"Old Zhou, you're doing well! You must be making a lot of money!" Chang Hao said as he chatted with Zhou Yuwen.
Zhou Yuwen laughed and replied, "Not much."
Zheng Yanyan then asked Zhou Yuwen why he hadn't accepted her friend request. Her question made Chang Hao and Su Qing both flinch.
In the previous tiline, Zhou Yuwen had once boasted to Su Qing that Zheng Yanyan would be easy to win over, implying only soone like Chang Hao would fail to pursue her.
"How exactly do you plan to win her over?" Su Qing asked in a slightly jealous tone.
Realizing his mistake, Zhou Yuwen quickly responded, "What? Did you add ? I was busy this morning and didn't notice." He checked his phone and asked, "Which one is you?"
Zheng Yanyan couldn't help but laugh at the sight of Zhou Yuwen's friend requests, many of which were from girls. She took his phone and added herself, putting a heart next to her na.
"Is this the latest iPhone 5s? How much did it cost?" she asked, pretending to be interested in the phone.
"No idea. The telecom office gave it to
because I'm the general agent."
"The telecom office gave you an iPhone? Are they hiring? Do you think they'd take ?" Zheng Yanyan joked, clearly interested.
Zhou Yuwen chuckled and said, "It's not that easy."
"Zhou Yuwen," Su Qing interjected, her tone questioning. "How did you beco the general agent for the telecom office?"
Zhou Yuwen feigned ignorance, asking, "Why wouldn't I be able to beco the general agent?"
Su Qing wanted to say that he had never done anything like this in their previous lives, but she couldn't reveal such knowledge. Instead, she asked, "Are you really from this world?"
Everyone laughed at her question.
"Su Qing, you're so funny. If Zhou Yuwen isn't from this world, where is he from?" Zheng Yanyan laughed, clutching her stomach.
But Su Qing ignored her, staring intently at Zhou Yuwen.
Zhou Yuwen laughed, "Yeah, where else would I be from, Su Qing? You're so strange."
"Brother Zhou, soone wants a card," Liu Shuo called out, saving Zhou Yuwen from further interrogation.
Zhou Yuwen excused himself to handle the custor while Su Qing continued to watch him, suspicion growing in her mind.
She wondered if her presence had sohow altered the tiline. And who was that girl talking to Zhou Yuwen under the tree? She was prettier than Su Qing, who had never seen her before in the previous tiline.
Feeling a surge of jealousy, Su Qing decided to investigate further.
anwhile, Chang Hao and Zheng Yanyan each got a card, along with Shen Yu. When Shen Yu approached, Zhou Yuwen pretended not to know her.
"Long ti no see, Senior Zhou," Shen Yu said.
"Sorry for tricking you and your mom yesterday. It was a necessary asure," Zhou Yuwen admitted.
Everyone was surprised to learn that Zhou Yuwen and Shen Yu knew each other and that Zhou Yuwen had deceived her.
"Not honest!" Zheng Yanyan comnted.
Chang Hao added, "Yeah, Old Zhou has never been honest!"
Zhou Yuwen made a gesture of apology, "It's all part of doing business."
"That won't do. You owe Shen Yu a al for tricking her," Zheng Yanyan insisted.
"Sure, sure. Once things settle down, I'll treat everyone to a al," Zhou Yuwen agreed.
Zheng Yanyan and her friends decided to stick around, finding the card-selling business interesting. Liu Shuo and Chang Hao hit it off, bonding over their love of cigarettes.
When Chang Hao saw Li Shiqi, his eyes lit up. "Who's this, Old Zhou? Aren't you going to introduce us?"
"Oh, this is my high school classmate, Li Shiqi. And this is Liu Shuo," Zhou Yuwen introduced them.
Li Shiqi, a quiet and polite girl, stood up and greeted them, "Hello."
"Hello! I'm Chang Hao. Are you a student here too?" Chang Hao asked.
Li Shiqi shook her head.
"She's from South University," Zhou Yuwen explained.
This revelation left everyone, especially Su Qing, in shock.
"South University?!" Su Qing couldn't believe it. In the previous tiline, there was no such person.
Liu Shuo boldly claid, "This is Brother Zhou's childhood sweetheart!"
Childhood sweetheart?! Su Qing's eyes turned red with jealousy. Either the tiline had changed, or Zhou Yuwen had been hiding this girl from her all along.
Zhou Yuwen quickly corrected Liu Shuo, "Stop talking nonsense. She's just a friend."
He then introduced Liu Shuo, "This is my good friend, Liu Shuo. He studies at the Engineering College next door."
Seeing Zhou Yuwen call him a good friend, Liu Shuo straightened up proudly.
Chang Hao offered Liu Shuo a cigarette, and the two bonded over their shared habit. They discussed the business, with Chang Hao suggesting they lower the price to attract more custors.
Liu Shuo warned, "If you lower the price too much, you'll disrupt the market, and people will cause trouble."
"There's no trouble. We live in a society ruled by law now," Chang Hao argued.
As they talked, one of Liu Shuo's classmates rushed over and said, "Brother Shuo, your high school classmate is being bullied!"
