spacing out again, her large erald eyes staring fixedly at him, Luo Nan couldn’t help but grow worried.
If she really suffered brain damage, it would be his fault.
“Ah! N-no, no, I’m not injured.”
Pulled back to reality from her daydreaming, the little maid tremulously replied in her soft, sweet voice.
“Good, then get up.”
Having said that, Luo Nan slid his right hand under Aina’s armpit, exerted force with both arm and leg, and lifted the girl—light as a little rabbit—into his arms.
After confirming Aina could stand steadily, Luo Nan withdrew his right hand. “Go rest first—I’ll find soone else to help .”
He scanned the books scattered on the floor one by one, seemingly searching for sothing.
“I’m fine!”
Little maid Aina suddenly raised her voice, startling Luo Nan.
“What?” He turned his head and asked.
“I… I can still serve the Young Master. There’s no need to find anyone else.”
For so reason, when she heard Luo Nan say, “I’ll find soone else to help,” Aina’s heart clenched tightly, as if ti itself had slowed by half a beat.
Was she… being disliked by the Young Master?
She didn’t know why she had uttered those words of bravado—she clearly was already at her limit.
“But you…”
“I can do it!”
“I really can do it!”
“Fine then,” Luo Nan stopped insisting on replacing her. “Rest for a bit, then continue the task I just assigned you.”
Luo Nan bent down, picked up the several large tos scattered on the floor, tucked them under his arm, and turned to walk back to his desk.
…
“Huff… Y-young Master, all the books you requested are here.”
After several round trips, the petite and delicate maid Aina finally placed all the books Luo Nan had requested onto his desk.
Bathed in lamplight, her jade-like skin was now dotted with glistening beads of sweat; the white stockings on her legs were thoroughly soaked, her cherry lips slightly parted, her budding bosom rising and falling rapidly.
“Mm, good work. Go rest now.”
Luo Nan replied absently without even lifting his head, remaining imrsed in his information search.
“Let
see—this one is ‘Travelogue of the Demon Realm.’”
“Page 546—found it!”
Luo Nan flipped the thick, ancient-looking to to the corresponding page and ran his finger line by line over the tiny, tadpole-like characters.
“Chrono Phantom Demon—long-lived high-ranking demon species, extrely rare in number, skilled in illusion and control-type abilities; a very few possess ti-related talents.”
Luo Nan read every word of the introduction concerning this demon subspecies, ‘Chrono Phantom Demon’, and his brows gradually furrowed together.
“Indeed—as described in ‘The Shining Myriad Trails’ she remains just as troubleso, just as flawless.”
“Moreover, the description in ‘Travelogue of the Demon Realm’ is even more detailed.”
Luo Nan closed the book, leaned back, and reclined in his custom-made, luxurious ergonomic chair, his eyes slightly lifeless.
He didn’t know how to find a breakthrough under these circumstances.
Carefully calculating the dates, as a freshman at Radiant University, he would be enrolling in just over half a month. In the original plot, his ‘conspiracy with demons’ occurred before enrollnt.
In other words, he was already in a hair-trigger situation!
“Long-lived species, Chrono Phantom Demon, illusion, control, ti…” Luo Nan softly repeated her relevant intelligence.
“Human, Duke’s son, non-supernatural…” He then listed his current identity and capabilities.
Comparing the two, Luo Nan reached his final conclusion—
Confird—he had absolutely no chance of defeating her!
A mid-to-late ga boss-level villainess, forcibly pulled into the early plot by the developers solely to facilitate his ‘conspiracy with demons’ charge—Luo Nan just wanted to curse.
Probably to boost sales, they dragged this highly popular female villain out early for a stroll. As for Luo Nan…
Hmph, just a villain occupying the joker’s ecological niche—no one cared.
“Toward this kind of malice from the world, I’ve always preferred to avoid it.”
“Since I can’t fight it, I’ll just avoid it.”
“I rember—in the original plot, the location where I conspired with demons was…”
Bang—
After ntally confirming his plan to avoid ‘conspiring with demons’, Luo Nan suddenly slamd his palm on the desk and stood up abruptly.
“I am the ‘Foreseer’! Since I know the subsequent plot developnts and have ample preparation ti, I definitely won’t repeat past mistakes.”
“Based on the detailed materials I’ve found, the preliminary solution I’ve formulated should have a considerable success rate.”
