Zhou Yuwen had an idea but knew it wouldn't be useful for him. Still, seeing Li Shiqi's fixation on the two hundred yuan, he generously promised her an additional two hundred yuan as a reward. Furthermore, if Li Shiqi could bring in thirty people to get cards tomorrow, he would give her another two hundred yuan.
Li Shiqi was naturally very happy making money for the first ti and didn't expect Zhou Yuwen to be so generous. Their first conversation was enjoyable, and after taking the call outside the dorm, Li Shiqi returned with a smile that didn't fade. This didn't go unnoticed by her new roommates, who exchanged knowing glances.
"Who were you on the phone with? You look so happy," one asked.
"Was it your boyfriend?" another teased.
"No, just a high school classmate."
"A high school classmate? Oh, was it a guy or a girl?"
While chatting with Zhou Yuwen, Li Shiqi hadn't considered these things. Despite being classmates for three years in high school, this was probably their first long conversation alone.
Her college roommates wouldn't know this. They thought, "On your first day of college, you're chatting happily with a guy you call a high school classmate. There must be mutual feelings!"
Li Shiqi quickly explained, "No, we're just ordinary high school classmates. Really, just ordinary."
Her explanation fell flat. Everyone understood and laughed, saying, "Co on, it's normal to have a boyfriend now, right?"
"Yeah, who doesn't have one!"
"Oh, so you have one too?"
"Why? Don't you?"
In high school, Li Shiqi focused solely on her studies and rarely considered relationships. But in college, the first-night chat in the dorms inevitably revolved around romantic relationships.
One of Li Shiqi's roommates had a boyfriend and openly discussed their relationship. Another didn't have a boyfriend but said they were more than friends but not quite lovers.
Li Shiqi realized she might be the only one without male friends growing up. Surprised, she asked, "Did everyone in high school date instead of studying?"
Her roommates were annoyed, "What do you an by that? Do you think we only dated and didn't study?"
"Yeah, who was that on the phone with you?"
"Just a high school classmate!"
"We were high school classmates too!"
Co to think of it, Li Shiqi was quite na??ve. However, her roommates had seen through it all, having transitioned from high school to college together.
"Shiqi, if you really like your high school classmate, you should seize the opportunity. These boys get quite fickle in college."
"I don't have anything with him."
"Ah, that's no fun to talk about then!"
"Exactly!"
The other three girls talked about their romantic lives that night, and Li Shiqi could not join in.
Who did she like?
Thinking hard, Li Shiqi could only recall literary texts like "The Lant" and math problems from high school. No boys ca to mind.
After lights out, lying in bed, Li Shiqi stared at the ceiling, thinking about a boy who had slowly surfaced in her mind.
What kind of boy was Zhou Yuwen?
She had never considered this before. But after their interaction, she was curious about him. He seed capable and had already started making money when everyone else was still clueless.
He was decisive and efficient when they talked on the phone, nothing like a high school student.
Yet, they had been classmates for three years. Why hadn't she noticed before?
What did Zhou Yuwen look like? She could barely recall, having not seen him for two months.
Around her, her roommates chatted about relationships. They talked about giving small gifts, going out for als, watching movies, and taking walks.
Li Shiqi wondered if she should date in college, but she quickly dismissed the idea.
She told herself she was different. She needed to study hard, get her degree, and find a good job for freedom.
Love and relationships were not for her.
Having sorted out her thoughts, Li Shiqi fell asleep.
anwhile, Zhou Yuwen still had many things to handle. After returning to the dorm, he needed to compile the list of card applicants, including the one Li Shiqi gave him.
Li Shiqi's list was scattered, with thirty people spread across nine universities, half of them in technical institutes, the farthest three kiloters away.
They might not bother to co over, but Zhou Yuwen still had to tally everything.
When Zhou Yuwen took Li Shiqi's call, Chang Hao and Li Qiang looked envious.
When Zhou Yuwen returned, they imdiately asked, "Old Zhou, who was on the phone?"
"No one, just a high school classmate," Zhou Yuwen replied.
"Oh, why don't my high school classmates call ?"
"Maybe you're not as handso as ."
"F***!"
Zhou Yuwen had no ti for banter and began compiling his list. In the anti, he received many ssages.
He finally set his phone to silent.
Chang Hao caught a glimpse of Liu Yue ssaging Zhou Yuwen.
Liu Yue, who liked to visit other girls' dorms, had found two potential custors for Zhou Yuwen and was boasting about it.
"Two custors an sixty yuan commission (yay!)"
Zhou Yuwen checked and confird.
Liu Yue said she had asked around other dorms and found two card applicants.
"When I walked in, I was so embarrassed! (covering face)"
Zhou Yuwen replied, "Keep it up! (cheering)"
Seeing Zhou Yuwen's ssage, Liu Yue was delighted and bragged to the other girls in her dorm, "Yaoyao, I told Zhou Yuwen I got him two custors, and he told
to keep it up!"
Sitting on her bed chatting with Zhou Yuwen, Liu Yue was beaming.
"You're still chatting with Zhou Yuwen?" Li Jing asked curiously.
"Yeah! I found that Zhou Yuwen is a bit of a straight guy. He doesn't seem to chat much with girls," Liu Yue laughed.
Ma Tian teased, "Maybe he doesn't want to chat with you?"
The room erupted in laughter as Li Jing and Gu Yaoyao couldn't hold back their giggles.
Liu Yue glared at Ma Tian in annoyance.
Ma Tian stuck out her tongue, "Just kidding, don't take it seriously."
"You're so annoying!"
Liu Yue decided to ignore Ma Tian. She knew she wasn't as pretty as Gu Yaoyao, but she believed that if you like soone, you should openly express it.
If she didn't chat with Zhou Yuwen, she wouldn't have any chance. But if they kept chatting, maybe sothing could happen between them.
