When Chang Hao first found out that Zhou Yuwen and Zheng Yanyan were together, he was indeed angry, feeling as though Zhou Yuwen had betrayed him. He believed that Zhou Yuwen, a small-town youth, wasn’t worthy of soone like Zheng Yanyan. Even ten minutes ago, he still harbored such thoughts. But after hearing the way Zheng Yanyan spoke to Zhou Yuwen, Chang Hao felt a deep sense of powerlessness. Zheng Yanyan had never spoken to him in such a tone. At that mont, despite his reluctance, Chang Hao had to face the reality: Zhou Yuwen was indeed tall, handso, and already driving a convertible at such a young age. If he were a girl, he’d be tempted too.

There wasn’t much else Chang Hao could say, so he simply offered a piece of advice.

This left Zhou Yuwen unsure of how to respond.

Just then, Li Qiang, who was lying on his bed near the balcony, couldn’t resist tapping on the balcony’s glass.

Both Zhou Yuwen and Chang Hao curiously looked at Li Qiang, who tilted his head and grinned, "Hao, why does it matter to you how Zhou treats his girlfriend?"

"Shut up! What’s wrong with you, eavesdropping like that?"

"Hey, you were talking so loud I couldn’t help but overhear!"

Taking advantage of the distraction of arguing with Li Qiang, Chang Hao stepped away from the balcony, while Zhou Yuwen finished hanging up the laundry.

Zhou Yuwen checked his phone and saw a couple of ssages from Manager Zhao from the labor company.

"Brother! Everything’s settled! (Handshake emoji)"

Transfer: 200 yuan

"Brother, let’s stay in touch for things like this. 200 yuan isn’t much, but consider it a little treat. (Handshake emoji)"

While Zhou Yuwen wasn’t short on money, he decided to accept the 200 yuan and imdiately transferred it to Liu Shuo, telling him to use it to hire a car for their first part-ti job tomorrow.

"Got it! (Grin emoji)"

Manager Zhao then asked, "Brother, does your student association have any female students with good grades?"

"It’s like this, I’ve got so high-end clients, all living in villas, who are looking for university students to tutor their kids."

"I was wondering if you, being from the Xianlin University Town Federation, might know so students from Nanjing University of Science and Technology?"

"Don’t worry about the pay; these wealthy clients don’t mind spending. The minimum is 100 yuan per hour, and we can negotiate further." Manager Zhao could have found these tutors on his own, but it would have taken ti and effort. Since Zhou Yuwen was involved with the student association, it seed like an easier option.

As Manager Zhao explained the details, Zhou Yuwen’s first thought was of Li Shiqi. They had planned to watch a movie together when they were selling campus cards, but due to the military training lockdown, they never got the chance. After that, they lost touch because Li Shiqi wasn’t the type to keep pursuing soone actively, and Zhou Yuwen wasn’t the type to chase after people either.

Thinking that Li Shiqi might need the money, Zhou Yuwen told Manager Zhao, "Sure, I’ll get in touch with her for you. How many people do you need?"

"Uh, just one for now—a middle school girl from one of my clients."

"Got it."

The matter wasn’t fully settled when Zheng Yanyan called Zhou Yuwen via a voice chat. It was almost midnight, and when Zhou Yuwen answered, he couldn’t help but complain, "It’s late; isn’t anyone else in your dorm? Why are you calling?"

Hearing Zhou Yuwen’s voice, Zheng Yanyan giggled, "I’m in the hallway!"

Zhou Yuwen scolded, "It’s the middle of the night, and you’re wandering around? Go to bed!"

"I can’t help it; soone bullied , and I’m upset."

"Who would dare bully you?"

"You did! It still hurts, you know!" Zheng Yanyan said, sounding pitiful.

"How could it? I didn’t even use any force," Zhou Yuwen replied, glancing into the dorm and lowering his voice.

Zheng Yanyan, speaking just as quietly, called Zhou Yuwen a jerk, saying he was too eager, as if he just wanted to sleep with her.

