When Zhou Yuwen went to class in the afternoon, Sun Lili was finally satisfied to see him show up.

She earnestly advised him, "Although dating is important, you can't abandon your studies."

Zhou Yuwen offered an awkward smile, not taking her words to heart.

The Humble Administrator's Garden was significantly larger than Lingering Garden, and they spent the entire afternoon exploring its grounds.

Knowing he wasn't well-acquainted with his classmates, Zhou Yuwen didn't force himself to blend in. However, the other students were quite eager to get close to him. Li Qiang was the most obvious, grinning widely as he asked, "Brother Zhou, why didn't you bring your girlfriend along today?"

Chang Hao wouldn't stoop so low. He had clashed with Zhou Yuwen several tis already. As the class monitor, he could remind Zhou Yuwen about his absences or help him carry luggage.

But acting like nothing happened and crowding around to joke with Zhou Yuwen was sothing he simply couldn't do.

So, while Li Qiang eagerly played the attendant and the teacher lectured at the front, Zhou Yuwen would occasionally toss out a witty remark. After all, since he was there, he might as well make his presence known.

A few sentences from him would send the classmates into fits of laughter, earning him several eye rolls from Sun Lili.

Aside from Li Qiang, the girls in the class also chatted with Zhou Yuwen to varying degrees, such as the vice class monitor, Gu Yaoyao, who was also the prettiest girl in the class.

She dressed elegantly, exuding a bit of a mature, authoritative aura.

Won with decent looks rarely initiated conversations with boys, but when Ma Tian, Li Jing, and the others chatted with Zhou Yuwen about topics that caught her interest, she would chi in with a few words.

The first person to speak to Zhou Yuwen was actually Liu Yue.

Liu Yue asked Zhou Yuwen if he had ordered food delivery on the 25th.

Zhou Yuwen replied that he couldn't rember.

"I was the one who delivered your food that day," Liu Yue stated, looking quite proud of the fact.

Hearing this, Zhou Yuwen couldn't help but smile. "That's great," he replied.

"The delivery fee must have been pretty high, right?" Zhou Yuwen asked.

"Yeah! Because you live off-campus, I made five yuan off that single order!" Liu Yue declared proudly.

"That high?"

After Liu Yue broke the ice, Ma Tian and Li Jing joined the conversation, asking, "Everyone at school is saying that you founded Xianlin Delivery, Zhou Yuwen. Is that true?"

"I started it with a friend," he confird.

"Wow, Zhou Yuwen, you're amazing!"

They chatted about trivial, empty topics. Ma Tian and Li Jing were relatively average in appearance, and girls like them could usually be happy for an entire day just by exchanging a few words with soone like Zhou Yuwen.

The afternoon passed quickly. In the evening, Zhou Yuwen treated Gu Yaoyao and her roommates to Suzhou's specialty dish, Cangshu Mutton. Li Qiang shalessly tagged along, while Chang Hao couldn't set aside his pride to join them.

After returning to the hotel and taking a shower, Zheng Yanyan and the others also ca back from shopping.

Zheng Yanyan's passion for Zhou Yuwen remained as fiery as ever. The mont she returned to the suite, she couldn't wait to throw herself into his arms. "Hubby! I missed you so much!"

Her affection might also have been partly to show off in front of her roommates.

Seeing the four of them carrying nurous bags, Zhou Yuwen couldn't help but ask, "What did you buy? That's a huge pile."

"Just so clothes. Oh, right, Hubby, I bought two pieces of clothing for you too!" Zheng Yanyan said, specifically shaking the nswear shopping bags. The weather was getting cold.

Zheng Yanyan had bought two wool sweaters for Zhou Yuwen.

Zhou Yuwen took a look and realized they were from Heilan Ho.

Well, Zhou Yuwen never wore Heilan Ho; the style was too old-fashioned for him.

Aside from that, Zheng Yanyan showed off the matching outfits she and Lu Lin had bought.

She wanted to change into them for Zhou Yuwen and ask if they looked pretty.

"I told Linlin that you'd reimburse us. Linlin is my bestie. Hubby, it's not too much to ask you to gift my sister an outfit, right?" Zheng Yanyan giggled, blinking at him.

Zhou Yuwen replied that it wasn't too much at all.

