Tao Tian originally planned to use the excuse of returning the money Zhou Yuwen had helped her spend on products to chat with him for a bit longer.

Unexpectedly, Zheng Yanyan casually sent Tao Tian a photo—a picture taken on the bed, no less. In it, Zheng Yanyan wore a camisole nightdress, clinging to Zhou Yuwen’s arm, and the two looked intimately close.

Zhou Yuwen thought sending the picture was excessive.

“She’s just here to return money, and you send her a photo like that?”

“Be careful she doesn’t share it,” he warned.

Zheng Yanyan puffed her cheeks. “So what if she does? It’s not illegal for

to be with my boyfriend.”

“If she does, you won’t be able to get married,” Zhou Yuwen teased.

Zheng Yanyan imdiately beca upset. “What do you an, Zhou Yuwen? Are you saying you don’t want to marry ?”

“I never said I’d marry you.”

“Ah~!” Zheng Yanyan pouted and climbed on top of Zhou Yuwen in mock frustration. “Say it! Will you marry

or not?”

Zhou Yuwen laughed. “Of course, of course. Why are you so eager to get married?”

“Get lost!” Zheng Yanyan rolled her eyes but kept an eye on her phone, curious about Tao Tian’s response.

Tao Tian, upon seeing the photo, felt deeply embarrassed, as though caught sneaking a forbidden treat. She hesitated for about five minutes before replying:

“Oh, so you two are together. Actually, I didn’t have any other reason to contact Zhou Yuwen. I just wanted to return the money for the costics he helped

purchase.”

“Please don’t misunderstand, Zhou Yuwen.”

“I’d feel terrible if I caused any issues between you two because of ”

Zhou Yuwen read the ssages aloud to Zheng Yanyan. “See? Senior Tao is so considerate. You should learn from her.”

“What do you know?!” Zheng Yanyan retorted with a glare.

Won seem to have a natural competitive instinct with one another. Tao Tian, with her poised deanor and alluring charm, was precisely the type of person that put won on edge. Zheng Yanyan’s suspicions only deepened as she read the chat history between Zhou Yuwen and Tao Tian—it was far too engaging for her liking.

She imdiately sent Tao Tian a voice ssage:

“Thank you, Senior Tao. Zhou Yuwen and I are very happy together. If you need help with anything like shopping, just let

know. I’ll make sure Zhou Yuwen takes care of it for you.”

Tao Tian responded with a voice ssage as well:

“Got it.”

Their tones couldn’t have been more different—Zheng Yanyan’s was sweet and charming, while Tao Tian’s was cold and dignified. Although it seed polite on the surface, the underlying tension was palpable.

After resolving the issue with Tao Tian, Zheng Yanyan tossed her phone aside and gave Zhou Yuwen a disdainful glance.

“What now?” Zhou Yuwen asked.

“Don’t talk to Tao Tian anymore,” Zheng Yanyan demanded.

“You’re even controlling my social life now?”

“She clearly has ulterior motives!”

“You’re overthinking it. Most of our interactions are work-related. You know how many girls from the Arts Departnt rely on

for part-ti work. Do you know how much revenue they generate? If I cut ties like you want, how am I supposed to earn money to support you?” Zhou Yuwen reasoned.

Although Zheng Yanyan was annoyed, she had no counterargunt. She sulked, imagining Tao Tian harboring feelings for Zhou Yuwen while he remained oblivious, even seeing Tao Tian as an understanding “big sister.”

Frustrated but helpless, she sighed, “Then promise , you’ll only talk to her about work!”

“Of course. What else would we talk about? You’re really overthinking this. Tao Tian is so accomplished—why would she be interested in ? Besides, I already have a girlfriend.” Zhou Yuwen smiled.

“You just don’t understand anything,” Zheng Yanyan muttered, rolling her eyes again.

The busy season lood as the courier station ramped up operations ahead of “Double Eleven.” Zhou Yuwen coordinated with Liu Shuo to recruit part-ti workers, and the courier company even sent five buses daily to shuttle employees. To further streamline logistics, Zhou Yuwen set up temporary offices next to the station and purchased essential equipnt like computers and air conditioners.

One day, a new mber joined the team: Jiang Xinyi, a refined and professional woman whose deanor seed out of place in the rustic courier station.

When Zhou Yuwen introduced her, he said,

“This is Jiang Xinyi, a top student in finance from Jinling University. She’ll be working with us here.”

Jiang Xinyi quickly adapted to her surroundings, even though the environnt was a far cry from the corporate world she might have been used to.

anwhile, Lu Hui continued to manage accounting duties at the station. One day, she was helping in the warehouse and ended up pulling back a small refrigerator, which was placed outside.

Lu Hui looked around and saw that everyone was in the office. There were Zhou Yuwen, Liu Shuo, Gao Yang, and a woman she didn’t know.

So Lu Hui shouted at Zhou Yuwen:

“Hey, Xiao Zhou, I bought a refrigerator. You can help

move it into the office later!”
