"Causality?" Chu Mo furrowed his brows slightly.
The old monk turned to him and smiled faintly, "There's not just one incident. By coming here, you've directly triggered a huge causal connection, but don't worry, this old monk still has the strength to assist you!"
Chu Mo looked at the old monk with so skepticism and couldn't help asking, "I don't yet know the master's dharma na, and besides… I share no kinship or obligation with the master. Why would you help so? Could it be that the master wishes to convert to Buddhism?"
The old monk laughed without saying a word, "Although Buddhism speaks of universally saving all beings, there is another saying you might not have heard, 'Buddha saves those with fate.' If there is no fate, why force it? This old monk has no dharma na. Titles are but illusory appellations. I am not bound by them, nor do I require a title."
The old monk did not tell Chu Mo why he wanted to help him, and Chu Mo did not continue to inquire. Because he could sense that the old monk truly bore him no ill will.
"By the way, master, is there a female practitioner nad Tonghui here?" Chu Mo suddenly rembered the old cultivator's entrustnt and asked.
The old monk thought for a mont and nodded, "There is indeed such a woman who practices with her hair still intact. She once sought to join my sect, but I saw her worldly ties were not yet severed, so I refused her. She has since continued her cultivation with her hair, remaining in this place. Why? Have her worldly ties finally co seeking her?"
Chu Mo nodded and recounted the old cultivator's story. The old monk let out a soft sigh, nodded, and said, "I have already inford her of this matter. As for how she will choose, that will be up to her."
"Is this what 'Buddha saves those with fate' is?" Chu Mo couldn't help but mutter under his breath upon realizing how straightforward the old monk's actions were.
The old monk smiled, "There is a saying in the world, 'It's better to demolish ten temples than to destroy one marriage.' The ties of marriage are a result of countless lifetis of accumulated fate before it can transform into a marriage in this lifeti. I am not so pedantic. If I can contribute to a joyous union, why not do so?"
"This old monk, you're really not like what I had imagined," Chu Mo admitted with genuine conviction.
Everything about the old monk indeed subverted his previous understanding of the entire Buddhist community. He knew that the old monk before him was a truly genuine and authentic figure, the current patriarch of the whole Buddhist community!
But this old monk exhibited not a trace of arrogance associated with such figures. He was like a truly knowledgeable elder who, in just a few words, could thoroughly convince others.
The old monk chuckled, "Fear cos from the unknown, and so do misunderstandings."
Chu Mo nodded, thinking it was indeed so.
The old monk wasn't walking fast, but neither was he slow, leading Chu Mo quickly to an ancient and sowhat dilapidated great hall. At the entrance of that hall stood a young man in green robes, hands behind his back, looking at the old plaque hanging above the hall.
When the old monk and Chu Mo arrived, the young man did not turn his head but said indifferently, "I heard that the Buddhist sect was once a glorious and flourishing great sect. It's sad and lantable to see what it has co to now!"
The old monk chuckled, "Hehe."
The young man suddenly turned around, looking down with a face full of arrogance, "What, do you disagree with my statent?"
The old monk shook his head, "The benefactor's understanding of the Buddhist sect is greatly mistaken. I don't even know where to start to agree or disagree."
"Old bald donkey, stop spouting mystic nonsense. Do you think I'm unaware that your Buddhist sect was driven out from Beyond Heaven?" The young man's eyes showed disdain as he spoke lightly, "I've co here today not to trouble your decaying house, but to find him!"
With that, the young man pointed a finger at Chu Mo.
A golden light shot out from the young man's fingertip, and in the blink of an eye, it ford a chain that seed to be condensed from order itself, directly hurtling towards Chu Mo!
Chu Mo didn't recognize this young man but felt a very familiar aura from him—an aura that imdiately reminded him of soone. A mortal enemy! Chu Mo's complexion turned incredibly ugly on the spot. He nearly couldn't restrain himself from summoning his perfect clone to fight to the death.
At this mont, the old monk stood with a single palm raised before his chest, "Amitabha!"
A gentle force instantly blocked in front of Chu Mo.
Bang!
The chain that seed to be condensed from order hit the gentle force, emitting a sound like a firecracker.
It might not have seed very powerful.
However, the old monk spat out a mouthful of fresh blood with a "wah" sound.
Boom!
At that mont, from all directions, countless streams of golden light suddenly illuminated the area, and images of Buddhas, vague and shimring, instantly appeared all around. These huge golden statues of Buddhas were all instilled with a boundless, vast power, pressing down in unison towards the young man.
Enraged, the young man yelled furiously, "Old bald donkey, you dare to suppress this supre being with the Buddhist path? Do you take for a common Emperor? You're courting death!"
The old monk's face was as pale as golden parchnt, but his expression remained unchanged as he spoke calmly, "Although you've transcended the Emperor Realm, you are nothing more than a re divine consciousness. Moreover, there is sothing you may not be aware of—this is a Buddhist sanctuary. It matters not if one is an Emperor; even a true supre being would be suppressed here. Of course, there are more legends, but this old monk shall not indulge you with them, for you have been taken by demons and are no longer worthy to hear them."
"Old bald donkey… you're seeking death!" The clothes on the young man's body shattered instantly into countless green runes, which whirled madly around him. Each rune bore the power of trendous and boundless might!
Chu Mo was witnessing such a battle for the first ti. Even the battles between Emperors he had seen before paled in comparison to this spectacle, which was so arcane that it was completely beyond comprehension!
The young man's body beca enveloped in the green runes, and from within them ca his wild laughter, "The Buddhist path? It's nothing special!"
At that mont, one of the golden Buddhas, which Chu Mo could see very clearly, had a face contorted in a ferocious and terrifying expression, as though it were glaring angrily at soone, its mouth open in a roar. A golden palm stretched out, ferociously smacking down towards the youth wrapped in green runes.
Thud!
The runes on the young man started to explode and shatter endlessly!
Following that, the young man's body beca visible.
He let out a cry of shock, "How is this possible? How could a re Buddhist... possibly suppress this supre being?"
Snap!
His body was directly grasped by the golden Buddha hand and then that hand… squeezed tightly.
The young man let out a roar of despair as he was instantly reduced to ash!
Then, the sky full of golden light dissipated, and all the Buddhas vanished.
Chu Mo looked again at the ancient and sowhat dilapidated great hall before him, finding not a single tile had fallen.
The shock in his heart was beyond anything he could further comprehend; if he had not witnessed everything with his own eyes, he would have never believed such a thing to be true!
He recognized the identity of the young man in green; it was the Ancestor Blood Demon!
Even if it was but a single strand of divine consciousness, it was the divine consciousness of a Quasi-Supre!
Projected into the Immortal Realm's Buddhist sanctuary, to be so effortlessly crushed into nothingness, without even a sliver of resistance!
This Buddhist sect… could it truly be the ragtag outsider from Beyond Heaven that Blood Demon Ancestor spoke of?
Wait a minute… from Beyond Heaven?
Chu Mo gazed sowhat distractedly at the old monk whose complexion was still a golden hue, "Are you alright?"