"I'll reimburse it, all of it. They really do look nice." Zhou Yuwen thought to himself, 'It's all the sa to ,' so it didn't matter.

And so, another day of playful banter passed. In the evening, Zhou Yuwen kept the girls company by playing poker in their room.

Li Qiang called to ask if Zhou Yuwen wanted to play Werewolf.

Zhou Yuwen glanced at Zheng Yanyan and the other girls playing cards and asked if they wanted to join.

Without even looking up, Zheng Yanyan refused.

Zhou Yuwen relayed her exact words.

Hanging up the phone, Li Qiang gave a helpless look to Chang Hao beside him. "See, Brother Hao, they don't want to play. You took things too seriously last night."

Chang Hao said nothing.

He had been telling Li Qiang that he no longer liked Zheng Yanyan.

But after last night's incident, his relationship with Zheng Yanyan was probably worse than that of strangers. Before, her affection for him had rely been at zero.

Now, it was at negative fifty.

Chang Hao felt a bit dejected.

However, human sorrows are rarely shared. Li Qiang could still happily play Werewolf. He had t Lu Hui the night before, and the two had hit it off, playing until two in the morning before adding each other on WeChat and chatting for another hour.

Chang Hao hadn't slept that night either.

Lu Hui ntioned she had been to Jingcheng and rattled off the places she had visited.

Li Qiang didn't know much about it, so he asked the quietly sulking Chang Hao beside him.

Whatever Chang Hao said, Li Qiang parroted right back to Lu Hui.

Lu Hui hadn't thought about anything romantic happening with Li Qiang, but since he was from Jingcheng, she figured building so connections wouldn't be a bad thing.

Nothing major happened today; it was an average day.

Early the next morning, a light drizzle suddenly began to fall. November rains were rarely accompanied by howling winds, especially in a place like Suzhou, where they were typically gentle and silent.

It started as a soft patter and gradually beca a steady drip.

Water tick-tacked from the eaves and roof tiles.

Their morning plans to visit the Lion Grove Garden were ruined, leaving the classmates huddled in their rooms playing cards and chatting.

Zhou Yuwen's room was much the sa. A few of them sat on the living room carpet, with Zheng Yanyan resting her head on Zhou Yuwen's lap as she lazily played poker.

When they grew tired of playing, they would lie on the sofa and watch a movie.

Zheng Yanyan continued to act affectionate with Zhou Yuwen as if no one else were there—hugging him, kissing him, and so on.

Whenever this happened, Shen Yu would shyly lower her head.

Lu Lin, on the other hand, remained expressionless and went about her business.

Only Su Qing would openly glare at Zheng Yanyan, her eyes filled with obvious jealousy.

At eight in the morning, only Zhou Yuwen and Su Qing ca down for breakfast. Su Qing trailed behind him, tugging at the hem of his shirt.

Zhou Yuwen asked what was wrong.

Su Qing replied, "You said before that as long as I was good, you'd make ti to spend a whole day with ."

Zhou Yuwen responded that he did want to spend ti with her.

"But look, when would I have the chance? Lu Lin and Shen Yu are both here, and Yanyan clings to

every day. How can I keep you company? Plus, it's raining outside."

But Su Qing was still very unhappy. She suggested, "If we have to, let's just book another room. We can stay in there for an hour."

"You must be joking. What exactly do you want

to keep you company for?"

Su Qing snapped, "You make Zheng Yanyan scream in the room every day! They might not care, but I do!"

"Getting impatient?" Zhou Yuwen teased.

Su Qing shot back, "Since when did you beco so amazing? Weren't you always a ten-minute man?"

"Heh, youth is my greatest asset," Zhou Yuwen chuckled.

"Get out of here!"

The two chatted as they entered the restaurant for breakfast. Su Qing was serious. She could be obedient and sensible for Zhou Yuwen, but she couldn't tolerate him spending all his ti with Zheng Yanyan.

Even ancient emperors believed in the equal distribution of favor among their concubines.

Zhou Yuwen explained to Su Qing that nothing had happened with Zheng Yanyan last night.

Since his rebirth, Zhou Yuwen's physical constitution had clearly strengthened. He lasted a very long ti every session. Doing it occasionally was fine, but if it was an everyday occurrence, wouldn't it rub raw?

