Zheng Yanyan glanced back at Zhou Yuwen, asking, “Wanna co out with ?”

Zhou Yuwen, lying comfortably on the bed with his phone, firmly shook his head. There was no way he was going out after what had just transpired—especially not to face the three girls in the living room, most notably Shen Yu. The thought alone made him cringe.

“Coward,” Yanyan teased, clearly amused.

“This isn’t about courage,” Zhou Yuwen mumbled, waving her off. “Just close the door on your way out.”

“Humph.”

Yanyan huffed dramatically, threw on her robe, and headed out.

In the dimly lit living room, the only source of light was the projector casting the horror movie onto the wall. The three girls, all fresh from their showers, were lounging casually.

Shen Yu sat on the floor in cartoon pajamas, hugging her knees with her feet wrapped in white cotton socks. Su Qing perched elegantly on the sofa, wearing an oversized white shirt that highlighted her bare, flawless legs. Her unfrad gold-rimd glasses added a sophisticated touch. Lu Lin, seated cross-legged on the other side of the sofa, wore a simple black T-shirt and cotton shorts, her feet snug in boat socks as she snacked on crispy treats.

The movie had reached a tense mont. The mysterious deaths surrounding the cursed doll were escalating, and the plot now centered on a young boy claiming the doll had moved and winked at him.

The boy’s babysitter, dismissive of his fears, had ushered him off to bed, returning to the living room to enjoy her chips and a late-night cody show. The audience was left watching from the doll’s perspective as it slowly crept closer to the babysitter.

Everyone was on edge, hearts pounding, when suddenly—

“You guys watching a horror movie?”

Yanyan’s sudden appearance broke the tension, startling everyone.

“What the heck!?”

“Couldn’t you make so noise when you walk!?”

“You trying to scare us to death!?”

Shen Yu visibly flinched, clutching at her chest as she took a deep breath to calm herself. When she realized it was Yanyan, she glared at her with rare annoyance.

Yanyan, unbothered, plopped down beside Lu Lin, her wet pink hair dampening her robe. “Why aren’t you all asleep? Watching horror movies this late—aren’t you worried about waking up early tomorrow?”

Su Qing rolled her eyes. “It’s not like we can sleep with all the noise you’ve been making.”

Yanyan giggled, clearly unashad. “Not my fault! He insisted. What was I supposed to do? Say no?”

“Oh, so he insisted, huh?” Su Qing quipped sarcastically. “It’s not like you didn’t want to.”

Yanyan smirked playfully. “Of course it was him! n are always so impatient. Don’t you know that?”

“Ha, like I haven’t been there,” Su Qing shot back with a knowing look.

Yanyan froze for a mont before it dawned on her. Su Qing’s “high school experience” had involved none other than Zhou Yuwen. Her playful grin vanished, replaced by a frown. “Wait. You an with who?”

Su Qing adjusted her glasses and smiled slyly. “Who do you think?”

“You—!” Yanyan fud, only for Shen Yu to interject loudly, “Can you two please stop? So of us are single, you know!”

The comnt defused the tension, and Yanyan decided to let it slide, shooting Su Qing a glare before turning her attention to the snacks. She reached over to grab a handful of Lu Lin’s chips, only to find the bag empty.

“Why didn’t you save

any?” Yanyan pouted.

“You didn’t say you wanted any,” Lu Lin replied nonchalantly. “There’s more in the room. Go grab so.”

Sighing dramatically, Yanyan got up to fetch the snacks. When she returned, she carried an armful of goodies—chips, instant noodles, and more. Seeing the spread, even Shen Yu and Su Qing, initially hesitant, couldn’t resist.

“Well, I guess indulging once won’t hurt,” Shen Yu muttered, reaching for a bag of chips.

“You’re the worst influence,” she added, shooting a half-hearted glare at Yanyan.

Yanyan grinned triumphantly, holding up a cup of spicy beef noodles. “If we’re gaining weight, we’re doing it together!”

“You already have a boyfriend,” Shen Yu complained. “We’re still single. You have no idea how hard it is for us!”

“Then find one!” Yanyan retorted with a laugh. “But you’re right. I should make Zhou Yuwen eat too. If I’m gaining weight, he’s not getting off easy.”

As she prepared the noodles, Yanyan marched back to the bedroom, long legs striding confidently.

Zhou Yuwen was lying on the bed, scrolling through his phone, when Yanyan poked her head in. “Hubby, are you asleep?”

Feigning sleep, Zhou Yuwen closed his eyes and pretended to snore.

“Oh, co on! I can see your phone’s still lit!” Yanyan pouted, quickly climbing onto the bed. She knelt in front of him, waving the noodles enticingly. “Night snack?”

Zhou Yuwen groaned, stretching lazily. “It’s late. We have to get up early tomorrow.”

“But I’m hungry,” Yanyan whined, shaking the cup of noodles.

“Then eat.”

“But I don’t want to eat alone!”

“Co on, make it for !” Zheng Yanyan whined, snuggling closer to Zhou Yuwen as she hugged him tightly.

Zhou Yuwen kept his eyes shut. “It’s just instant noodles. What’s so hard about it? Ask Su Qing to make it for you.”

