Qu Jing was becoming increasingly unusual, curling herself tightly into Zhou Yuwen’s embrace, her gaze filled with deep infatuation.

Zhou Yuwen’s hand rested on Qu Jing’s stocking-clad legs, but it was rely to ensure she didn’t slip off. He still had so self-control.

He pointed out that Qu Jing’s feelings toward him were sowhat unhealthy and reminded her that he already had a girlfriend.

At that mont, Qu Jing had her arms around Zhou Yuwen’s neck, her head resting by his ear. Her breath was warm and slightly heavy, likely due to her emotional state, and it tickled his neck.

Qu Jing whispered softly about the dreams she had, confessing that she liked being treated the way she was in those dreams. She recalled Zhou Yuwen saying once that even if Zheng Yanyan was a little puppy, she was his little puppy. But Qu Jing, she lanted, didn’t even have an “owner.”

Qu Jing’s emotions were heightened, fueled by her already unhealthy feelings and the confined atmosphere of the BMW’s interior, which made her even more impulsive.

She began murmuring nonsensically, her body pressing closer to Zhou Yuwen’s. When he remained silent, she grew bolder, eventually leaning in to try and kiss him.

Just as their lips were about to et, Zhou Yuwen turned his head away.

“Senior Qu Jing, you might be drunk. I have a girlfriend. I don’t want what happened with Tao Tian to happen again with you. Let’s stop here. I’ll take you ho now,” Zhou Yuwen said coldly, despite Qu Jing’s earlier seductive behavior.

A mature man knows what to do in such situations.

Hearing this, Qu Jing panicked. With tears in her voice, she protested, “I’m not like Tao Tian.”

But Zhou Yuwen lifted her off his lap and placed her in the passenger seat, preparing to start the car and take her ho.

Qu Jing, however, didn’t want to leave Zhou Yuwen so soon. Grabbing his wrist, she pleaded, “Tao Tian wanted to get rid of Zheng Yanyan and beco your real girlfriend, but I’m not like her!”

“All I want is to stay by your side.”

As she spoke, Qu Jing looked at Zhou Yuwen with tearful eyes, her voice pitiful. “I’ve never wanted to be your girlfriend. You can just treat

like a little pet—your kitten or puppy. When you have ti, you can tease , pat my head, or hold

in your arms. I’d be so happy. And when you don’t want to, I’ll behave and won’t cause you any trouble. Zhou Yuwen, I really, really like you...”

In the dimly lit car, Qu Jing’s eyes sparkled like stars as she gazed at him weakly.

Zhou Yuwen hesitated. He realized that much of Qu Jing’s unhealthy psychology was his responsibility. Ignoring her might only worsen things. He needed to guide her back to a healthier mindset.

Looking into her expectant eyes, Zhou Yuwen reached out a hand.

Qu Jing, as if receiving a treasure, eagerly held his hand and placed her cheek against it, letting him stroke her chin. She closed her eyes, a look of bliss on her face.

Zhou Yuwen scratched her chin playfully, and Qu Jing rubbed her face against his hand, as if truly enjoying the affection.

“Contact the girls from the Arts Departnt,” Zhou Yuwen instructed. “Ask if they’re still willing to do part-ti work. If they are, they can follow you. If not, let it go.”

Qu Jing tilted her head. “Is this a task?”

“You could call it that,” Zhou Yuwen replied.

“Will there be a reward?” she asked eagerly.

Amused, Zhou Yuwen asked, “What kind of reward do you want?”

“I... I want you to kiss ...” Qu Jing said, blushing.

Zhou Yuwen was montarily surprised but said, “Alright. If you complete the task, I’ll kiss you.”

“Can I have it now?” Qu Jing asked, her anticipation growing.

Zhou Yuwen pinched her nose gently.

“Mm...” Qu Jing let out a soft sound.

But Zhou Yuwen didn’t kiss her. If she wanted to play this kind of ga, the reward wouldn’t co so easily. He drove her back to her dorm instead.

On the way, Zhou Yuwen explained the details of the task.

Eager to prove herself, Qu Jing said she already had ideas. She noted that many people were dissatisfied with Tao Tian’s behavior and believed she could win them over with private ssages.

While still in the car, Qu Jing contacted one of the girls. She started the conversation casually, asking about her opinion on not being included in the day’s part-ti work.

The girl, cautious because Qu Jing was Tao Tian’s roommate, initially replied diplomatically, “Sister Jing, why are you reaching out to ? I fully support Sister Tao’s decisions. We must resist scumbags to the end!”

Seeing Zhou Yuwen referred to as a scumbag, Qu Jing imdiately beca defensive.

“Zhou Yuwen isn’t a scumbag!” she fired back. “How could he be? You’re a second-year student and have done part-ti jobs before. If it weren’t for Zhou Yuwen, where would we find such high-paying work? Have you ever been harassed during his jobs? Do you really think working under Tao Tian will be better than under Zhou Yuwen?”

Her rapid response left the girl stunned.

“Are you testing , Sister Jing? I might have complained about Sister Tao in the dorm, but it was just venting. Does she know?”

“Tao Tian doesn’t know. I’m contacting you on Zhou Yuwen’s behalf,” Qu Jing said proudly.

“?” The girl was shocked.

Qu Jing then explained, “Tomorrow’s event needs eight more people. It’s from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., lunch included, and you’ll earn 400 yuan. Are you in?”

“Uh...” The girl hesitated but eventually said, “Sister Jing, aren’t you Tao Tian’s roommate?”

“So what? Tao Tian’s behavior isn’t fair! Zhou Yuwen treats us well, introducing great jobs and protecting us. Tao Tian’s only upset because she couldn’t be his girlfriend. She’s ungrateful! Zhou Yuwen said he’d let bygones be bygones if you continue working. Do you want to?”

“Of course! Sister Jing, you’re right. We’re just students trying to earn money for makeup. Why make it a power struggle? Besides, Sister Tao doesn’t know half as much as Brother Zhou. Honestly, I’ve been thinking this for a while! Where do we et tomorrow? I’m in!”

Qu Jing excitedly showed the chat to Zhou Yuwen. “See? Everyone supports you! Tao Tian’s actions have caused an uproar, and people still trust you!”

Zhou Yuwen smiled and praised her. “You handled that well.”

Blushing at the complint, Qu Jing replied shyly, “No, it’s because of your leadership. Everyone rembers your kindness!”

Smiling, Zhou Yuwen shifted gears and drove back to campus. Qu Jing, sensing his hand move, quickly offered her legs for him to touch.

Though Zhou Yuwen hadn’t intended to, her gesture was hard to refuse, so he placed his hand on her legs, making Qu Jing feel elated.

He dropped her off near the dorms, warning, “Don’t let Senior Tao find out, or she might target you.”

Qu Jing felt warm inside, interpreting his words as concern. “I’m not afraid! As long as it’s for you, I can handle anything.”

“Good girl. Go on, now,” Zhou Yuwen said, patting her cheek.

Qu Jing returned to the dorms, her heart light and her steps practically skipping.

Back in the dorm, Tao Tian was trying to organize work for the students, but her efforts hit a wall. Zhao Jun, her contact, had turned cold, pointing out that organizing part-ti jobs wasn’t as simple as it seed. He demanded a 5,000-yuan deposit, which shocked Tao Tian.

Frustrated, Tao Tian lanted her choices aloud. Hearing this, Qu Jing couldn’t help but feel smug, thinking, This is what you get for betraying Zhou Yuwen!

Gleefully, she resolved to update Zhou Yuwen tomorrow, determined to make Tao Tian pay for her mistakes.