So, Zhou Yuwen was actually being considerate toward Zheng Yanyan.

Last night, he simply held Zheng Yanyan as they slept. Nothing else occurred.

"Then why was she screaming all by herself?" Su Qing asked, puzzled.

Zhou Yuwen smirked. "Screaming for you to hear, of course!"

"!" Now Su Qing was even angrier. She fud, "Zheng Yanyan is clearly provoking !"

"It's not that deep."

Su Qing puffed out her cheeks. She was still wearing rimless tal glasses. With a little dressing up, she would definitely exude a cold, unapproachable beauty, but right now, coming down just for breakfast in a simple shirt, she gave off a girl-next-door vibe.

Watching Zhou Yuwen sit there spreading butter on his toast.

A wicked smile suddenly crept onto Su Qing's lips. She extended her index finger, poked the back of Zhou Yuwen's hand, and asked, "Since she's on her period, aren't you getting antsy?"

"Why would I be antsy?" Zhou Yuwen was bewildered.

"Holding it in can't feel good~" Su Qing teased, thinking she had Zhou Yuwen figured out.

But Zhou Yuwen didn't care. As he ate his toast, he casually remarked, "She's not like you. There's more than one way to get things done."

"?"

Su Qing's smile vanished instantly. She rembered the scene she had witnessed at Zhou Yuwen's house that day—Zhou Yuwen sitting on the sofa while Zheng Yanyan made all sorts of noises.

"Slut!" Su Qing muttered under her breath.

Zhou Yuwen pretended not to hear.

After a short while, Su Qing couldn't resist suggesting, "I'll go book a room in a bit. Co out and chat with ."

"Where can't we chat? Isn't booking a room a waste of money?"

"You're so annoying!"

Su Qing rolled her eyes at him, continuing to trace circles on the back of his hand with her index finger.

She asked, "Don't you want to finish what we started before?"

Zhou Yuwen had no desire to touch that topic, abruptly shifting the subject: "Hey, are you girls heading out to play today?"

"Zhou Yuwen!"

Su Qing was so furious she could die. His attempt to change the subject was far too obvious.

Angrily, she kicked him under the table.

She then pleaded pitifully, "I don't want to do anything crazy. I just want you to hold , we don't have to do anything else."

Zhou Yuwen kept his head down, eating his bread, pretending he didn't hear her.

Su Qing gently bit her lower lip. 'n are all the sa!' she thought.

'Before marriage, they're more impatient than anyone.'

'But once married, getting them to move is harder than forcing a donkey to grind a millstone!'

"If you won't book a room, I will," Su Qing stated, preparing to stand up.

"Co back."

Zhou Yuwen stopped her.

Su Qing turned to look at him.

Zhou Yuwen sighed and said, "You're a girl, yet all you ever think about is booking hotel rooms."

"Go upstairs first. I'll speak to the front desk in a bit."

Hearing this, Su Qing finally giggled, rushing over to hug him and plant a kiss on his cheek. "I knew my Hubby treated

the best!"

"Hubby, don't you find this exciting?" Su Qing asked.

"What's so exciting about it?"

"Think about it. You go on a trip with your girlfriend, and you bring your mistress along to cheat. Isn't that thrilling?" Su Qing giggled.

"Oh, so you admit you're the other woman?"

"I am not," Su Qing flatly denied. "However, I really do enjoy this feeling. Didn't she bring a lot of special lingerie? I'll steal one later."

Zhou Yuwen stared at his ex-wife in utter shock.

"What?" Su Qing asked.

"Nothing."

Well, Zhou Yuwen would never understand the world of won. But as Su Qing was leaving, he still couldn't help adding, "Rember to steal those white camisole stockings."

"Pfft!"

Su Qing burst into laughter.

To be honest, he felt Su Qing would look better in white camisole stockings than Zheng Yanyan. Since Zheng Yanyan was naturally bubbly and lively, any outfit she wore wouldn't feel out of place.

Su Qing, on the other hand, was much more dignified and elegant.

So wearing white stockings would create a much sharper contrast.

Now that he thought about it, Zhou Yuwen actually felt a bit of anticipation picturing Su Qing in those stockings.

After finishing his al, Zhou Yuwen went to the front desk and booked a king-size bed room.