Zhou Yuwen chuckled, "Co on, babe, what’s the point of dating if we don’t sleep together?"

"You can’t just jump straight to sleeping together!" Despite her bold personality, Zheng Yanyan wasn’t as forward as Zhou Yuwen in her words. His bluntness upset her because it seed like all he wanted from the relationship was sex. She warned him that she wasn’t the type of girl who’d sleep with soone casually and that she was serious about their relationship.

Zhou Yuwen could only remain silent.

Seeing his lack of response, Zheng Yanyan grew nervous. Normally, this would be the ti to say, "Zhou Yuwen, if that’s your attitude, we shouldn’t be dating. Clearly, you just want to sleep with ." But she was afraid that if she said this, Zhou Yuwen might actually reply, "Okay, then let’s not date." And knowing his personality, he might actually say that.

So Zheng Yanyan didn’t dare to push it.

Normally a proud girl, Zheng Yanyan found herself feeling insecure since dating Zhou Yuwen. Her earlier remark about "not jumping straight to sleeping together" was actually a roundabout way of consenting to it.

Zhou Yuwen, realizing he might have been too hasty, leaned against the railing and sighed, "You’re right; I was too eager. I don’t know what got into —maybe you’re just too irresistible?"

This sweet talk made Zheng Yanyan’s heart flutter, and she responded with a playful hum, "Of course, I’m irresistible!"

"Did I scare you earlier?" Zhou Yuwen’s sudden tenderness brought tears to Zheng Yanyan’s eyes. It wasn’t the roughness of his actions that upset her but the fact that he hadn’t tried to comfort her afterward.

"I thought you might leave

because I didn’t give in," she confessed, her voice trembling with emotion.

Zhou Yuwen’s words had soothed her worries, and she poured out her feelings.

"No way. I was worried I’d really upset you and that you wouldn’t talk to ," Zhou Yuwen gently reassured her.

"You wish!" Zheng Yanyan teased, pouting. "You already got to touch, kiss, and nibble on , and now you expect

to leave you?"

"Doesn’t that an you got the better deal?"

"Impossible. You’re so sweet; I could never get enough of you," Zhou Yuwen flirted back.

Strangely, if anyone else had said these words, it wouldn’t have worked. But coming from Zhou Yuwen, they made Zheng Yanyan very happy. She tried to hide her joy as she whispered, "Actually..."

She wanted to admit that she liked being nibbled on by him, but her voice was so faint that Zhou Yuwen couldn’t hear it.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing! I’m going back to the dorm!" Zheng Yanyan quickly ended the conversation, blushing furiously. Despite the simple chat, her body had already reacted, and she found herself longing to be close to Zhou Yuwen again.

Just thinking about it made her feel shy.

"Zhou Yuwen, you’re such a jerk! I just want to bite your fingers off!" she muttered.

Zhou Yuwen chuckled, "Why would you want to bite my fingers?"

"Hmph! Anyway, I’m back at the dorm," Zheng Yanyan said as she arrived at her room. Though the lights were out, her roommates were still awake. She deliberately called out loudly, "Don’t forget to take us to the station tomorrow!"

"I won’t forget."

"Okay, I’m hanging up."

"Okay."

"Kiss ?"

"How?"

"Just kiss !"

"...."

"Dummy!" Zheng Yanyan hung up in a huff, annoyed that Zhou Yuwen hadn’t caught on to her playful mood. She then tidied up her things and climbed into bed, continuing to ssage Zhou Yuwen.

Zhou Yuwen, after finishing the call, returned to the dorm. There were only three people there, and it seed that Li Qiang and Chang Hao weren’t planning to sleep just yet.

Li Qiang had been teasing Chang Hao, trying to get a rise out of him, and whenever Chang Hao got annoyed, Li Qiang would laugh it off as a joke.

It was frustrating.

When Zhou Yuwen walked in, Li Qiang grinned and asked, "Zhou, done talking to your girlfriend?"

