Healing a Fallen S-Rank Beastman: Everyone Fights Over the Little Female Chapter 89: Firm Belief
"Don’t get your hopes up. With my current abilities, I can’t treat a High Stage, danger-level S-Class male." As she finished speaking, the light in the eyes of Hans and Fred dimd slightly. Yes, what had they been expecting, really?
No matter how capable Lu Xiao was, she was still just an extrely young female.
And before her stood an S-Class male at the highest danger level.
"However, I just condensed my spiritual power and pierced his Spirit Sea. It might buy him so more ti."
The disappointnt that had just begun to spread was instantly dispelled by her words.
"That’s... that’s possible?" It was the first ti Admiral Hans had ever heard of a female’s spiritual power being compressed. Thinking about it, though, it wasn’t entirely implausible. After all, males could do it with their spiritual power.
No one had ever said females couldn’t; it was just that no female had ever done it before.
He found that Lu Xiao always did things that exceeded everyone’s expectations.
Just like now—everyone else’s eyes held so degree of negativity.
Yet she, and she alone, stood there, as dazzling as a star, as a lighthouse. Her eyes held no gloom, no fear—only candor and light.
It was as if she firmly believed that Regal would definitely survive.
Fred stared at her intently. He didn’t know where Lu Xiao’s confidence ca from.
Yet in this mont, he was utterly convinced that if anyone could save Regal, it would be Lu Xiao.
Just as everyone was reeling from the shock of Lu Xiao’s actions and words, Regal, who had woken up at so point, spoke in disbelief. "You... what did you do to ?"
His one intact human eye was visible again, and his gaze held a plea and a hope he dared not voice.
He seed desperate to know what Lu Xiao had done, for he felt it more deeply than anyone else present.
Because in that brief mont, he had felt a beam of light appear. A cool radiance shot into his Spirit Sea, becoming a bright moon in its pitch-black depths.
The light was faint, but it emanated a subtle coolness that soothed the endless clamor within his Spirit Sea.
It brought him a mont of peace.
"How do you feel now? Did it help?"
"There’s a bright moon in my Spirit Sea now. It’s very faint, but the coolness it’s giving off provides so relief. Thank you. You helped . What’s your na? I... may I know your na?" Regal was clearly much more lucid.
Seeing this, Admiral Hans’s gaze grew intense once more.
Lu Xiao had worked a miracle once again.
Standing to the side, Fred’s hands, which had been hanging loosely, were now clenched into tight fists.
Everything he had seen today had shaken him to the core.
"My na is Lu Xiao, a therapist at the Fifth Research Institute. I can’t resolve your condition right now; I can only offer a little help like this. I hope you can hold on and not give up hope. When you start to feel unwell, you can lash out. Don’t suppress it too much..." At this, Lu Xiao seed to think of sothing and turned to Admiral Hans. "Are these rooms sturdy?"
"Don’t worry, I’ll have them reinforced. There absolutely won’t be any problems." Hans understood what she ant.
"Did you hear that, Regal? It’s good for you to let your emotions out. Hold on. I’ll be back to see you."
"Okay, I will!" Tears welled up in the eyes that still held the light of human reason.
It had been a long ti since anyone had treated him so gently, or told him with such conviction to hold on—that there was still hope of survival!
Even as tears stread down his face, he kept his gaze fixed on Lu Xiao, determined to etch the young female’s voice and face into his mind so he would never forget.
Once she was finished, Lu Xiao looked at the others and said with a smile, "Let’s go."
The others seed to snap out of their daze.
On the way back, the group remained quiet, but their minds were anything but calm.
To soothe Teacher Ai Li, Lu Xiao held her hand for the entire trip back, offering her comfort.
Hans and Fred escorted them all the way to the gate of the asylum.
Lu Xiao imdiately spotted Ares waiting for her. ’I wonder how long he’s been standing there. The sun is high in the sky; why couldn’t he just wait in the car!’
She apologized to Teacher Ai Li again, and Teacher Ai Li hugged her. "My dear, I know you’re very kind, but next ti, you must think more about yourself, and about the people who love you."
"I will, Teacher Ai Li. I’m so sorry for scaring you today."
"Don’t apologize, my dear. You did sothing wonderful that none of us could have done. We’re proud of you!"
Teacher Ai Li kissed Lu Xiao’s forehead, gave her a smile, and then left with Teacher Sherry and the other teachers.
anwhile, Hans and Fred walked over to express their gratitude as well. Vice Admiral Fred, in particular, gave Lu Xiao the Empire’s highest salute, a hand over his chest. "Miss Lu Xiao, on behalf of the Leslie family, I thank you for your help with Regal."
"That’s not necessary, Vice Admiral Fred. I treated him not because of his background, but simply because the opportunity arose. You don’t need to thank . As far as I’m concerned, it’s just part of my job."
’I didn’t do it for any particular person.’ She didn’t want to create that kind of misunderstanding.
She didn’t say anything more to Vice Admiral Fred, because Ares was waiting for her.
Ares watched her walk over with a smile and stepped forward to et her. "Are you okay?"
As he asked, his eyes were filled with nothing but concern.
Lu Xiao wrapped her arms around his waist and nodded against his chest. "I’m fine, don’t worry. Dean’s condition is stable and his danger level has dropped. He can’t hurt anymore."
Lu Xiao instinctively chose not to tell Ares about Regal. ’If he found out I went to see a High Stage, danger-level S-Class male today, he’d just start worrying all over again. So, it’s better not to ntion it.’
As Ares opened the car door for Lu Xiao, he felt Fred’s gaze lingering on her. He looked up and gave Fred a slight nod.
Fred didn’t look away until he had watched Lu Xiao and Ares leave.
Hans, standing beside him, gently patted Fred’s shoulder. "If you like her, you should try to fight for her."
Fred gave a faint, forlorn smile. "I know. But she’s different."
Lu Xiao isn’t one of those females who just pays lip service to devotion and deep affection; she’s soone who actually acts on it. You can tell just by looking at Ares.
The reason Ares could face him with such composure was that he trusted Lu Xiao not to betray him.
And for him to have that kind of confidence, Lu Xiao must have done sothing to earn his unshakeable faith.
