The freshman party proceeded smoothly, whether it was Shen Yu managing everything behind the scenes or Su Qing hosting on stage. Both of them stood out.

Su Qing, in particular, impressed the crowd. Though she wasn’t adept at making money, she excelled in design and styling. Wearing a pale yellow off-the-shoulder gown and high heels, she drew gasps as soon as she stepped on stage.

The party officially began with an opening dance by the Arts Departnt. Eleven first-year girls with dance backgrounds perford energetically in JK plaid skirts and white sneakers. Zheng Yanyan stood at the center in a pink JK skirt, her long legs wrapped in white knee-high socks, moving gracefully with the music.

Left hand, right hand, a slow motion.

Right hand, left hand, slow motion again.

The synchronized dance to upbeat music was eye-catching, and the girls' outfits and looks were visually captivating.

The audience erupted with cheers and shouts. The combination of music and performance had them fully engaged.

Most eyes were on Zheng Yanyan, whose pink skirt and knee-high socks made her stand out. With prior exposure in various events, she had already gained so recognition. The freshman party, being a more significant occasion attended by students from all schools and even university leaders, amplified her fa.

"Hey, I know her! Wasn’t she Chang Hao’s girlfriend during military training?" said one student who had trained with them, recalling how Chang Hao, then a class representative, often spoke of her.

Soone joked with Chang Hao, "Wow, didn’t know your girlfriend was so talented."

Chang Hao opened his mouth to respond, but Li Qiang beat him to it: "What girlfriend? Who told you Yanyan is his girlfriend? She’s Zhou Yuwen’s girlfriend! Keep saying that, and you’ll get Brother Hao mad!"

"Wait, wasn’t she with Chang Hao? I rember him saying so," a couple of students from another class looked curiously at Chang Hao.

Chang Hao glanced at Li Qiang, then said, "You rembered wrong."

"Wrong?"

The boys exchanged confused looks—how could they rember that wrong?

Li Qiang chuckled. Just then, Zhou Yuwen arrived after handling matters backstage. Li Qiang called out, "Brother Zhou!"

Li Qiang turned to the two boys, "See? This is Yanyan’s boyfriend, so don’t mix it up."

Zhou Yuwen, who hadn’t participated in the military training and thus wasn’t familiar with the boys, stood indifferent as they discussed him. The boys shrugged and decided not to continue the conversation.

"Chang Hao did pursue Yanyan back then, but she didn’t accept him. Later, she got together with Brother Zhou," Li Qiang explained. He added with mock seriousness, "Rember to clarify this back in your class. Spreading rumors hurts a girl’s reputation. By the way, Chang Hao, watch what you boast about next ti, alright?"

Li Qiang, who had argued with Chang Hao in the morning and even taken a punch from him, found satisfaction in teasing him, especially in Zhou Yuwen’s presence. It was a way to curry favor.

Chang Hao’s face darkened as he snapped, "Everyone knows Yanyan is Zhou Yuwen’s girlfriend now. Do you have to keep ntioning ?"

"Hey, I didn’t want to, but you told everyone Yanyan was your girlfriend. Did you ever think about how that affected her reputation?" Li Qiang said self-righteously.

"Right, Brother Zhou?" Li Qiang turned to Zhou Yuwen.

The boys, sensing tension, moved away, leaving Chang Hao muttering, "I only made a comnt about you and Lu Lin. Did you have to keep dragging this up?"

"What? I did?" Li Qiang pretended innocence.

Chang Hao had enough and decided to ignore Li Qiang. With a personality like that, even if he were Lu Lin, he wouldn’t choose Li Qiang.

At this point, Zhou Yuwen asked where he could sit.

Chang Hao, despite his irritation, assigned Zhou Yuwen a good seat near him. "Sit next to ."

"Alright."

They took their seats in the front row, and Chang Hao asked Zhou Yuwen where he’d been.

"Oh, I was at the back of the auditorium, busy with sothing," Zhou Yuwen replied, sowhat distracted. Understandably, considering what he and Lu Lin had just done in the eting room, he was only half-focused, feeling drained from the encounter.

Lu Lin had sat on his lap, demanding all of his attention. She coyly commanded, "Wipe

clean!" Zhou Yuwen chuckled at her jealousy, "Really? Jealous over this?"

"Yanyan said you did it for her," Lu Lin pouted.

With a sigh, Zhou Yuwen obliged. Then, Lu Lin insisted on returning the favor. It took a while before they were done and aired out the room.

"You’re getting bolder," Zhou Yuwen comnted as they left.

"Don’t you like it?"

"Not bad," Zhou Yuwen said.

As they exited the eting room, Lu Lin gave Zhou Yuwen a quick kiss before rushing off to perform.

Despite expending so much energy, Lu Lin still jumped and danced energetically on stage.

The song they perford had a foreign tune, reminiscent of the 2014 track Manual of Youth Practice.

