Chapter 15: Hello, Senior
Because of his role in distributing campus cards, Zhou Yuwen was the star of the day, and soon everyone in the class knew about him. Not only was he handso, but he was also extrely capable, and as the campus card distributor for Xianlin University City, he was perceived as soone who made good money.
Many didn't grasp the financial details, but it was clear Zhou Yuwen was quite impressive. Liu Yue, who had grown up with business-savvy parents, firmly believed the campus card business was lucrative.
"Think about it! He said he'd give us a 30 yuan commission per card, so he must be making at least 50 yuan per card. That ans if he sells 100 cards, he'd make 5000 yuan. How could he not be making money?"
For Liu Yue, 5000 yuan was a significant amount. After the class eting, she and her dorm mates headed to the cafeteria, and all she could talk about was Zhou Yuwen—handso, capable, and not shallow.
"A boyfriend like that is the most reliable. The best part is Zhou Yuwen doesn’t judge people by their looks!" Liu Yue exclaid.
"If he's that great, why don’t you go after him?" her dorm mate Li Jing teased.
Liu Yue blushed, "I’d like to, but he has to be willing."
Li Jing giggled, agreeing that Zhou Yuwen was indeed handso. "He and Yaoyao make a good match."
"Yeah, Yaoyao, do you like Zhou Yuwen? You even gave him your ID!" piped in Ma Tian, a petite girl who loved shipping couples and even talked about writing fanfiction about Zhou Yuwen and Gu Yaoyao.
Gu Yaoyao smiled softly, "It's just an ID. He's the class representative, and I’m the vice representative. Trust is essential."
"But doesn’t that an he’ll see your ugly photo?" Ma Tian teased.
"Yaoyao is always beautiful," Li Jing added.
As Ma Tian and Li Jing chatted with Gu Yaoyao, Liu Yue felt a bit envious. She thought, "Gu Yaoyao might be pretty, but so what? Ma Tian and Li Jing can’t think for themselves."
anwhile, Zhou Yuwen was still in the classroom, finishing up the card orders. Chang Hao and Li Qiang waited for him, even helping out when he was overwheld. Once they were done, Zhou Yuwen suggested treating them to dinner.
"No need for that, Old Zhou. I'll get a card from you too," Chang Hao said.
"You don’t have to. This internal card is unlimited. We can all use it," Zhou Yuwen replied.
"But it’s your card. We can't keep asking you for the dynamic password," Chang Hao insisted, admiring Zhou Yuwen’s role as the main distributor and wanting to join in on the action. His data was also running out, making a card practical.
Zhou Yuwen laughed at how prepared Chang Hao was. "Alright, I’ll get you a 29 yuan package with unlimited data."
"Really? That’s aweso, Old Zhou!"
"I'll take one too, Zhou Yuwen," Lu Yuhang said.
"Really? Three out of four in our dorm are getting cards? That’s overkill," Zhou Yuwen chuckled.
"No problem. My data is also running out, and I want a Jinling card," Lu Yuhang explained.
"Hey, I’ll get one too! Can you give us a group discount?" Li Qiang joked, feeling left out and wanting to join the group.
Chang Hao scolded him, "You always complicate things. 9.9 yuan? Really?"
Li Qiang laughed, "Why not? Brother Zhou is the distributor!"
"Forget it, Old Zhou. Just ignore him," Chang Hao said, worried Zhou Yuwen might feel pressured.
Li Qiang, feeling a bit awkward, laughed it off. They all headed to the cafeteria, where Zhou Yuwen treated them to dinner.
They ran into Liu Yue and her dorm mates, who greeted Zhou Yuwen warmly.
"Haven't eaten yet?" Liu Yue, being outgoing, asked.
"Been busy," Zhou Yuwen replied.
Liu Yue laughed, "Alright, see you later!"
Zhou Yuwen nodded, greeting Ma Tian and Li Jing with a smile before turning to Gu Yaoyao, who smiled back.
Chang Hao envied Zhou Yuwen, having already gotten so familiar with the girls on the first day.
"Hey, Old Zhou, when did you beco the distributor? You never ntioned it," Chang Hao asked.
Zhou Yuwen explained, "I have a relative in the telecom office. I signed a contract to be the distributor."
"Wow, an iPhone 5s?" Chang Hao was amazed.
"Being a distributor must be profitable," Li Qiang comnted.
"Not sure yet," Zhou Yuwen replied.
"Can you ask if they need more people?" Li Qiang asked.
Chang Hao laughed, "You idiot, only one person can be the main distributor. If you want to join, you’ll be working under Old Zhou."
"Is that so?" Li Qiang looked disappointed and asked how much Zhou Yuwen earned per card.
Zhou Yuwen, getting annoyed, said, "That's a trade secret. I can’t disclose that."
"Not even to a friend?" Li Qiang pouted.
"Not even to my own child," Zhou Yuwen joked.
Chang Hao, already disliking Li Qiang, was further annoyed. "Don’t bother Old Zhou. Anything you need help with, just ask."
After a simple al, they headed back to the dorm. Zhou Yuwen was busy with his phone, responding to nurous freshn who needed help, thinking he was an upperclassman.
Amidst his ssages, there were many girls wanting to get closer to him. Chang Hao and Li Qiang, seeing how busy Zhou Yuwen was, left him alone.
It was early September, and the evening breeze was gentle. The campus was at its most relaxed, with not just the freshn but also sophomores and juniors who had finished classes gathering at the cafeteria. These older students were more stylishly dressed, so in short skirts or shorts.
The sight of senior girls, with their long, white legs, captivated Chang Hao and Li Qiang.
Chang Hao kept his cool, but Li Qiang was astonished. "Wow, look at her outfit! Isn’t that like sleepwear?"
"That's normal," Chang Hao replied.
A girl, fresh from the shower, walked by in a loose sleep shirt, her hair still wet. The fragrance of her shampoo lingered in the air, making so boys lose focus.
Couples walked by, with girls snuggling happily into their boyfriends' arms, making Chang Hao and Li Qiang feel even more single.
Seeing a happy couple ordering food, Chang Hao thought to himself, "I must find a girlfriend in college! I must win Zheng Yanyan's heart."
Then, a girl in a white shirt with wet hair appeared. Eighteen or nineteen, she looked fresh and innocent, her loose white T-shirt barely concealing her figure.
She smiled as she walked over, seemingly looking at both Chang Hao and Li Qiang. Chang Hao thought she was smiling at him and wondered if he knew her.
As he pondered how to greet her, she smiled brightly. "Hi, senior! Here to eat?"
"Yeah, just showered," Zhou Yuwen replied.
"Mm-hmm, the dorm showers are so far from our rooms!"
Zhou Yuwen smiled, "Well, there used to be a shower near your dorm, but it was closed due to old equipnt."
"Yeah, it’s such a hassle walking so far to shower," she said, her voice half-joking and half-complaining.
Though she was quite pretty, Zhou Yuwen handled the conversation smoothly, leaving Chang Hao and Li Qiang in awe.