"Why are you always so interested in other people’s business? If you’re so curious, why not get a girlfriend yourself?" Zhou Yuwen retorted.

"I’d love to, but Lu Lin isn’t interested in . Zhou, could you put in a good word for

with her?" Li Qiang replied with a grin.

"Why should I do that?"

"Heh, if it works out, I’ll treat you to a al."

"What al does he owe you?" Chang Hao interjected, exasperated.

Li Qiang was just casually saying it. He always assud that Lu Lin liked Zhou Yuwen, and he figured that if Zhou Yuwen spoke to her about it, his chances of pursuing Lu Lin would improve significantly. However, it wasn't a big deal if he didn’t say anything.

Actually, there was sothing that intrigued Li Qiang more than these romantic issues. After a few brief exchanges, he shifted the conversation and said, "Zhou, you’re really low-key. When we first got to school, I always thought that Hao was the wealthiest in our dorm."

"Hao is from Beijing, where a single house costs millions. I even heard he has a courtyard house. You see, Hao always wears clothes and shoes that cost thousands, and he smokes Xuanhen. He’s on a different level from us."

Hearing Li Qiang say this, Chang Hao, who was playing a ga, felt a bit pleased. He picked up a Xuanhen cigarette from the table, lit it, and took a puff, saying, "For once, sothing decent ca out of your mouth."

"Hey, I’m not done yet. Now I think Zhou is actually the wealthiest in our dorm. He’s driving a car—a convertible, no less," Li Qiang finally brought up the topic.

Chang Hao took another drag of his cigarette and flicked the ash without saying anything. He was indeed curious. For the past month, Zhou Yuwen had seed pretty ordinary, but suddenly he bought a convertible M4. What kind of background did he co from?

When it ca to capabilities, Chang Hao couldn’t compete with Zhou Yuwen, so he sought so sense of superiority in family background. But Zhou Yuwen suddenly pulling up in a convertible completely shattered that sense of superiority.

So, he was eager to know what kind of family Zhou Yuwen ca from. He couldn’t believe that a small-town youth could actually be wealthier than him.

As he said this, Chang Hao handed Zhou Yuwen a cigarette.

Zhou Yuwen accepted it but only held it in his hand without lighting it. He calmly said, "My family situation is probably different from yours. My parents have always given

a lot of freedom, letting

make my own decisions. So yes, the money for the convertible ca from my family, but it wasn’t originally ant for a car."

"What kind of family just hands out tens of thousands like that?" Li Qiang didn’t know the exact price of an M4, but he knew it wasn’t cheap. Hearing that Zhou Yuwen’s parents had given him tens of thousands, he couldn’t help but feel envious.

"If it wasn’t ant for a car, then what was it for?" Chang Hao asked, curious.

"To buy a house. My parents are typical small-town folks. They worked hard their whole lives and saved up so money, hoping I could settle down in a big city. So when I ca to Jinling, they gave

the money to look around and find a suitable place to buy," Zhou Yuwen explained earnestly.

Not only did Li Qiang feel envious, but even Chang Hao was a bit jealous of Zhou Yuwen’s parents’ openness. Not many parents would trust their child with 800,000 yuan to buy a house. There were only two possibilities: either Zhou Yuwen’s parents were truly open-minded and completely trusted their son, or they were so wealthy that this 800,000 was just a test of their son’s capability.

Either way, it was sothing others would envy.

Zhou Yuwen’s explanation only made Chang Hao even more puzzled. Compared to Zhou Yuwen’s version of events, Chang Hao increasingly believed that Zhou Yuwen’s family was incredibly wealthy, but Zhou Yuwen was simply too low-key to admit it.

This realization weighed heavily on Chang Hao’s mind. Could he really not asure up to Zhou Yuwen?

Li Qiang, on the other hand, didn’t overthink it. He just said, "If your family can hand out that much money at once, then your family is definitely way better off than mine."

Zhou Yuwen just smiled and said, "There’s nothing to brag about when it’s your parents’ money."