But plans could never keep up with changes. At ten in the morning, the rain stopped.

Their main purpose for coming to Suzhou was for class, so the teacher wasn't going to let the students just lounge around the hotel. Taking advantage of the clear weather, the teacher decided to take everyone on a tour of the Lion Grove Garden.

As for Zheng Yanyan and the other three girls, they were given free ti. When they strolled down Guanqian Street the day before, Zheng Yanyan had taken nurous photos and posted them on her Monts, racking up countless likes from her friends. Extrely pleased, she wanted to explore more of Suzhou's high-end spots today.

Shen Yu suggested, "You could check out the Suzhou Center then. Even though it's not completely finished yet, it's definitely considered a landmark of Suzhou."

"Where is it?" Zheng Yanyan was imdiately intrigued.

Unfortunately, neither Su Qing nor Lu Lin had much desire to go.

Lu Lin was a hobody by nature, and given the rain earlier, she just wanted to vegetate in the hotel room.

Zheng Yanyan didn't mind Lu Lin staying behind, but the thought of Su Qing staying in the hotel and potentially doing sothing with Zhou Yuwen gave her a strong sense of impending crisis.

That was until Su Qing ntioned she wouldn't be at the hotel today.

"I have a relative in Suzhou, so I need to go visit her today," Su Qing said, looking slightly exasperated, as if she knew exactly what Zheng Yanyan was worrying about.

"You have relatives in Suzhou?" Zheng Yanyan asked with a light chuckle.

"Why? Is that not allowed?"

"No, no, of course it is."

And so, the four girls split up. Zheng Yanyan and Shen Yu headed to Suzhou Center, Su Qing went to the Old Town by herself, and Lu Lin stayed behind to vegetate at the hotel.

After lounging around until the afternoon, Lu Lin grew bored. She ssaged Zhou Yuwen, asking where he was.

Zhou Yuwen replied that he was at the Suzhou Museum.

Lu Lin told him that Zheng Yanyan and the others had all gone out.

"I'm the only one in the hotel."

"Oh, I'm in class right now," Zhou Yuwen responded.

Lu Lin felt a bit disappointed that he hadn't caught her hint.

After a mont's thought, she offered, "Then should I co find you?"

"Sure."

Half an hour later, Lu Lin took a taxi to the entrance of the Suzhou Museum, where Zhou Yuwen ca out to et her.

The atmosphere during class was much the sa as the previous day. So students would take the initiative to get closer to Zhou Yuwen and chat with him.

However, Zhou Yuwen's responses were lukewarm at best. Even if people wanted to be friends with him, they couldn't figure out what to talk about.

A while later, when the classmates turned around, they noticed an extra girl standing next to him.

It seed to be the bestie of Zhou Yuwen's girlfriend.

Almost a full sester had passed, and compared to the beginning of the school year, Zheng Yanyan and the other girls had changed significantly. For example, they now knew how to apply makeup, and their fashion sense had elevated beyond that of a typical student.

Lu Lin, however, hadn't changed much. She still wore a black T-shirt. Now that the weather was cold, she threw a jacket over it and paired it with slightly flared black jeans.

She rarely smiled, but just like most girls, she simply wanted to spend more ti with her boyfriend.

Sun Lili led the students at the front, delivering her lecture.

Zhou Yuwen trailed behind with Lu Lin.

Because they were surrounded by acquaintances, they were too embarrassed to hold hands.

Lu Lin kept her hands stuffed deep inside her jacket pockets.

Being the weekend, the Suzhou Museum was quite crowded.

Most of the visitors were parents bringing their kids to experience the rich, ancient history of Jiangnan culture.

Over in one corner, a young couple was holding a child while looking at the jade artifacts. The child was young, having just learned to walk. The parents set him down to practice, and the toddler tipped his head back, reaching out with babbling sounds as he tried to grab the jade pieces inside the glass display case.

The young father said, "You can't take that. It's jade. Say it with —jade!"

The toddler babbled back, "Eat!"

"No eating, you can't eat it! It's jade!"

"Eat!"

Watching this unfold from a distance, Lu Lin couldn't help but let out a snort of laughter.

Zhou Yuwen hadn't noticed at first, but after seeing Lu Lin laugh, his attention was drawn to the young couple.

