In the stillness of the night, moonlight stread through the dormitory window, casting a hazy glow over the room.

The dorm was unusually quiet, but Tao Tian clutched her phone tightly, sobbing silently. She dared not make a sound because earlier, the girls from the Arts Departnt had spent the evening comforting her, denouncing Zhou Yuwen as a “scumbag.”

“A guy like that isn’t worth it!” they had declared.

If Min Min found out that Tao Tian was still crying over Zhou Yuwen, wouldn’t that be utterly humiliating?

So Tao Tian stifled her sobs, though her chest ached. She was trapped in the vortex of emotion, spiraling into regret. In such monts, it’s easy to latch onto self-bla: There was a chance. If only I hadn’t made that one mistake, maybe everything would still be fine.

She couldn’t help but reflect on how well Zhou Yuwen had treated her. He had taken her to business dinners, publicly introduced her as his girlfriend, and shielded her from harm. Why had she acted so rashly?

She could have slowly edged Zheng Yanyan out and secured her place in Zhou Yuwen’s life. Instead, her impulsive decision to lead the Arts Departnt girls in betraying Zhou Yuwen had sealed her fate.

Tao Tian’s hesitation during that betrayal had been real. If only she’d resisted Min Min’s coaxing. If she had stood firm, Zhou Yuwen might not have deleted her.

For three years in university, she had only liked one guy, and now even friendship was off the table. The way Zhou Yuwen had deleted her felt like a punishnt too heavy to bear.

After all, breakups in college rarely end with such finality—most people at least keep each other on WeChat. Zhou Yuwen’s decisiveness left Tao Tian reeling.

She felt completely lost, overco with regret. She wanted to explain, but Zhou Yuwen had given her no chance to do so.

That night was destined to be sleepless for Tao Tian.

She lay motionless, her gaze fixed on the ceiling, feeling like a shell of herself. Zhou Yuwen’s deletion symbolized his complete exit from her world.

No more band-aids handed over with a gentle smile.

No more shielding her from unwelco drinks at dinners.

She would never et another man like him.

This realization made her want to cry all over again.

She couldn’t accept this. She wouldn’t. Tao Tian resolved to wait for dawn. As soon as it was light, she would find Zhou Yuwen and explain everything. She would admit her mistake, beg for forgiveness, and do whatever it took—even kneel if she had to.

Being his girlfriend was no longer her goal. She just wanted things to go back to how they were before.

She could give up the title of General Manager to Lu Lin. She didn’t want it anymore, truly.

With these thoughts swirling in her mind, Tao Tian remained quiet, lying awake until dawn.

In her daze, she might have drifted off, only to wake to the faint sounds of Qu Jing getting out of bed.

“Where are you going so early?” Min Min mumbled.

Qu Jing chuckled softly, “I’m heading out.”

Min Min teased, “You’ve been going out every day lately. Who are you eting?”

Qu Jing just smiled, her footsteps fading as she left.

Tao Tian wasn’t sure if this exchange had been real or part of a dream. Either way, she fell back into a restless slumber, only to jolt awake at around 8 a.m., suddenly calling out, “Zhou Yuwen!”

Min Min was startled awake. “What? What’s going on?” she asked, looking at Tao Tian with concern.

Tao Tian sat upright, her disheveled appearance shocking. Her hair was a ss, and her dark circles were prominent, yet even in her disarray, her beauty remained evident.

Tao Tian froze for a mont before breaking down into uncontrollable sobs.

“Min Min, Zhou Yuwen...”

“He deleted !”

Her wails were heart-wrenching. She couldn’t believe that Zhou Yuwen, whom she thought had feelings for her, would be so ruthless.

Min Min, shocked herself, tried to console her. “Alright, alright, don’t cry. So what if he deleted you? He’s not worth it! We should’ve deleted him first. That jerk!”

Min Min continued, “I know! He probably thought you deleted him first, so he retaliated. It’s definitely a misunderstanding. Don’t cry anymore!”

Min Min genuinely cared for Tao Tian, climbing into her bed to comfort her. But the more Min Min tried to soothe her, the more Tao Tian cried.

“No, Min Min, you don’t understand!” Tao Tian sobbed. “It’s because I ssaged him. I told him I missed him... and then he deleted

without a word!”

Hearing this, Min Min was dumbfounded. “Why would you ssage him? Tao Tian! That’s giving him the upper hand! Now he knows he can control you. How could you make such a rookie mistake?”

Min Min couldn’t fathom why Tao Tian, usually so composed and commanding, had fallen into such a submissive position. Tao Tian was supposed to be the revered president of the Arts Departnt, a campus goddess!

But Tao Tian shook her head, tears streaming down her face. “You don’t understand. He’s different. I really like him. I never should’ve listened to you. Zhou Yuwen is genuinely angry. He’s done with . I can’t live without him.”

Tao Tian’s tears flowed freely as she stood, determination hardening her resolve. She couldn’t let things end like this. She had to find Zhou Yuwen, apologize, and beg him to restore their connection.

Ignoring Min Min’s protests, Tao Tian washed her face, changed into a loose T-shirt, and tied up her hair. She needed to look her best for Zhou Yuwen.

When Min Min tried to stop her, Tao Tian retorted, “I don’t care anymore. I just need to see him, even if it ans apologizing to Zheng Yanyan. I’ll do whatever it takes.”

Min Min watched, exasperated, as Tao Tian dashed out of the dorm.

Wearing a simple white T-shirt and showcasing her enviable figure, Tao Tian caught the attention of countless students as she hurried across campus. Her red eyes only added to her appeal, making her look heartbreakingly vulnerable.

She headed straight to Zhou Yuwen’s classroom, only to find it empty. Her heart sank. She felt like a lost child, frantically searching for the one person she couldn’t bear to lose.

Finally, her desperation brought her to Lu Lin’s classroom. Spotting Lu Lin, she rushed over, grabbed her hand, and sobbed, “Please, tell

where Zhou Yuwen is! I need to see him. I can’t live without him!”

The entire class fell silent, staring at the usually composed Tao Tian, now reduced to tears.

Lu Lin hesitated but quickly pulled Tao Tian aside, promising to talk sowhere private.

In the corridor, Tao Tian clung to Lu Lin, tears streaming down her face. Just then, her phone rang.

Thinking it was Zhou Yuwen, she scrambled to answer it, only to see Min Min’s na flashing on the screen. The urgency in Min Min’s call was palpable, even through the ringtone.