“Huh!? Y-young Master, what’s wrong?”
Awakened by Luo Nan’s sudden movent, maid Aina wiped the glistening drool from the corner of her mouth. Realizing her lapse in etiquette, her small face instantly flushed red, and she quickly stood up straight.
Damn, damn—it was disastrous! She had actually fallen asleep while serving the Young Master!
“Hmm? Aina? You didn’t go back to rest?”
Only now did Luo Nan realize the maid Aina was still inside the library—she had been leaning against the outer side of the circular desk and only stood up from his blind spot in front of the desk after he slamd the table.
“Never mind. Since you’re still here, then… accompany
to sleep.”
Luo Nan glanced at the clock in the library and noticed it was already dawn. Calculating backward, he realized he hadn’t slept for an entire day.
After awakening his mories, he had been handling the ‘banquet false accusation and assassination incident’, then searching for a solution to avoid ‘conspiring with demons’—his mind had been under high tension, and he hadn’t even noticed how exhausted his body had beco.
Fortunately, he now had a preliminary idea and plan for resolving future problems, allowing his mind to relax slightly.
Thinking this, Luo Nan’s eyelids instantly began to tremble. He slowly walked out of the library and headed toward his bedroom.
“Yes, Young Master!”
…
The setting sun sank westward, casting blood-red twilight through the ornate golden windows, projecting dappled shadows across Luo Nan’s face.
“No wonder noble bedrooms are luxurious—even the mattress feels so silky and soft to the touch.”
Gradually regaining consciousness but still in a dazed state, Luo Nan moved his right hand and gently squeezed the soft, smooth mattress.
“Mmm…”
“Hmm?”
“Mmm… ha…”
What sound was that?
Luo Nan clenched his right hand again, gripping the soft, smooth mattress.
This feeling…
“Ah! Y-young Master.”
This voice sounded familiar.
Luo Nan opened his eyes. Outside the window, the setting sun was casting its final rays of warmth upon the earth. He instinctively squinted.
Monts later, Luo Nan clearly perceived his current situation.
It was his own room, as rembered.
And that earlier sound wasn’t an auditory hallucination.
Luo Nan’s gaze lowered and t the pair of erald eyes curled up in the crook of his right arm.
“Aina? Why are you in my bed?”
Still groggy from sleep, Luo Nan asked in confusion.
“Young Master… didn’t you ask
to… accompany you to bed?”
Her voice, soft as a mosquito’s buzz, reconnected Luo Nan’s mories. Only then did he recall—after returning to his bedroom at dawn, he had been so exhausted that even changing clothes required Aina’s assistance.
After changing, Luo Nan’s eyelids could no longer stay open—his head had barely touched the pillow before his thoughts scattered.
He seed to rember—at that mont, Aina had asked: “Young Master, would you like
to accompany you to bed?”
Luo Nan couldn’t recall whether he had agreed or refused—but judging from the current situation…
He must have agreed.
“Seems that’s how it was. Uh, Aina… while accompanying
to bed, did you do anything?”
Luo Nan withdrew his right hand from Aina’s pert buttocks, propped up his bare upper torso. Bathed in the sunset’s glow, his sculpted muscles resembled the masterpiece of a master sculptor—broad shoulders, powerful back, narrow waist, with clearly defined biceps and triceps beneath his long arms.
‘Though I can’t cultivate, my body—soaked since childhood in various heavenly treasures—has already approached perfection within the range of ordinary humans.’
“Young Master, we… just slept.”
While Luo Nan admired his own physique, the little maid gave her answer.
Aina didn’t know what to think now. The experience-sharing from her senior maids and the knowledge in the ‘Maiden’s Glory Handbook’ had both told her—accompanying to bed wasn’t supposed to be like this.
When she prepared to put her theoretical knowledge into practice, she discovered the Young Master had already sunk into deep slumber—and sohow, she had been pulled into his strong arm’s embrace.
Thus, terrified of disturbing the Young Master, the little maid had lain rigidly atop Luo Nan for an entire day.
Right now, she needed to use the restroom!
“Young Master… I, I want to…”
“You want to what?”
“Want to go…”
Aina seed too embarrassed to voice her need. With a ‘bang’, she leapt out of bed, not even bothering to smooth her wrinkled maid uniform, and fled from Luo Nan’s room amid repeated murmurs of ‘Sorry’.
“Weird.”