“No! I want you to make it!” Yanyan pouted.

Zhou Yuwen wasn’t actually sleepy—he just didn’t feel like getting up. Dating soone like Yanyan was undeniably fun, but it also ant constantly indulging her whims.

When she realized he wasn’t budging, Yanyan snuggled under the covers next to him, wrapping herself around him like a koala. She wore nothing but a white shirt, her legs draped across his body as she traced lazy circles on his chest with her manicured nails.

“Please, hubby?” she cooed softly, nibbling on his ear.

Zhou Yuwen held her in his arms, sighing. “I’m staying here because your roommates are outside, and it’s awkward for

to go out. Can’t you just skip it? Call it a diet.”

“But I already told them my hubby makes the best noodles in the world!” she said dramatically, trying to butter him up.

Zhou Yuwen chuckled. “There’s no such thing as world-class instant noodles.”

“Yes, there is! Yours are the best! Even Lu Lin said she wanted to try them.”

“Lu Lin should eat less. She’s putting on weight; no one will want her,” Zhou Yuwen teased.

“And Shen Yu wants so too!” Yanyan pressed on, batting her lashes.

“Does your whole dorm want noodles?” Zhou Yuwen asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Not Su Qing. She doesn’t want any,” Yanyan fibbed.

Her relentless pestering finally broke him. “Fine, fine. What a clingy little troublemaker you are.”

“Yay!” Yanyan cheered, jumping up excitedly.

In the living room, Yanyan pranced in, announcing gleefully, “Guess what, everyone? My hubby is personally making noodles for you!”

The girls all turned to her, unimpressed.

“Big deal,” Su Qing said dryly. “It’s just noodles.”

“Exactly. Who cares?” Shen Yu added, though her stomach betrayed her with a soft growl.

Zhou Yuwen erged a mont later in his royal-blue sleepwear, looking both exasperated and resigned. “Seriously? You all want noodles in the middle of the night?”

“Yep! We can’t wait to taste your cooking, hubby!” Yanyan replied cheekily, hugging him tightly.

Zhou Yuwen scanned the room skeptically. His gaze landed on Lu Lin and Shen Yu. “Do you two actually want noodles?”

“Well… I am kind of hungry,” Shen Yu admitted shyly.

“I could eat a little,” Lu Lin added casually.

Finally, he turned to Su Qing. “What about you?”

Su Qing adjusted her glasses, smirking. “If it’s you making them, I might as well try so.”

Zhou Yuwen sighed. “I swear, every ti we go out, I end up being the group’s nanny.”

Yanyan clung to his arm, giggling. “No, no! You’re our hero, our kitchen god!”

“Yeah, right,” Zhou Yuwen muttered as he headed to the kitchenette.

Despite his grumbling, Zhou Yuwen got to work efficiently. He called the front desk to request hot water and eggs. The staff, recognizing him as the handso guest surrounded by beautiful won, eagerly complied, delivering the items quickly.

Zhou Yuwen carefully boiled water multiple tis to ensure it was clean before preparing the noodles. The kitchenette’s small island counter beca a makeshift workspace as he boiled the eggs and began cooking.

Su Qing, unable to resist, walked over to help. “Let

give you a hand,” she offered.

“Sure,” Zhou Yuwen replied nonchalantly.

As Su Qing opened the noodle packs, she glanced at Zhou Yuwen with a nostalgic smile. “Do you rember when you used to make noodles for ?”

“Yeah, I rember,” Zhou Yuwen said, focused on his task.

Back when they were dating, Su Qing often craved instant noodles despite her sensitive stomach. Zhou Yuwen would make her noodles using broth, adding extra ingredients like ribs to make it more nutritious.

Su Qing’s gaze softened as she watched him. “Those were the best noodles I’ve ever had,” she murmured, almost to herself.

The two stood across from each other at the counter, waiting for the noodles to cook. Su Qing reached out and gently held Zhou Yuwen’s hand, her eyes glimring with an emotion she couldn’t hide.

“Who would’ve thought we’d end up like this, cooking noodles together again?” she said with a wistful smile.

Zhou Yuwen pulled his hand back casually, smirking. “Fate, I guess. Looks like I’m dood to cook for you all.”

Su Qing chuckled, leaning slightly closer to him. “You’re only fated to be with ,” she whispered teasingly.

Before Zhou Yuwen could respond, Yanyan bounded out of the bathroom, her voice cutting through the mont. “Is it ready yet?”

Yanyan’s eyes narrowed as she spotted Su Qing standing close to Zhou Yuwen. “What’s going on here?”

“Nothing,” Zhou Yuwen replied quickly. “It’s done. Everyone co eat.”

Shen Yu and Lu Lin joined them at the table, but Yanyan wasn’t satisfied. Pulling Lu Lin aside, she whispered sharply, “Why weren’t you keeping an eye on them?”

“On what?” Lu Lin asked, feigning innocence.

“Su Qing and Zhou Yuwen! She’s his ex, you know. What if they rekindle their old fla?”

Lu Lin raised an eyebrow. “Not my problem. He’s not my boyfriend.”

Yanyan stared at her, speechless.