He asked her what was so funny.

Lu Lin leaned against him and whispered that the kid was a total foodie, only thinking about eating all day.

Zhou Yuwen didn't see what was so hilarious about that.

But seeing her covering her mouth and laughing so joyously, he chuckled along. In truth, Lu Lin looked incredibly beautiful when she smiled.

Realizing that Zhou Yuwen was staring at her, Lu Lin stopped laughing after a mont. Giving him a bashful, reproachful glare, she muttered, "Why are you looking at ?"

"Nothing. Do you like kids that much?" Zhou Yuwen asked.

Lu Lin replied that they were quite fun, as long as you didn't have to raise them yourself.

By now, the teacher and the other students had moved on to a different exhibition hall, leaving the two of them behind. Taking Lu Lin's small hand, Zhou Yuwen said, "If you like them, we can have one of our own later."

"I'm not having your baby," Lu Lin scoffed. Despite the sweet curve of her lips, she shot back, "Go find Zheng Yanyan to have your baby."

"No can do. I want you to have it. We'll have a flat-chested one just like you," Zhou Yuwen teased.

"You—" Her joy didn't even last two seconds before Zhou Yuwen's remark completely broke her composure. She had to fight the urge to pinch him.

Zhou Yuwen dodged her, chuckling as he noted, "You're getting bolder."

"Hmph."

The two ssed around playfully for a bit.

The Suzhou Museum was essentially a series of small, interconnected rooms. The Jade Gallery, in particular, was full of partitions.

If Lu Lin wanted to ss with him, there was no way he would just let her win.

He abruptly dragged her into a secluded side room to properly "teach her a lesson."

And Lu Lin thoroughly enjoyed his lesson.

Cradling his little darling in his arms, Zhou Yuwen kissed her cheek and suggested, "How about we head back to the hotel early?"

"When I asked earlier, you refused?"

"Didn't I have class?"

"Give

a break." Lu Lin curled her lip, not buying for a second that he took his studies that seriously.

Still, it was a pity. If they had stayed at the hotel earlier, they could have slept together. But now, they certainly wouldn't have enough ti.

What if they got started, and then Su Qing and the others returned?

Zhou Yuwen assured her it wouldn't be an issue.

Leaning close to her ear, he whispered, "I booked another room."

"?" Startled, Lu Lin looked up at him.

She saw him give a confirming nod.

The corners of Lu Lin's mouth imdiately curled upward. She assud he had booked the extra room specifically for her. How impressive—bringing his girlfriend on a trip publicly, while secretly booking a separate room with her.

Such a bad boy!

Lu Lin rolled her eyes at him affectionately.

Zhou Yuwen pressed, "Just tell , do you want to or not?"

"I don't know!"

"Don't know? What don't you know?"

They fooled around for a few more minutes before deciding to head straight back to the hotel.

But just as they stepped out of the Jade Gallery, Zhou Yuwen's phone rang.

It was Chang Hao, demanding to know where he had run off to.

"Teacher Sun is looking for you everywhere."

That wasn't a lie. Driving up in a BMW X7 to attend class had already left a deep impression on the teacher. Coupled with the fact that he had taken a full day off prior, Teacher Sun was already giving him imnse face by granting the leave. Moving forward, she was definitely going to keep a close eye on him.

"Oh," Zhou Yuwen replied. "I'm near the Jade Gallery."

"Alright, we're by the pool at the back of the museum. Co over here," Chang Hao directed.

Left with no choice, Zhou Yuwen had to rejoin the main group first.

They trailed after the group for nearly an hour, and Lu Lin began to think they had lost their chance to slip away early.

However, at the very last second, Zhou Yuwen grabbed Lu Lin's hand and made a break for it.

By the ti the tour concluded near six o'clock, Sun Lili delivered her closing remarks at the museum entrance. She stated that the designated spots for their Suzhou trip—Lingering Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and Suzhou Museum—were now completed.

Next sester, they might be taking a trip to Hangzhou.

"Class monitor, do a roll call. Is everyone here?"

"Everyone's here," Chang Hao answered.

Sun Lili nodded and glanced around. "Wait, where is your classmate Zhou Yuwen?"

Hearing her question, Li Qiang couldn't hold back a snicker.

