Before November arrived, Zhou Yuwen found himself heading to Hong Kong again. This ca as a surprise to those around him. Before leaving, Zhou Yuwen spent a night with Zheng Yanyan.

For Zheng Yanyan, this kind of intimacy was a complicated matter. However, after so ti without it, she found herself missing Zhou Yuwen and took the initiative to tease him.

By late October, the temperature had dropped. Zheng Yanyan switched to wearing fashionable knit tops paired with long pants. Since the incident at the barbecue restaurant, she carried herself with the air of a "gangster boss's woman." Her confidence was bolstered by the Arts Departnt girls constantly flattering her, which only inflated her ego further.

For instance, by late October, she was wearing a black knit top, dark skinny jeans, and over-the-knee boots, exuding a dark and mature allure.

“You mocked Linlin’s walk? Let’s see if you’ll be waddling like a duck later,” Zhou Yuwen teased.

Zheng Yanyan pleaded for rcy, but Zhou Yuwen insisted on avenging Lu Lin. “You’re supposed to be best friends, and yet you mock her.”

“Oh, so she has a husband, and I don’t? Whatever her husband can give her, my husband can give

too,” Zheng Yanyan retorted, half annoyed, half amused.

After their ti together, Zhou Yuwen felt much more relaxed. He couldn’t help but think that the difference between Zheng Yanyan and Lu Lin wasn’t significant. Despite Chang Hao’s constant chatter about the unique qualities of people from Beijing compared to other places, Zhou Yuwen thought they were about the sa. Sotis, he even found Lu Lin a bit more agreeable—after all, she was more obedient.

Zheng Yanyan, in contrast, was more headstrong. Afterward, she would complain about how Zhou Yuwen never spent enough ti with her, always busy with work.

“It’s almost Double 11. The courier station is swamped with tasks,” Zhou Yuwen explained.

“Just let Liu Shuo handle it, then,” Zheng Yanyan pouted. Since their eting at the barbecue restaurant, Zhou Yuwen had dined with Zheng Yanyan and Liu Shuo twice. Liu Shuo greatly respected Zhou Yuwen and, after learning about Zheng Yanyan’s status, treated her as the boss’s lady, addressing her as "Sister-in-law" with great enthusiasm.

This flattery delighted Zheng Yanyan, and she began seeing Liu Shuo as her subordinate. Naturally, she expected Zhou Yuwen to order Liu Shuo around on her behalf.

“He doesn’t owe you anything,” Zhou Yuwen remarked.

“But isn’t he your lackey?”

“Lackey, my foot. We’re friends,” Zhou Yuwen replied.

“Fine, say what you want to , but you should respect my friends and not act as if you’re really their sister-in-law,” he warned.

Zheng Yanyan huffed, still annoyed, and burrowed into Zhou Yuwen’s arms without speaking. Zhou Yuwen then inford her of his impending trip to Hong Kong.

“Again? What’s taking you to Hong Kong this ti?” she asked, curious.

“Business,” he replied curtly.

“What kind of business?”

“Man’s business. Don’t concern yourself with it,” Zhou Yuwen said, pinching her cheek.

Zheng Yanyan pouted, feigning disinterest. “Fine, you wouldn’t take

along anyway.”

“How about I ask my mom for so money, and we go together?” she asked, full of excitent.

“I’m going there to work, not play. I’ll be back in two days,” Zhou Yuwen assured her.

Reluctantly, Zheng Yanyan let it go, only brightening up when Zhou Yuwen promised to take her to Hong Kong next ti. They chatted about Hong Kong Disneyland, which she longed to visit.

Zhou Yuwen pointed out that Shanghai’s Disneyland would be open in a couple of years.

“Shanghai is getting a Disneyland?”

“Yeah.”

Besides informing Zheng Yanyan, Zhou Yuwen also needed permission from You Changjin.

“Off to Hong Kong again?” You Changjin asked, surprised.

“Yeah, so things need handling,” Zhou Yuwen explained.

“You’re sothing, Zhou. I’ve never even left the mainland, and here you are, hopping over to Hong Kong every other day,” You Changjin joked.

“It’s just work.”

“Hey, are costics cheaper there?”

“So are.”

“Could you bring so back for ?”

“What do you need?”

After so back-and-forth, it boiled down to a few items worth around a thousand yuan. The savings would be minimal, but You Changjin was quite earnest about it.

Zhou Yuwen agreed.

“Thank you, Zhou! I’ll transfer the money to you later,” You Changjin said, feeling he had a valuable connection in Zhou Yuwen.

With everything settled, Zhou Yuwen boarded his flight to Hong Kong.

A Lucrative Decision

At the peak of virtual currency value, Zhou Yuwen decided to cash out, predicting a gradual decline over the next two months. Selling everything in one go, he found himself with a balance of 13 million yuan.

Staying in a luxurious Hong Kong hotel, Zhou Yuwen indulged in retail therapy, buying watches, suits, and high-end autumn wear. One highlight was a Patek Philippe watch, with a female sales assistant helping him try it on. Although it felt too flashy, he bought it anyway, spending over 500,000 yuan.

In the presidential suite, Zhou Yuwen took a photo in his new outfit and posted it on his social dia. As expected, it garnered plenty of likes.

Zheng Yanyan shared the post, bragging, “My boyfriend’s off to Hong Kong again, and he didn’t take !”

anwhile, Tao Tian’s feelings spiraled. She had been ssaging Zhou Yuwen daily, sharing her outfits, and even sending him photos of little things she encountered. Their conversations remained in a delicate balance of ambiguity.

But deep down, Tao Tian knew she couldn’t grasp Zhou Yuwen’s heart. Despite being older by two years, she felt like a child before him.

Zhou Yuwen chuckled, telling her, “You’re just a silly girl.”

Yet, Tao Tian’s heart ached whenever she thought about Zhou Yuwen and Zheng Yanyan’s intimacy. She confided in him, even about her physical pain, seeking solace in their chats.

Still, Zhou Yuwen kept the relationship ambiguous. He offered occasional warmth but never let things progress. Tao Tian, despite trying to distance herself, always found herself drawn back, seeking his attention.

The chapter closes with Zhou Yuwen returning to Jinling on a rainy day, the chill in the air reflecting the unresolved emotions left hanging.
