Lu Lin was quite puzzled by Zhou Yuwen asking her out. After what she said yesterday, she figured she had probably offended both Zhou Yuwen and Li Qiang in his dorm. Li Qiang hadn't contacted her since, and sotis Lu Lin wondered if she had been too harsh. But what else could she do? She felt nothing for Li Qiang.
She felt uneasy about using Zhou Yuwen as a shield to reject Li Qiang despite claiming they were even now. She figured Zhou Yuwen must despise her at this point.
But to her surprise, the next day, she received a ssage from Zhou Yuwen while she was in her dorm.
"Are you in your dorm?"
Curious about what Zhou Yuwen wanted, Lu Lin replied, "Yes."
"I'm downstairs. Co down."
Zhou Yuwen's ssage was brief, but Lu Lin obediently went downstairs.
She had overheard what Zheng Yanyan and Su Qing were saying and was even more curious.
As ntioned, Lu Lin's figure was similar to Zheng Yanyan's, but Zheng Yanyan had a brighter personality and was more playful. On the other hand, Lu Lin was quieter and a bit more reserved. She didn't like showing off her legs and preferred wearing black flared jeans, which accentuated her long legs and, in so ways, were even more eye-catching than bare legs.
Today, Lu Lin wore a light green knitted cardigan highlighting a girl's figure. Compared to the other girls in her dorm, Lu Lin's chest was relatively flat, but it wasn't completely flat—wearing this cardigan, she looked quite good. Her slim waist and long legs were well emphasized.
Zheng Yanyan was taken aback when she saw Lu Lin.
Lu Lin, however, remained calm.
"Why did you ask Lu Lin out?" Zheng Yanyan asked.
"I have sothing to discuss."
"What's it about?"
"You ask too many questions."
Zhou Yuwen was annoyed and told Lu Lin to co with him to talk privately.
"I want to go too," Zheng Yanyan insisted.
"Don't make things difficult."
Zheng Yanyan pouted but had no choice. She wanted to tag along but wasn't Zhou Yuwen's girlfriend, so she didn't have the right to do so.
The area in front of the girls' dorm was busy with people, so Zhou Yuwen led Lu Lin on a walk around the campus until they found a quiet pavilion.
"Here's 2,000 yuan," Zhou Yuwen said, handing Lu Lin an envelope.
"?" Lu Lin was puzzled.
"You said you needed money, right? Consider this a loan. Pay
back when you can."
When Lu Lin sent Zhou Yuwen the screenshot of her conversation with Li Qiang, most of the conversation revolved around the 2,000 yuan. Li Qiang's words made Zhou Yuwen uncomfortable, especially when he talked about giving all his financial aid to Lu Lin. Plus, Li Qiang and Chang Hao had been discussing the 2,000 yuan in the dorm for the past few days. Chang Hao kept insinuating that Lu Lin was just a bad girl, constantly questioning what she needed the money for. Li Qiang, naturally curious, would ask Lu Lin, but she would remain silent.
Chang Hao made nasty comnts, which Li Qiang would shut down, saying, "Linlin isn't like that."
Chang Hao retorted, "How would you know what she's like? Have you ever seen a good girl who smokes?"
Honestly, Chang Hao never thought much of Lu Lin.
Zhou Yuwen could tell from their conversations that Lu Lin needed 2,000 yuan. While that wasn't a huge amount for Zhou Yuwen, the way Lu Lin had asked for the loan had been too abrupt. They had just t, and she imdiately asked for money, even making a bold offer in return. Any guy would hesitate to lend money under those circumstances.
After thinking it over, Zhou Yuwen realized he hadn't handled it well either. While he didn't particularly like Lu Lin, he shouldn't have talked about her situation so openly, which had led to the whole dorm knowing about it.
In the end, Zhou Yuwen decided to just give her the money. After all, she was Su Qing's roommate. So be it if she was as bad as Chang Hao suggested. He'd consider the 2,000 yuan as the cost of entertainnt.
Lu Lin stared at the envelope in Zhou Yuwen's hand, unsure what to do.
When Li Qiang offered to lend her money, Lu Lin was touched. While Li Qiang was a bit rough around the edges, he was a good person. She had resolved to repay him if she ever got the chance.
But then Li Qiang's subsequent actions had completely turned her off.
Now that she had made it clear to Li Qiang that she wasn't interested, she was left without anyone willing to lend her the 2,000 yuan.
Just as she was worrying about it, Zhou Yuwen showed up with the money.
Lu Lin felt a surge of emotion and smiled at Zhou Yuwen. She took the envelope and said, "Just as I said before, from now on, I'm your girlfriend. If you're ever bored, co find . And for the record, I'm still a virgin."
"Just make sure you pay
back," Zhou Yuwen replied, completely missing her point and not interested in taking her up on her offer. Whether she was a virgin or not was none of his concern.
When he handed her the envelope, he noticed a rare smile on Lu Lin's face.
They walked around the girls' dorm area for a bit longer before Zhou Yuwen offered to walk her back to her dorm.
"Okay," Lu Lin agreed, her deanor still calm. No wonder Li Qiang had been so frustrated—Lu Lin seed unfazed no matter what anyone did for her.
On the other hand, Li Qiang was the type who expected results after spending money.
It was probably best that Li Qiang hadn't lent her the money—otherwise, he would have been even more upset.
Zhou Yuwen couldn't help but ask, "Didn't Li Qiang also offer to lend you money? Why didn't you make the sa offer to him?"
Lu Lin glanced at Zhou Yuwen and replied, "I'm not that easy."
"..."
After saying that, Lu Lin smiled at Zhou Yuwen.
As they continued walking back to the dorm, Lu Lin didn't deliberately stay close to Zhou Yuwen but walked side by side. Perhaps Lu Lin started talking about her hotown and high school experiences to break the awkward silence.
Zhou Yuwen listened quietly, offering little in response.
"Hey, Zhou?"
They were interrupted by Chang Hao, who called out to Zhou Yuwen.
Zhou Yuwen looked up to see Chang Hao and Li Qiang.
Li Qiang avoided eye contact when he saw Zhou Yuwen walking with Lu Lin. Having been rejected by Lu Lin the night before and knowing that she had used Zhou Yuwen as the reason, seeing them together now made Li Qiang's face darken.
Chang Hao, however, couldn't help but laugh and tease, "Wow, Zhou, you've got three out of the four girls in our dorm, huh?"