Sun Lili shot a look at him, and Li Qiang covered his mouth, trying to stifle his laughter.

Realizing what had happened, Sun Lili looked at Chang Hao. "He ran off again?"

Chang Hao looked a bit embarrassed.

Sun Lili sighed. Oh well, forget it. Every class had a few students like this—they hadn't co to university to study at all. As long as they stayed out of trouble, it was fine.

By the ti the students returned to the hotel, the sky had already grown dark.

The two-and-a-half-day practical course was officially over. Tomorrow morning at ten, they would take the bus back to Jinling.

It was a rare opportunity to visit Suzhou, so the classmates took advantage of it, heading out in small groups of three or five to explore.

Even Li Qiang decided to tag along with Jiang Chao from the next dorm to grab so drinks.

Li Qiang asked Chang Hao if he wanted to join.

"You guys go ahead. I still need to settle the hotel bill," Chang Hao replied.

Consequently, Chang Hao returned to the hotel alone and approached the front desk to settle the accounts.

There were ten rooms in total, booked for three nights. While settling the bill, Chang Hao requested an invoice, as it was being paid from the class's public fund.

"Would you like an invoice for the other two rooms as well?" the receptionist asked casually.

"The other two?" Chang Hao was confused. Hadn't they only booked ten rooms?

"The two that were added later, on the seventh and eighth floors," the receptionist clarified. She had assud Zhou Yuwen was part of the group's bill. Besides, asking for invoices usually ant they were ant for reimbursent.

Including two extra rooms would an a larger reimbursent sum.

The receptionist had asked out of pure goodwill.

But Chang Hao didn't register this imdiately. He recalled that Zhou Yuwen had only booked one room. Why would he open another one? To sleep in by himself?

In a flash, Chang Hao's expression turned incredibly solemn.

"Would you like an invoice for the other two rooms?" the receptionist repeated.

"For-forget it, there's no need." His face betrayed no emotion. After a mont's thought, he finally shook his head. He could guess that the extra room was undoubtedly booked by Zhou Yuwen to hook up with Lu Lin.

But what did that have to do with him?

Should he really go sticking his nose into other people's business?

Thinking it over, he decided to just let it go.

After securing the invoice and paying the bill.

Chang Hao walked toward the elevator banks while examining the information on the receipt.

The elevator ascended from the basent level.

When the doors opened, he found Shen Yu and Zheng Yanyan inside.

Chang Hao was just about to say hello.

But Zheng Yanyan instantly turned her head away.

Evidently, her anger from the Werewolf ga hadn't subsided in the slightest.

Chang Hao's expression darkened as he silently stepped inside.

When they were in the elevator before, there had been a lot of people.

Everyone had been chatting and laughing, so it hadn't felt awkward at all.

But now, with only the three of them, the space felt vastly empty.

Unable to bear Chang Hao's awkwardness, Shen Yu took the initiative to break the ice. "Is it just you?"

"The others went out to have fun," Chang Hao replied.

"Oh."

After that brief exchange, silence fell over the elevator once more.

Soon enough, Chang Hao arrived at the third floor.

The elevator doors slid open.

Chang Hao stepped out.

Throughout the entire ride, Zheng Yanyan hadn't said a single word.

It was only after Chang Hao exited that Zheng Yanyan finally let out a long sigh of relief. "He's finally gone."

The elevator doors closed.

Shen Yu chided, "You two used to be on pretty good terms. Do you really have to act like that?"

"I don't want to act like this, but he's forcing my hand. I made it perfectly clear to him before that I don't like him. Yet he insists on pestering . His behavior is actually really starting to bother ," Zheng Yanyan complained in frustration.

"He wasn't really pestering you just now," Shen Yu pointed out.

"Give

a break. What he said during Werewolf the day before yesterday was honestly pretty disgusting."

The distance between the third and eighth floors allowed so ti for travel. Zheng Yanyan was already fuming at Chang Hao, and since Shen Yu had asked, she decided to vent all her frustrations honestly:

"Damn it, we're playing a ga, and he just had to drag real life into it."

"Think about it, what he said that day—was it even reasonable? He told

I shouldn't believe Zhou Yuwen just because he's my boyfriend, or Lu Lin just because she's my bestie."

"If I don't trust them, who am I supposed to trust? Him?"