Nose and eyes, a playful wiggle; the change in styles was quick and seamless.

As the music played, Zheng Yanyan and the girls lifted a leg, then retracted it, spun around, and leaped, their JK skirts fluttering gently.

The audience was enthralled, especially with Yanyan in the center, gracefully moving like a little princess with perfect expressions. The other girls seed like her attendants, elevating her prominence.

In the final monts of the dance, Yanyan ford a large heart with her hands in Zhou Yuwen’s direction, winking playfully. The gesture sent the crowd into a frenzy, with screams echoing through the auditorium.

People started asking if she had a boyfriend.

Those who knew said, "That’s him right there!"

They pointed at Zhou Yuwen, who was standing with Chang Hao and Li Qiang. Curious gazes and whispers surrounded them.

"Brother Zhou, now the pressure is on," Li Qiang joked.

"What pressure?" Zhou Yuwen asked.

"After tonight, Yanyan will be one of the legendary campus beauties. Having such an amazing girlfriend must be stressful, right?"

"It’s fine," Zhou Yuwen replied.

"Ha, classic Brother Zhou. Anyway, I’m off to give Lu Lin these flowers!" Li Qiang said, walking away.

Chang Hao, now annoyed with Li Qiang, muttered, "You think she’ll accept those?"

Zhou Yuwen chuckled, making no comnt.

The sight of eleven JK-clad girls leaving the stage was delightful. Li Qiang approached Lu Lin with the bouquet, beaming, "Linlin, your performance was great! These are for you."

But Lu Lin waved him off, "Thanks, but I can’t take them right now."

"Co on, Linlin, I don’t an anything by it. I already bought them!" Li Qiang pleaded.

"I have a boyfriend," Lu Lin said.

The smile froze on Li Qiang’s face as the bouquet drooped slightly.

Seeing his expression, Lu Lin added, "Thanks for your kind gesture, but I really can’t accept it. I don’t want my boyfriend to misunderstand."

Li Qiang’s face fell, but after a mont, he asked, "Can I know who he is?"

"You don’t know him."

Just then, Tao Tian called Lu Lin from behind.

"Coming!"

This exchange, taking place at the side of the auditorium, was visible to everyone. Chang Hao watched with a hint of schadenfreude and whispered to Zhou Yuwen, "He’s clueless."

"Everyone’s here," announced a voice.

Zhou Yuwen and Chang Hao turned to see their counselor, You Changjin, arriving with a beautiful woman.

While the freshn girls all had a youthful look, the woman accompanying You Changjin had an OL outfit and light makeup that made her stand out.

She was about 24, two years younger than You Changjin, wearing a simple chiffon blouse and a pale green pencil skirt. Her slender, shapely legs looked especially striking under the dim lighting, paired with nude heels that added a touch of elegance. A high-end handbag hung over her shoulder.

The heels gave her an air of sophistication, and her golden bracelet—a Cartier worth around 40,000 yuan—caught Zhou Yuwen’s attention.

You Changjin introduced her proudly, "This is my girlfriend I often ntion, Jiang Xinyi, a top student at Nanjing University."

Seeing her, even Chang Hao was montarily stunned by her beauty.

But there was no chance for him; You Changjin continued proudly, "She’s your teacher's wife-to-be."

The students were impressed; Jiang Xinyi carried herself with a poised smile that was neither too distant nor overly friendly.

"Hello," she nodded and extended her hand to Zhou Yuwen and Chang Hao.

"...Oh," Chang Hao, unaccustod to such formal gestures, hesitated, unsure of what to do.

Zhou Yuwen, on the other hand, calmly shook her hand. Her cool, soft hand hinted at a natural cold constitution.

"Nice to et you," he said, letting go after a brief touch.

Chang Hao, now aware, extended his hand, but Jiang Xinyi had already pulled hers back, leaving him slightly disappointed.

You Changjin told them, "Your teacher's wife is quite accomplished. You should learn from her."

Zhou Yuwen joked, "

Better to learn from you, sir. How did you manage to win over such a beautiful partner?"

"You cheeky kid!" You Changjin laughed.

University teachers and students usually had relaxed relationships. While Chang Hao might observe formalities as the class representative, Zhou Yuwen wasn’t bound by such rules.

After so chatter, You Changjin, proud of his first ti as a counselor, brought Jiang Xinyi to see the class’s performance.

"Is our group’s performance up next?" he asked Chang Hao.

"Almost," Chang Hao said, checking his watch. "I need to go organize the students."

"Go ahead."

Chang Hao gathered the students to prepare for their performance, while You Changjin asked Zhou Yuwen, "Aren’t you joining?"

Zhou Yuwen replied, smiling, "I can’t sing well enough to be chosen."

"Nonsense, he sings great! I’ll have him sing for you soti," You Changjin joked to Jiang Xinyi.
