Returning to university life was delightful, but repeating military training was not. So Zhou Yuwen had prepared a dical certificate from the hospital the previous day, regardless of its authenticity, just to avoid training. In the past, instructors might have been tough about approving leave, but with the increasing number of student collapses, the school had beco more cautious. As long as there was a legitimate reason, leave was typically granted.
"Go to the dical tent," the instructor said.
"Fine by ," Zhou Yuwen replied.
The instructor, seeing the hospital's certificate, didn’t give Zhou Yuwen a hard ti. Zhou Yuwen left the training grounds under the gaze of many students, including a dumbfounded Chang Hao, who was squatting in the distance.
On the field, the training squads were one after another, making Zhou Yuwen's departure quite noticeable. From the mont Chang Hao was pulled out, Shen Yu’s squad had taken notice.
"Isn’t that Chang Hao?" Shen Yu asked Zheng Yanyan.
"It is," Zheng Yanyan confird.
Shen Yu teased, "Your Chang Hao is being punished, aren’t you worried?"
Zheng Yanyan imdiately retorted, "Your Chang Hao! Your whole family's Chang Hao!"
Her outburst made the surrounding girls giggle. At that mont, Zheng Yanyan noticed Zhou Yuwen walking away.
"Hey, isn’t that Zhou Yuwen?" she pointed out.
Everyone saw a tall boy leaving the squad.
Su Qing, frowning, said, "Where's he going?"
It seed he was heading to the dical tent.
"Is he not feeling well?"
The dical tent, located in the southeast corner of the field, was a large green military tent with air conditioning inside and a red cross symbol hanging outside.
Zheng Yanyan laughed, "Zhou Yuwen is so weak, running off before the training even starts?"
Su Qing frowned, puzzled. This hadn’t happened in her previous life.
Zheng Yanyan didn’t realize the gravity of the situation, continuing to mock Zhou Yuwen’s frailty. However, her laughter soon ceased.
Although the girls’ training was sowhat easier, they still had to endure the sun and perform drills. After twenty minutes, Chang Hao's legs were trembling from squatting. When he finally rejoined the squad, he was pulled out again for talking.
"Damn it, he’s been talking for ages, and now I get in trouble!" Chang Hao fud. He had seen others talk without consequence, but the mont he did, he was caught.
"I didn’t see them, I saw you. Out!" the instructor barked.
Chang Hao angrily stared at the instructor, filled with frustration.
"What? Are you scared? Tired?" the instructor taunted.
Chang Hao said nothing, running to the side to squat again.
The training continued from morning until afternoon. The novelty wore off, leaving only pain. However, the sight of the girls chanting slogans was a beautiful one. Despite being clad in camouflage, their figures remained appealing.
At noon, with the sun blazing, Chang Hao was again punished. This ti, it was because Zheng Yanyan's squad passed by his. The sight of the vibrant girls caught everyone’s eye, even the instructors’.
Seeing Zheng Yanyan, Chang Hao couldn’t help but smile and wave.
"You! Out!"
"Damn it, what now?"
"Who were you waving at?"
"None of your business! Fine, I’ll get out!" Chang Hao, frustrated, strutted out, making a show of it, much to the amusent of the girls.
Standing at attention, even after the instructor said, "Stay until we finish today," Chang Hao replied, "Whoever chickens out is a wimp!"
His bravado made the girls laugh, but Shen Yu teased Zheng Yanyan, "Look, Yanyan, you’ve got him in trouble."
"What does this have to do with ?" Zheng Yanyan responded.
By 3 PM, the girls were sweating profusely, the heat unbearable. Zheng Yanyan couldn’t take it anymore and raised her hand, "Report."
The instructor asked what was wrong, and she feigned a pained expression, saying her stomach hurt.
The instructor asked if she could continue.
Zheng Yanyan shook her head, "I might be on my period."
"Oh," the instructor finally understood, allowing her to rest in the dical tent.
Zheng Yanyan left happily, her pain seemingly gone as she ran to the dical tent.
Chang Hao, squatting all day, saw her leave and tried the sa excuse.
"Oh, you can feel pain?"
"Yes, sir, my stomach really hurts."
"Stay squatting!"
"But I really need to go."
"Then crap your pants, I’ll clean it up!"
Chang Hao, frustrated, amused his fellow students with the exchange.
Zheng Yanyan, finding military training dull, decided to visit Zhou Yuwen in the dical tent. However, she was disappointed to find he wasn’t there. Zhou Yuwen, not one to waste ti, had sneaked out. Familiar with the campus, he found a way to slip out and continue his campus card business.
Military training had reduced the number of students needing cards, but Zhou Yuwen found new custors at nearby schools that hadn’t started yet. Liu Shuo, now fully on board with Zhou Yuwen’s business, helped expand their operations, even taking over card distribution at his school.
After another productive day, Zhou Yuwen returned to the dical tent around 4 PM, having processed over 200 cards, earning over ten thousand yuan.
"Where have you been?" Zheng Yanyan asked.
"Why are you slacking off here?" Zhou Yuwen retorted.
Before they could chat more, the instructor called the students back to the field for the day’s final session.
At 5:30, the setting sun painted the sky golden. The exhausted students were finally dismissed, with the instructor warning them of tougher days ahead.
"What's your na?" the instructor asked Chang Hao.
"Please, don't ss with
anymore. I know I was wrong," Chang Hao pleaded, exhausted.
"What's your na?"
"Chang Hao," he replied, defeated.
"During the training period, you’re the class representative for Class Two of Company Four."
"???" Chang Hao was dumbfounded.