Ding! The elevator chid as it arrived.

The doors slid open.

Zheng Yanyan muttered, "He's such an idiot. He speaks without using his brain at all.

not cursing him out to his face is already giving him plenty of face—"

Before she could finish her sentence, Zheng Yanyan prepared to step out.

But seeing Chang Hao standing right outside, she froze.

Zheng Yanyan was stunned.

It was as if she had just seen a ghost.

Even Shen Yu was bewildered.

Didn't Chang Hao get off on the third floor just monts ago?

Had the elevator been stuck on the third floor this whole ti?

Shen Yu instinctively glanced at the floor display.

It clearly read the eighth floor.

But there stood Chang Hao, panting heavily.

Sweat stained his cheeks.

Chang Hao had caught half of what Zheng Yanyan had said inside the elevator, including that specific phrase: "He's finally gone."

That single phrase.

It made his heart completely freeze over.

'Do you really...'

'...hate

that much?'

'But...'

'I didn't do anything wrong.'

Chang Hao's nose suddenly stung. Throwing caution to the wind, he had bolted up the ergency stairwell next to the elevator, running from the third floor up to the fifth.

His chest felt like it was going to explode.

Panting heavily, he had arrived just as the elevator doors opened.

He couldn't even stand up straight.

He rested both hands on his knees.

Gasping for air.

"I ca..."

"...I just wanted to say one thing to you," Chang Hao rasped.

"I'm not listening!" Zheng Yanyan imdiately refused.

Chang Hao froze.

He watched as Zheng Yanyan adopted an incredibly arrogant expression, pulling Shen Yu's hand. "Don't say anything to . You're definitely trying to drive a wedge between

and my boyfriend again, aren't you? Save your breath. I've told you hundreds of tis: I do not like you. Can you please stop pestering ?"

She yanked Shen Yu along, stepping out of the elevator.

"Just listen to

first!" Chang Hao couldn't help but grow anxious.

"I won't listen! Leave

alone!"

"Do you really trust Zhou Yuwen that much!? Have you ever considered that he—"

"That he has other won besides ?"

Zheng Yanyan interrupted, glaring fiercely at him.

Chang Hao was taken aback.

"That's what you wanted to tell , right?"

Faced with her intense gaze, Chang Hao finally nodded. "Yeah, exactly, he..."

"Then I already know."

"You know? Then why are you still...?"

"Because I want to!"

"Alright? You just wanted to talk about Tao Tian, right? I've known about that for ages, and it doesn't matter anyway. Chang Hao, can you please stop bothering ? I've said it a hundred tis, I don't like you. What good does telling

any of this do?" Zheng Yanyan demanded.

Chang Hao had given it his all, sprinting from the third floor to the eighth.

Originally, he had thought he'd have a mountain of things to say to her.

He never expected to be shut down so decisively.

And to his absolute shock, she claid that it didn't matter.

He clearly rembered that Zheng Yanyan had always valued loyalty the most.

Why did she suddenly not care?

"It's not just Tao Tian, there's also—" Chang Hao couldn't hold it back any longer.

"Even if Zhou Yuwen really did cheat!" Zheng Yanyan cut him off once again. "Let's say he really cheated, and we break up. Then what?"

Zheng Yanyan demanded, staring right at him.

Chang Hao was montarily struck speechless.

"Even if that happens, there is no possibility of us getting together, Chang Hao," Zheng Yanyan stated firmly.

"You still don't understand one simple fact—a fact that has absolutely nothing to do with Zhou Yuwen: I have never liked you, from the very beginning." In truth, Zheng Yanyan knew exactly why Chang Hao kept clinging to her.

Chang Hao clamped his mouth shut, unable to squeeze out another word.

"I know exactly what kind of person Zhou Yuwen is. But right now, I'm happy. I only ask that you stop bothering . Is that too much to ask?"

Chang Hao lowered his head, utterly unable to speak.

Seeing him like this, Zheng Yanyan gave a satisfied humph, pulled Shen Yu's hand, and walked away.

She pulled out her room card, unlocked the door, and stepped inside.

"Did you know that Zhou Yuwen and Lu Lin booked a room downstairs!?"

Just as Zheng Yanyan was about to cross the threshold, Chang Hao suddenly scread at the top of his lungs.
