Zhou Yuwen wasn’t ignoring the situation; he just believed that this was sothing that needed to be sorted out logically before getting directly involved.
Currently, Zhou Yuwen controlled about 90% of the part-ti labor market in the university town, organizing an average of three exhibitions or events every weekend. The group of girls loyal to Tao Tian comprised around 30 to 40 individuals.
Zhou Yuwen had anticipated sothing like this happening and minimized potential losses beforehand. In his view, this was an opportunity to observe the influence Tao Tian held over her group. He didn’t particularly need their support—after all, the entire city of Jinling wasn’t dependent on a few girls.
His plan was straightforward: let Tao Tian and her clique make a fuss, and have Zhao Jun temporarily recruit replacents from outside. Zhou Yuwen wasn’t about to throw a tantrum, storm over to Tao Tian, and demand an explanation for her actions.
Everything was proceeding according to plan. In fact, Zhou Yuwen was prepared to abandon the part-ti model industry entirely if necessary. It wouldn’t harm him financially, and it would save him from dealing with the drama these girls thought was so crucial.
But the girls didn’t see it that way. They huddled around Tao Tian, full of righteous indignation.
“We’ll never work for him again!”
“He has to co here and apologize to Tao Tian!”
They imagined themselves as irreplaceable, while Zhou Yuwen remained indifferent. Aside from so negative “scumbag” gossip on campus, the situation had little impact on him.
Tao Tian was sowhat of a campus celebrity, and Zhou Yuwen’s sudden involvent with her sparked intrigue. A first-year student secretly dating a third-year beauty? That was noteworthy.
The scandal didn’t destroy Zhou Yuwen’s reputation. Instead, it reinforced his appeal to so, as people gossiped about how impressive he was for winning over Tao Tian, affectionately nicknad "Tao Big Breasts."
Still, Zhou Yuwen didn’t take the issue seriously. At ho, he continued working on his novel, sipping whiskey occasionally. anwhile, in their private group chat, Tao Tian’s supporters carried on enthusiastically:
“Today’s gig was canceled because no one showed up! The labor company had to hire replacents!”
“We need to stay united! If we don’t give Zhou Yuwen a lesson, he’ll think he’s untouchable!”
“He won’t survive without us! Tomorrow’s events will be in trouble without our help!”
Despite their fiery rhetoric, the majority of the 30
girls in the group remained silent. Most of them just wanted to make so money, not get dragged into palace intrigue. They were annoyed but stayed quiet, reluctant to challenge the vocal minority.
---
On campus, lunchti found the cafeteria sparsely populated. A few girls in sleepwear and shorts, their long legs lazily exposed, gossiped while grabbing food:
“Did you skip today’s gig too?”
“Yeah, thanks to that Tao Tian. She’s upset over Zhou Yuwen and dragged us into her ss. I just wanted to make so money for makeup.”
One girl scoffed, “You think we can find anything better? Most gigs here are controlled by Xu Huai Hui. Unless you want to hand out flyers for pocket change, there’s no better option.”
Another chid in, “Honestly, Tao Tian’s behavior is ridiculous. From what I’ve heard, it sounds like she’s the one trying to seduce Zhou Yuwen and got angry when it didn’t work out.”
“Yeah, and now she’s dragging everyone into this drama.”
The casual gossip revealed the girls’ frustrations, while Zhou Yuwen remained detached, sipping a Coke and watching soccer at ho. He was fully prepared to cut ties with the modeling gigs if necessary.
Just then, his phone rang. Seeing the caller ID—Su Qing—he rolled his eyes. “Not her again,” he muttered, predicting she’d seen the forum posts and wanted to stir things up.
He answered the call.
“Zhou Yuwen! My calculations show you need !” Su Qing declared cheerfully.
“I need nothing from you,” he retorted.
“What’s wrong? Couldn’t find replacents for your part-tirs?” she teased.
“Nope.”
“Then what’s bothering you?”
Zhou Yuwen sighed dramatically. “Tao Tian ruined my wholeso image as a one-woman man.”
Su Qing laughed. “Wholeso? You? That ship sailed ages ago. You were ssing around even when I was still in the picture!”
“Hey, watch your words, Miss Ex-Wife.”
“...”
Su Qing dismissed his antics and asked where he was. When Zhou Yuwen said he was ho, she announced she’d co over.
“Don’t bother. I’m in no mood to unlock the door,” Zhou Yuwen said.
“You’re insufferable! I have important business!” she snapped.
“Like unlocking doors isn’t important?”
“Shut up. I’ll be there soon.”
---
When Su Qing arrived at Zhou Yuwen’s high-security apartnt complex, she called him to co down and let her in. Instead, Zhou Yuwen called the property manager, who gladly fetched Su Qing.
Su Qing’s appearance—soft pink knit sweater, a white fishtail skirt, and simple white sneakers—exuded elegance. Her reimagined wardrobe and newfound confidence made her a stark contrast to the young, naive girl of her past.
The property manager escorted her to Zhou Yuwen’s door. As Su Qing entered, her lips curled into a sly smile.
Finally, she thought, I’ve got you alone.
Zhou Yuwen sat sprawled on the couch, feet propped on the coffee table amid leftover breakfast and an open can of Coke.
“Zhou Yuwen! Don’t you know how to clean up after yourself?!” Su Qing scolded.
“Relax. My house, my rules,” he replied lazily.
Su Qing huffed, rolling up her sleeves to tidy the ss. She grumbled under her breath while stacking dishes in the sink.
Once finished, she strode confidently over to him, blocking the TV.
“Move,” Zhou Yuwen said, gesturing for her to step aside.
Instead, Su Qing leaned in close, their faces re inches apart, a teasing smile on her lips.
“What are you doing?!” Zhou Yuwen asked, uneasy.
“Zhou Yuwen, did you miss ?” she cooed, her voice carrying the unmistakable tone of a spoiled heiress.
