"Hey, wait up!" Luellen gasped and followed her best friend. Her arms dropped to the side when she walked side-by-side with Sumr. "Are you leaving the building? Where are you headed? Maybe we can walk together longer?"

Sumr showed off the front of the folder she was holding. When she opened it, it was empty. "I’m headed to the most troubleso office here in the Towers. They were the least competent, as worded by Matilda’s boss’s boss! They sent us an important file with nothing inside."

She sighed. "Matilda told to find them and pick up the missing file. Maybe a pretty girl would make their n work harder, she said."

Luellen took out the mo pad Houston had given her. "I’m headed to this office. I’m not sure how long we would be walking together. Am I even asking you to take a longer route?"

"...wow, we’re heading to the sa place..." Sumr glanced at the paper in Luellen’s hands. "I’m surprised they didn’t ask Shirley to go. Wait, why would they? She’s a princess..."

"Huh?"

"I don’t an anything much, but..." Sumr nudged Luellen’s shoulder with hers. She then gossiped in a very soft voice, "Do you know that Shirley’s internship was fast-tracked and accepted because of her aunt? Connections really get you in the highest place, I guess. Sigh, I can only work for twenty years before getting to where you are!"

Sumr flinched and chuckled as if apologizing. "Not that you used connections that way! I an... I don’t even know why you were transferred."

Luellen still smiled. "Do you rember my open-heart surgery ten years ago? The one paid for by an anonymous donor to the hospital? It was him. Mr Wentworth donated to our little hospital, saving my family and ."

She gazed down and chuckled. "I told him about it when we t. I said I wanted to give back to him, so I wanted to work in his company.

"He ended up transferring to his office." Luellen sighed with a slight smile. "I don’t know how the two jobs compare, but... I sowhat got what I wished for, no? Directly reporting to him and running errands for him."

"Wow..." Sumr kept her mouth slightly open. She then just smiled. "I see. That’s really nice of him. But I have to tell you... August will be so pissed!"

Luellen chuckled. "Yeah, he sounded so angry when I had to go ho past nine. He kept saying I should stop working for an office like that."

Sumr shrugged her shoulders. "Welp, if he wants you to stop working, he should earn enough to feed you, too. At this point, he could barely wiggle. His overhead expenses and working capital surely couldn’t keep a woman, what more a wife? I often told him that won are now practical.

"Especially soone like you." Sumr flashed a big smile. "I an, your family was well-off, even more than ours. If disaster didn’t hit, you wouldn’t need a Leander Wentworth to keep you afloat! You only need Luellen Piper alone. No man, just you."

"I wish I could deny that." Luellen sighed with a chuckle. Her life might not be the most lavish, but she didn’t worry about money.

Sumr then looked around, as if checking to see if anyone would hear them. She then nudged Luellen with her shoulder again. "Lue, maybe you can earn a favor from Mr Wentworth? I an, your uncle and your dad’s business partner scamd the money out of your inheritance. Maybe he could get soone to dispute it."

Luellen stared at her best friend’s serious nodding. She never thought of taking advantage of her new connections. Then again, she just smiled. "I probably shouldn’t. Mr Wentworth is just my boss. If I asked, I might be overstepping boundaries..."

"Then, seduce him." Sumr covered her mouth with the empty folder. "Being Mrs Wentworth couldn’t be overstepping boundaries...!

"Also, you should properly get back at Shirley and her vile auntie." The other lady huffed. She pressed the elevator’s button to call it. "I keep hearing things from her. Shirley sses up a lot, but her aunt begs your boss not to fire her. I also heard how that woman hugs Mr Wentworth’s arm like they were together."

Luellen stared at Sumr with wide eyes. "Is the auntie you’re talking about... Ms Galaxy? She’s Shirley’s auntie?"

Sumr nodded her head vigorously. She then twisted her red lips. "Do you know? Shirley kept ranting about how useless you were in the office. All her sses beca yours in the group chat. I can’t believe it...! I... don’t want to say sothing, either."

She turned to Luellen. "Am I... being a bad friend? I have no proof to show. Also, Shirley is in a higher position than I am. Matilda might sack if I said sothing."

"It’s okay. Everyone in the office knows who fixes her sses." Luellen patted Sumr’s head. "She’s only there because her aunt covers her bottom."

What was it that Houston said? Luellen should only worry about Shirley the mont she turned into a real threat. It was too early to think that the woman was worth more than her, the girl who fixed her sses. The only defining factor was her aunt, who seed to be important.

Luellen then frowned. "That’s odd, though. Mr Leander shouldn’t readily take to his house if he has a girlfriend. No one else was even ho by then."

"Mr Wentworth... took you ho?"

"Yeah, it was..."

Luellen turned to Sumr to explain, but her words horrified herself just the sa. She forgot that she hadn’t told anyone about that overnight stay. The maiden grabbed her mouth, while Sumr grabbed her shoulders to shake more words out. They only stopped when the elevator doors opened to their floor.

Sumr pouted and drilled her shoulder into Luellen. "Spill the tea later! I want to drink it all! All of it!"

The two won regained their professional deanors when they arrived in the office lobby. The receptionist there glanced at them, but she was busy typing. Her hands even flew by as if her fingers were made of steel.

"Hello, I’m Sumr from Wentworth Hos, Sales Departnt. Can I speak with Jackielyn? It’s important." Sumr wore her signature sweet smile.

"We’re doing all sorts of important things. Wait for them to be available." The receptionist didn’t even smile back. "Did you send her an email? She should have told she was expecting you."

"Uhm, no, she wasn’t expecting ..." Sumr tried to peek at what the receptionist was doing. However, the receptionist covered it with her na plaque.

Luellen approached the desk and smiled. "How about ? I’m from the CEO’s office. Mr Houston has been expecting a report from you. Does Ms Jackielyn have the ti to speak to personally? I wish I could say I’m willing to wait."

The receptionist froze, looking at Luellen. She quickly used her mouse and typed. She forced a smile. "I’m sending Jackie a ssage. Uhm, please sit down."
