Tao Tian’s rage burned hotter than Zheng Yanyan’s had after seeing the dashcam footage of Zhou Yuwen and Tao Tian together. That was anger over infidelity; this was an inferno fueled by betrayal, abandonnt, humiliation, and the cruel mockery of Qu Jing declaring, “You deserve it!”
And to top it off, Qu Jing intended to take her place.
Min Min’s earlier provocations added fuel to the fire:
“This little btch planned it all along! She stirred up conflict between you and Zhou Yuwen, then cozied up to him herself. Look at how she’s been dressing—like so cheap tramp trying to seduce him!”
All the bottled-up resentnt, pain, and frustration exploded. Tao Tian lunged at Qu Jing, her hand gripping a fistful of hair, her other hand clawing at Qu Jing’s face.
“You little btch! You seduced him! I’ll ruin you! Give Zhou Yuwen back to !” Tao Tian scread, her voice trembling with fury.
Caught off guard and unsteady in her high heels, Qu Jing stumbled backward, falling under Tao Tian’s onslaught.
Pinned to the ground, Qu Jing struggled, her defiance unbroken despite Tao Tian’s assault. She sneered, “Why should I give him back? Is he your boyfriend? Can’t soone else like him too?”
“You dare!” Tao Tian shrieked, her anger boiling over. “How dare you even think you’re worthy of him?”
The notion that Qu Jing, her subordinate, would dare to compete for Zhou Yuwen was unbearable. For three years, Tao Tian had been the undisputed queen of their dormitory—admired, respected, and catered to. That her long-ti follower would betray her now was unthinkable.
“You’re nothing!” Tao Tian scread, her voice raw.
Qu Jing, unwilling to remain passive, lashed out in self-defense, clawing at Tao Tian’s back and yanking at her clothes.
Their scuffle continued until Sun Qian, a part-ti organizer, stumbled upon the scene. Horrified, she quickly called for help to separate the two and inford Zhou Yuwen about the fight.
---
When Zhou Yuwen answered the call, his first question was practical: “Is the exhibition running smoothly?”
“No major issues. I’ve already sent for security to separate them,” Sun Qian replied.
Zhou Yuwen could hear shouting in the background—Tao Tian’s voice, shrill and desperate, calling his na.
“Let
talk to Tao Tian,” Zhou Yuwen instructed.
Sun Qian hesitated but handed the phone to a tear-streaked Tao Tian.
“Zhou Yuwen?” Tao Tian’s voice wavered as she tried to compose herself.
“What do you want?” Zhou Yuwen asked, his tone cool.
“I-I just want to explain! Things aren’t what you think. Please, add
back on WeChat. Let
explain. I’m not as bad as you think I am!”
Zhou Yuwen sighed. “Qu Jing and the others are working. You’re disrupting their jobs. If you don’t want to work, fine, but don’t interfere with others.”
“I wasn’t trying to—” Tao Tian began, her voice trembling with emotion.
“Enough,” Zhou Yuwen cut her off. “I don’t have ti for this. et
at Happy Billiards at 4 p.m. We’ll talk then.”
Tao Tian’s lips quivered. “Do I have to wait until 4? Can’t we talk now?”
“Do you still want to see ?” Zhou Yuwen’s sharp question silenced her protests.
Sniffling, Tao Tian whispered, “I’ll wait. I promise I’ll wait.”
“Good. Stop causing trouble for Qu Jing,” Zhou Yuwen said before ending the call.
The gathered crowd had overheard the conversation, and Qu Jing smirked, clearly pleased with herself.
Seeing Qu Jing’s smug expression, Tao Tian bit her lip and left without another word, Min Min trailing behind her.

By the ti Zhou Yuwen arrived at the exhibition center, it was lunchti. The girls were taking staggered breaks to eat and rest, and the morning’s events had already spread through the part-ti group chats.
“Did you hear? Tao Tian and Qu Jing fought over Zhou Yuwen!”
“Well, with how good-looking and successful Zhou Yuwen is, can you bla them?”
Even the South Arts students, initially indifferent, were now intrigued by Zhou Yuwen. For them, Zhou Yuwen wasn’t just an ordinary handso face—his wealth and status added another layer of appeal.
Qu Jing, anwhile, basked in her newfound loyalty and recognition. A few girls fussed over her injuries, applying iodine to her scratched face.
When Zhou Yuwen entered the rest area, everyone quickly stood up, greeting him in unison as “Brother Zhou.”
Qu Jing rushed to her feet, her eyes lighting up as she saw him approach.
“Did she do this to you?” Zhou Yuwen asked, his brow furrowed as he gently touched the scratch on her cheek.
Qu Jing covered his hand with hers, smiling despite her injuries. “It’s nothing. I was just worried you’d think I was ugly now.”
“Don’t be ridiculous. It’ll heal in a couple of weeks,” Zhou Yuwen reassured her.
Qu Jing’s heart swelled with warmth. She knelt beside him as he sat on the couch, her hands clutching his as she vowed, “Zhou Yuwen, I’ll always stand by you. Unlike Tao Tian, I’ll never betray you.”
Her pink qipao, paired with nude stockings and red-soled heels, accentuated her graceful figure as she rested her head against Zhou Yuwen’s hand.
“I’m all yours,” she murmured, her voice trembling with emotion. “I’ll do anything for you.”
Zhou Yuwen patted her head gently. “Don’t worry. I’ll take care of you.”
Qu Jing smiled, rubbing her cheek against his palm like a contented kitten. “As long as you keep patting my head, I’ll be happy.”
Zhou Yuwen advised her to take the afternoon off, but Qu Jing refused.
“I can still work,” she insisted.
Zhou Yuwen sighed. “Fine. But be careful. And don’t let Tao Tian get to you.”
“She doesn’t matter to ,” Qu Jing said firmly. “You’re all that matters. I’ll do anything for you, Zhou Yuwen.”
Her words were sincere, her devotion unmistakable. Zhou Yuwen could only nod, slightly overwheld by her intensity.
